Glad to hear Xcom 2 runs better, I'm such a huge tactical RPG fan, don't care about graphics at all, but the performance of this game completely ruined the experience for me. I know it doesn't affect the gameplay, but EVERY single action you take, looks like a slow slide show. It was the only game in the entire Switch existence I couldn't stand the performance.
That's coming from someone who was able to enjoy the pokemon games with no problem at all

But out of the classic ones, CT is what is left for me, I absolutely loved it as a child! Give it to me in any type or form!

I think SRPGs have become my favorite genre in the last few years, and the switch has so many of them.
Having that said, I recently got Xcom 2 in a sale, and it's the first game on switch I couldn't play due to bad framerates and how annoying small loadings for every single action in the game were. I'm saying that being someone that didn't even mind the recent pokemon bad performances, and actually had a great time with them. But this game is completely unplayable on Switch.

His "opinion" of the connection between art (videogames, music, clothing, paintings) and politics, which is a fact and can be studied since the beginning of times is neither "true or false"; you assume a hypothesis about the people not wanting specific agendas as the reason for them to shut down? @GreyFenyx hades is one of my all time faves, but couldn't play much of dead cells since the progression, for me, fell way too slow. How does this compares to both of these?

After 2 amazing games on Switch, Fire Emblem is my top choice hands down

@roy130390 i got Dark Souls for switch, played it for like, 2h and never gave it a try again. You just reignted my will to give it another shot!

@KoopaTheGamer yeah, this comment section is def getting way too pessimistic ahead of time, and I agree with you, the pricing rub people the wrong way and now every little thing (which might be a mistake) is getting elevated to the 10th as some kinda deal breaker.
The internet overall seems to have lost any sense of critical analysis, I feel like people have to absolutely love something, or despise and hate on every comment section there is (which is like 90% of the time lol)

Absolutely love this changes and implementations, but man, with the charge jump and the rewind I'll be (even more) completely destroyed in competitive play lol

It would be A LOT of trouble getting around all the restrictions and regulations they have there, but if Nintendo was looking for growth, it should be a high rewarding investment. The switch being already the more popular plataform there gives Nintendo a head start to a HUGE market.
Maybe develop a couple of game taking into account the restrictions from the get go, very focused in the Chinese market?

@mjhopkins81 I think it's only tied to your account if you have Nintendo Online and automatically backup your save files.
If you disable the cloud save, you can have local files for each Switch. I'm not sure it works for every game since your experience has been different, but it did work for every game I ever borrowed

@LastFootnote agree with you on that, and you don't actually need to connect in any way other than logging in in the second switch.
I share games with my friends like this and it works wonders.

For those missing cards of the previous collections, there is an app called PokeHub, you publish what cards you have, and what cards you need, and I swear, in less than 10 seconds someone will respond with a proposal.
I completed all collections (but the Arceus one) like this. Now I'm out of the trading currency though, will wait for the update where you use shinedust for trading for the next few ones.

And geez, how ugly are the shiny pokemon, I can't with them haha

Even though I grew up with Gen 1 and 2 and love them, I'd really rank both, SwSh and Scarlet/Violet at the top, just behind the gen 2 rmks e and Legend Arceus. By a fair margin, I find them the most fun I've had in a pokemon game for a looooooong time.
The Sun/Moon generation was the absolute lowest point in the series, in my opinion, thankfully they've sailed away from those into a new great direction.

You can't go wrong with a pearl necklace, I'm obliged to pick Chikorita

@Dringo I'm with you on that, the game looks good and interesting, but I still can't picture the wild areas being as expansive as all the island locations we had in Arceus, they look very small.
I'm sure it's just a feeling, I can't see them dialing it back so much from what was done before, but it does leave us worried for now

These arguments tends to be so picky regarding small differences, but looking from a business perspective, we take the larger group for both and compare: people that want to play games in a portable device.
Personally, I rather spend my money on 1 or 2 videogames per generation. Don't even have time to play more than that. So having to choose, as things are right now, I'd never pick any steam deck over the switch 2, or next Xbox over the next PS. It becomes a direct competition, in my singular perspective, regardless of whatever extras the other machine might offer

I played a lot of Breakout for PS1, in my memory it was such great fun. This looks actually fun if it's priced $10 or less

@The-Chosen-one the Switch fire emblems are SO worth it. I've been playing both in the last few weeks, finished my first maddening playthrough in 3H and a hard playthrough in Engage, which has a terrible story but a super fun gameplay loop.

