Re: 'Spine' Brings Gun-Fu To Switch 2

Gamer83

Definitely interested in this game but would probably lean more towards getting it on PS5. Will pay close attention to the Switch 2 version, though, because if it ends up being well done, having it to play on the go as well as a tv would be nice.

Re: Round Up: Multiple Switch 2 Game Pre-Order Trailers Released

Gamer83

Between the Switch 2 Mario Kart bundle, accessories like the pro controller and memory card as well as pre-orders for games on other consoles I own, I had to limit my spending a little, so of the third party games only pre-ordered Street Fighter 6 since I have most of these games on PS4, 5 or Series X. SF 6 is actually a triple dip but I love that series and having this one on the go will be awesome. For people who haven't played it, I can't recommend Yakuza 0 enough, my favorite PS4 game after RE 2 remake, but I understand why some who prefer to buy games physically are hesitant. Sega, as usual, making weird decisions. Still, anybody who can look past the game key card issue will get a gem.

Re: Poll: So, Did You Manage To Get A Switch 2 Pre-Order In? (North America)

Gamer83

Got in line at GameStop about 1 1/2 hours before it opened and pre-ordered the Mario Kart World bundle, an NS2 Pro Controller, 256 GB card (I'll get one with more memory later but that will be good for the first few months) and Street Fighter 6 for launch. Also pre-ordered Donkey Kong Bananza. From what I can tell it seems Nintendo is allocating the bundle (makes sense) more than anything else. The store I was at had 40 bundles available and 20 of the NS2 by itself. People posted pics of the flyers on Twitter and it seems to be a similar situation at all GameStops.

Re: Nier Automata's Dev Was "Ordered" To Ignore What The West Thinks Of His Game

Gamer83

I don't care who was responsible for the decision, I'm just happy it was made. Not that Japanese companies can't make good games with a heavy Western influence (Resident Evil and Street Fighter are two of my favorite series of all-time) but my favorites have always been the ones that don't feel like a checklist of what the West wants and, in some cases, even have content that offends the West somewhat.

Re: UK Charts: A Strong Xenoblade Debut Can't Escape Assassin's Creed's Shadow

Gamer83

Debuting at second would seem pretty good for a franchise like Xenoblade. Will be interested to see how it sells long term. I could see it dropping hard very soon but picking back up when Switch 2 is out, if it actually does benefit from some upgrades via backwards compatibility. I'm not very far in, but I love what I've played and could see this being my favorite XC when all is said and done. It'd be cool to get another game more like this one, so hopefully it sells well enough over the long haul.

@Smithicus
It's Assassin's Creed, those games almost always do good numbers, I didn't expect anything less with this one. Even if I'm not particularly interested in it.

Re: Talking Point: Will Metroid Prime 4 Get A Switch 2 Release?

Gamer83

People are making this far more of a discussion than it needs to be. Plenty of early PS5/Xbox Series X games were cross-gen releases and nobody got confused. If you're buying a Switch 2 early, it makes sense for Nintendo to have a native version of the game, that will probably run a bit better, for the new hardware. And for those who won't be upgrading right away but want to enjoy MP 4, they'll have the option as well. Very simple.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Confirmed For Switch

Gamer83

This was the last big Wii U game that needed to be ported over to Switch and it's awesome that Nintendo made it happen. I never played this because I sold my Wii U before it launched. This and Bayonetta 2 were the only games that made me regret selling the system. Going to be awesome to have all the XC games on one platform and it pretty much cements the Switch as my favorite Nintendo system ever.

Re: Poll: Are You Bothered By The Frame Rate In Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom?

Gamer83

It's there just like in the Link's Awakening remake, but also as with that game, it's doesn't bother me to the point I'd stop playing. Hopefully Switch 2 will fix the problem because this is definitely a game I see myself revisiting after I complete it the first time. Might as well take advantage of the new hardware that probably isn't far off.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (28th September)

Gamer83

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom - When it was first announced, I was concerned the echoes would take away the feeling of control from the combat, having others do the work for you. Recent trailers somewhat alleviated that fear but still needed to play it. About 6 hours in, I love it and can't wait to see how it progresses. It's different but still feels very much like what I expect from combat in 2D Zelda and I got the power up that brings it even closer (I'm sure most know what I'm talking about but still could be considered a slight spoiler so I won't say anymore). The creativity echoes bring in general is great. All sorts of different way to traverse Hyrule, making it more fun than ever to explore.
My favorite part, however, is having the traditional dungeons back. This could be the way for the series going forward. The 3D entries for open world freedom, 2D for the more 'classic' Zelda experience.

@TheBigK
Outside of the opening area of the game at Hyrule Castle, haven't noticed any frame rate issues either. Still early on but nothing distracting at all yet. Granted, I also don't play games on Switch and expect the best performance, especially at this point in its life cycle. The hardware is what it is.

@NintendoWife
Yeah. Ever since I was a kid, the fall/holiday seasons that see a new LoZ are always a little more fun.

Re: Fantasian Neo Dimension Rated By The ESRB

Gamer83

I don't usually enjoy turn-based games but I'm going to give this one a try because I want to support Mistwalker's return to consoles. The Last Story is one of my favorite Wii games and Lost Odyssey was a top 360 release.
