Finished off Pragmata this morning. It's honestly my personal GOTY.

Now I need to decide what to play next... probably gonna be going back to FireRed. Should be done with it before Ocarina releases! All other games will get put on hold for that lol

@the_beaver Onimusha's release date was moved forward to September 4th. The announcement kinda got buried at the time because it was on the same day that Sony announced the end of physical discs

Should probably edit the title to make it clear that this is for Europe only. This is due to the new battery regulations most likely. It simply made more sense for them to discontinue the line than to make a new revision of a system on it's way out for one region only just to meet regulations.

Awesome! Very excited for this game so it releasing sooner is good news (and on a personal level it spaces out the spending better haha)

It's a toss up between Pragmata and RE Requiem for me so far. Both are absolutely excellent titles, though I might be leaning towards Pragmata a bit. Capcom has been on fire this year! Can't wait for Onimusha.

I'd rather they don't add any more systems to NSO for the time being, and instead focus on filling out the existing GB, GBA, and GameCube libraries, which are all rather lacking currently.

Mina for sure, will also grab FFVII Rebirth soon.

Not interested in playing this one myself. Haven't bought any of Nintendo's 1st party titles this year other than FireRed honestly, but excited for Star Fox and Splatoon Raiders.

I may come back to this game in a few years when my daughter is old enough to play video games.

Such an out of the blue announcement. The character designs are obviously inspired by the original puppets on the Star Fox SNES box art, which is pretty cool.

Got the Generations Pack for Resident Evil as well as FireRed. Requiem was one of my most anticipated games of the year so I'm beyond excited to dive in!

Continuing on with Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. About 9 hours in (limited time for gaming means slow progress!), and enjoying every moment...

That being said, my playthrough is likely getting paused next week, because Resident Evil Requiem is releasing! That game takes priority as it's one of my most anticipated of the year. Also picking up Pokémon Fire Red, so I'll probably start that too.

I wouldn't expect much to change on the visibility front - NoA can't do anything without NCL's approval. Reggie had a lot of pull with Iwata; after he passed, NCL got stricter. Then they got even stricter after Reggie retired.

In large part, this is likely due to NoA doing a ton of content with members of the Smash community that would later turn out to be.... problematic, to say the least. NCL likes to have as much control as possible, and they don't want a repeat of that PR blunder.

Not surprising unfortunately. The majority of specialized chain stores in the US have been dying and going out of business.

What sucks is that if you want a more niche title physically, GameStop is pretty much the only option at retail as Walmart, Target, and sometimes even Best Buy won't carry it. So if GameStop goes away, you best hope it's available on Amazon.

Game looks much more content and feature complete than the last two Mario Tennis entries. A huge step in the right direction.

That being said, this is coming out in the same month as Resident Evil Requiem, and well... that game is getting my money over this.

Capcom is really putting all their 2026 releases in the span of a few months aren't they lol

@WaveBoy No, that would require the developer to patch the game itself to support that.

This was simply a fix in the system's translation layer used for BC that fixed the issues with these particular games.

Awesome news. It has 4K and 120fps support on the other platforms, so hopefully this receives a Switch 2 patch for that at some point

Very underwhelming Direct.

The big thing with Switch 2 was that we'd get to see heavier hitting 3rd party titles... and this had largely the same stuff that we saw on Switch 1.

They knocked out the 2 most obvious ports (Sparking Zero, P3R) and then had Kiwami 2 and Cronos, but nothing super major past that as far as ports go. Weak showing for your 2 month old console port wise.

Also, what was the point of showing Age of Imprisonment just to show another teaser with no release date??

No, I think I'll save my $20 for the Kirby upgrade instead.

Not surprised. You're buying a $450-$500 system not including tax, and then any accessories to go with it. In today's economy that's a lot to ask, most won't have much money left over for games, and if they do they're gonna buy Mario Kart, not full priced ports of titles they've played elsewhere for cheaper.

Also, the key card thing isn't that big of a factor, and won't be long term. Most general consumers aren't aware of what a game key card is nor do they care. It will have played a role in the weak launch sales though, as people who pick up a system at launch aren't the general consumer; they're the more dedicated enthusiast who are well informed.

Always found it interesting how the different European countries have such differing markets.

I have a preorder from Walmart arriving tomorrow! Ordered a screen protector from Amazon but not planning on any other accessories just yet. Will be grabbing Mario Kart of course

I honestly don't care about the game key card - I would've bought the digital version anyways.

Hopefully Nier Automata gets patched soon. Also surprised to see that Pizza Tower is getting patched soon, as I assumed that one would take a while due to the studio most likely not having a dev kit yet

I feel like Nintendo's more dedicated fanbase are more likely to be single player oriented compared to Xbox or PlayStation, and thus won't use it.

I don't plan on ever using it.

@HugoGED @Anti-Matter From what I understand this is a digital only release across all platforms, so no Game Key Card here.

Switch should surpass DS and thus become Nintendo's best selling system ever sometime this summer, probably in July/August so we'll hear about it in October. As for beating PS2's record, based on their estimate I'd say Switch is going to absolutely crawl to that record. We'll see if it can get there.

As for Switch 2, it should have no problem meeting that estimate so long as the price of the system remains as is. If tariffs cause a price increase in the US, then it will probably fall short.

I suspect this will come to Switch 2 as well, just not day and date because of logistical reasons.

You might want to update the article again. The pre-order link on Nintendo's website for the digital version says it's $69.99, not $79.99

Yeah both my gf and I tried but all three websites were not working so we struck out on preorders entirely.

My local GameStop doesn't open until noon so I'll try my luck in store, but otherwise I'll have to hope for an invite from Nintendo or try my luck getting one on launch day

Good to know the price of the console won't be going up at launch. Hyped for the system!!

Those accessory prices sting, but I wasn't planning on grabbing any at launch anyways other than a screen protector.

I'm sure the next game revealed will be CoD 2025. For ports of existing games... maybe at the Xbox Showcase in June? Or at a Nintendo Direct?