It's so sad to see Xbox sales, it's been such a downhill journey for MS, low sales, stagnant gamepass subscriptions, great studio closures... hopefully they can bounce back next generation, as hard as it may be

@Markatron84 there are still some visual bugs, but the games are (and have always been) pretty good.
For me Scarlet/violet and Arceus are the best pokemon games in a loooooong time (like, 10y+)

As long as it's not on gamepass and the developer doesn't go bankrupt, I'm all for it

@Erigen spot on, MS has been in a terrible place for the last 10 years or so. And they don't really make games for Xbox anymore, since everything gets ported and sells a lot more on other platforms

It's became political by people who can't accept other people... making their own decisions? It's weird to think such a high percentage of the population is this uneducated.

Nintendo was always for human rights though, so I don't see any change in what they've always done.

@anoyonmus sounds like you have a similar taste as myself, If you want to explore the indie world, I'd reccomend: Celeste, Wargroove, Animal Well, Katana Zero, Bug's Fable, and for some very creative chill game A short hike and Spiritfarer

It really doesn't affect or kill the box office numbers as you might think. Nowadays, about 70% of blockbusters box office is made in the first 4 weeks in the theaters (Sonic, Mario, Marvel movies and such). This rate has been highly increasing in the last decade.
Best way to keep earning over the movie is to go straight to streaming before the buzz is killed.
We have too much exposition to ads and what's the next big thing, things move way too fast (for the good and the bad)

I understand the eagerness to justify why the sales decreased, but some of you are switching cause and consequence.
There is lesser physical gaming stores due to the decrease in physical gaming, not the other way around. That's something that's been shifting in every industry in the last, I don't know, 20 years, even more so after covid.
Also, there were less games released in 2024 but the decrease in software sales is 15% against 35% of physical copies. That's a huge drop, I can't see how one can clearly correlate a number of games released and the decrease when the raw numbers are this discrepancy.

The score doesn't include user's review scores, which are usually extremely biased and emotional (full of 10s and mostly 0, with users that didn't even play the game, only hoping onto the hate train).

@Grim omg, this event took some life out of me until I completed, I found it hard to achieve and for being so short, gave me some anxiety I wouldn't be able to complete it haha

So hyped for the new booster pack! I haven't had a new card (or even a repeated EX or something) for so many days now, I'm getting a little bummed, this will certainly bring some excitement back!

I love that they are implementing more solo battle! I agree there isn't enough game yet, but just like pokemon masters EX, they probably will be implementing more as time goes by, it's such a huge success, I don't see how they would miss this opportunity.
Even pokemon go (never played myself, but I follow news every now and then) they started off without gyms and a bunch of other features.

Now that's a HUGE win for TPC!

@Dee123 I think the whole point of the article was to show how they bet on the new (at the time) system, that was nothing close to being one of the most successful consoles ever.
No one could predict how well the Switch would do in 2018, especially after how terrible the Wii U was.
For Civ VII nowadays though, it's a done deal

@Olliemar28 man, preferring the PS1 over the N64 is def not rare for a lot of Nintendo fans as well lol

I like the story, the style, the combat, the dialogue is very funny, but I got stuck a few times not knowing where to go and with no indication whatsoever. Then you have to backtrack and talk to everyone in the hopes of finding out where to go.
3rd time this happened I dropped the game, but I'll try again now, it is very good besides that

@JSC016 THIS! Awesome remake that works outside the context of videogames even, but man, the tackyness of the original is so good, makes us go back to a time where videogames were so much less "dense" than they've become

I feel like the games are getting better after Sun/Moon, for me that was the absolute lowest point in the series.
Hoping for the next Legends to be a hit, that was the best pokemon game ever made.

I remember being absolutely addicted to this game as a kid. Just tried to play it again last month and couldn't get into it, it's a little repetitive to my current taste. And 30 dollars is way overpriced. Who knows when it gets on sale in the future I'll give it a try

All Metroids, especially the Prime series are amazing. This is my least favorite one, but would buy a remaster in a heartbeat
