It's the gaming presentation equivalent of "could've been an email" meetings. In other words, they could've easily been a Tweet.

I think this is likely confirmation that Switch 2 games will be $70 standard, which we kinda all saw coming even if we didn't want to hear it.

Wouldn't surprise me if they introduce Switch 2 vouchers with an adjusted price.

Darn, I bought it during the holiday sale as I didn't think they'd do it with this one, and I'm not entirely sure how keen Nintendo will be to put their Switch 1 titles on sale after Switch 2 is out. Oh well lol

No, they won't do any price cuts until Switch 2 is out, and even then I'm not sure they will.

As for Switch 2, I was expecting $400, buttttt if Trump goes through with his tariffs, then expect it to be higher, like $450, if not $500. In which case, I could see them continuing to sell the Switch 1 at the original price.

I get why they dripfeed content (providing long term value, whereas dropping everything at once may get a nice bit of attention at first, but it leaves the zeitgeist of public mindshare just as quickly resulting in no or lesser value over time), but 1 game a week is just pitiful.

Even 2 games a week would be better.

Oh yeah, regarding Legends ZA, it apparently does not have a Switch 2 version

So far most of the leak has been beta designs and concept art from Gen 3, 4, and 5. It's been really cool to see some of this stuff, despite the unfortunate circumstances.

There's a beta sprite design for Gen 3 that wasn't used that would later become Scrafty in Gen 5, for example, as well as a sprite for the infamous "Latiken" (Latias/Blaziken) concept art that made its rounds on the internet years ago.

Yes, I'm still playing Echoes of Wisdom. I don't get as much gaming time as I once did so it takes me a while to play through games.

Very much enjoying my time with it though!

@johnedwin Way to completely ignore context. Switch sales dropped that quarter compared to the same quarter last year because last year had Zelda TotK plus hype surrounding the brand from the Mario Movie. This year they had nothing remotely comparable.

The 2.1 million units sold is the number that matters. That's healthy for what's generally a slow quarter for Nintendo, especially this far into the system's lifespan. Sales have not collapsed.

I think a Switch 2 reveal is absolutely imminent. If it's true that mass production has started, then they'll want to get ahead of possible leaks with a reveal.

Switch holiday sales aren't as important as nailing the launch of Switch 2, and the types of people buying a Switch this late into the lifespan aren't the type of people that would buy a Switch 2 at launch.

@johnedwin No they haven't. Sales have slowed down, yes, but they're still pretty healthy for a console that's been on the market for over 7 years. They haven't collapsed at all.

I'll be playing the Emio demo this weekend. Played the Prologue last night and will play through Chapter 1 tonight. So far I'm enjoying it. It really is like Ace Attorney's investigation segments.

@Grumblevolcano I actually came back to the Klonoa collection recently too. The first game is a cakewalk up until the last couple levels where there's a ridiculous difficulty spike.

Game looks fantastic, though the BotW/TotK style mechanics will likely turn away a few people on here.

@Ralizah I feel like the BotW/TotK comparison is very similar to the Doom 2016/Doom Eternal comparison. TotK and Doom Eternal both have a busier, much more involved gameplay loop compared to their predecessors, and it turned people off.

Looks like they updated the sign to match Switch era company branding, as the old one was part of old Wii era branding.

Will probably be a launch title for Switch 2, with next year's entry onwards launching day and date with other platforms.

Same as last weekend, Pikmin 4! So very much enjoying it, and it should last me until Paper Mario's release.

I also picked up Little Kitty Big City, so I might try that out! Will pick up Animal Well next payday too.

@Reprise That quote most likely just means that it's a Switch with upgraded specs and no other real difference compared to the current Switch (besides games).

In other words, it could be more powerful than any console on the market and it would still be considered a "conservative evolution". The Nvidia leaks suggest it's somewhere between PS4 and PS4 Pro levels in terms of raw power (similar to the Steam Deck).

I finished Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe over the week. Really enjoyed my time with it, but don't really care to play through the extra mode that unlocks when you finish the story. Might come back and play the Magalor Epilogue at some point though.

As for my next game.... I'm thinking Portal!

I'm taking a break from Tears of the Kingdom this weekend by starting Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe! Already got past World 1.

Will also play a little bit of Suika Game. It's very addicting

Not for me honestly, so I'll be skipping the game. I did pick up both Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe and WarioWare Move It though as they were both on sale through the Walmart app. Not buying another game until Endless Ocean I don't think.

I'll be playing the Battlefront Collection mostly, but I purchased Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe and that should be delivered this morning so I'll likely start that up as well.

Big complaint so far is there doesn't seem to be an option to turn friendly fire off, which was present in the original (or at least in 2). Having fun in Instant Action so far otherwise.

Continuing on with Zelda TotK. Going to head to the last temple and continue on from there!

All I'm seeing is that we'll get news on the two titles (probably release dates). One is probably June (LM2 most likely), then the other is probably July/August.

Continuing on with Tears of the Kingdom. Working on getting all the tears at the moment. Plan playing through the main story before starting another game, which will probably be something short.

@Not_Soos Honestly don't think the other systems are that starved at the moment. Q1 has been pretty solid with games like Tekken, Prince of Persia, Like a Dragon, Persona, etc. Plus there's Dragon's Dogma 2, Unicorn Overlord, and South Park next month.

PS5 owners have a nice wave of (console) exclusives with Helldivers II, FFVII Rebirth, Rise of the Ronin, and Stellar Blade all back to back.

Admittedly, the rest of the year is looking more sparse, especially for multiplats.

Penny's Big Breakaway, Pentiment, and Star Wars Dark Forces are what I'm interested in.

They might all take a back seat to Side Order though! Still need to actually purchase the Expansion Pass.

@UltimateOtaku91 Xbox confirmed that Pentiment and Grounded are coming to PlayStation too. So Switch is just missing out on Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves. Probably Switch 2 launch titles

Not expecting much here. Probably a BW remake that clearly needs more dev time and a bunch of event updates for the mobile games.
