Re: Poll: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Is Out On Switch 2 And Switch This Week, Will You Be Getting It?

Elbarbo

It's a Switch game, part of my Switch collection (and probably among my favorite exclusives), I pre-ordered a physical version of it on Nintendo Switch system. But, once installed on my OLED Switch device, I will "switch" my real play on Switch 2 instantly with the upgrade XD
On Switch 2, like PS5, I'm now just buying fully digital games...except collectors like a Xenoblade, or something like that. Happy gaming week to everyone, it's 8 years and a half I'm waiting for this Metroid Prime 4.

Re: Switch 2 Exclusive 'Drag x Drive' Scores Its Second Major Update, Here's What's Included

Elbarbo

@StarCollector You forgot Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour. If we talk about exclusivities, there is still Chillin' by the Fire, Handy Hockey (lol), Survival Kids, and Fast Fusion. I don't count Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster, or Japanese exclusives. Some of them may be temporary, we don't know at the time.
People forget that Nintendo delivers other games too this year, 2025 is not a Switch 2 exclusivity, you can play those games on the new hardware, so people should think a bit...

This Drag x Drive is relly cool. Better personality for characters, and more refined caracteristics for their statistics could be a good choice, and other arenas too. But it's a good game (like Welcome Tour). It's a bit "niche", but good.

Re: Gallery: The 'Samus & Vi-O-La' amiibo For Metroid Prime 4 Could Be The Best Yet

Elbarbo

In France, I paid "Viola" and the normal Varia Suit Samus of MP 4 Around 50 euros. Some are arguing, but to find figures of this quality with NPC technology inside for thos price is rare. Th first Amiibos cost around 14 euros, but there was 12 years ago. The quality is almost three times better, and a bit of inflation can explain this. The two figures are probably the best they've made since the beginning of amiibos ! You can't see it in the pictures, but Samus has beautiful metallic reflects.

Re: Metroid Prime 4's Sweet New Trailer Builds The Hype For Next Month's Launch

Elbarbo

the bike looks awesome and I'm excited to play it
Done.

Is this the game that had a 2 hours long Direct from Sakurai ?
Can we drift by pressing "the button" while riding this bike ?
Can we hurt other people and jack their bike, then evading from policemen ?
Can Samus Twerk in this game ?

Very impatient to play this game, after such a long time...

Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Finally Gets A Release Date, Open World Confirmed

Elbarbo

So much complaining and people that judge a game before its release...
MP need to do something different, 15 years after the 3rd entry. Open areas (because when you play MP Remastered, you feel that the game is "tight" and not modern, even if it's still a good one).
Using vehicles like Halo is a step, Samus need to pitot her space vessel too.
New psychic powers are in.
Open spaces are needed, but not that desert that looks like Pokemon Scarlet XD
Nintendo rebooted the game because they wanted more quality, you'll have it in december, finally.
Let the game be played, and judge after.

Re: It's Official, The Mario Movie Sequel Is Based On Mario Galaxy

Elbarbo

@N00BiSH You're caricaturing my words, and the desires of those who want more in the future, it's not fair. The movie is not realistic at all, it's just graphically "powerful" (we're not with a Mario 1993 movie style XD). A Mushroom Kingdom like that to explore would be awsome for me. With beautiful music and animations.
Sorry, I'm not fluent in English, it's not easy for me to express what I feel. No offense, sir, but I find your messages are not in a good mood, if you want to be a bit more constructive, it will be well received.

Re: Nintendo Direct Announced For Friday, 12th September 2025

Elbarbo

We already know some exclusives :
-Legends Pokemon Z-A
-Metroid Prime 4 : Beyond
-Kirby Air Riders
-Splatoon Riders
-Tomodachi Life : Une vie de rêve (FR)
-Rhythm Paradise Groove
-Professor Layton and the New World of Steam
-The Duskbloods
-Hyrule Warrios : The Seal Chronicles

I guess a bit of Mario is coming.

Ah, and news about that Monolith Soft's old RPG waiting for an announcement...

Finally, I don't expect a lot of more games, but release dates.
I hope being a bit surprised and excited.

Re: Nintendo Now Officially Owns 100% Of Monolith Soft

Elbarbo

Rareware was my favourite studio back in the SNES and even more N64 period. I cried when I saw that Nintendo was no more their "owner" (they weren't, only 49%).
But even if I am a big fan of Nintendo, they mistreated Rare, their jewel.
Critisizing what they did with their platformer games (the best for me in that period, and for 10 years), not supporting Banjo-Tooie (my favourite), modifying Dinosaur Planet, "destroying" Conker (for the best !? I would like to have Twelve Tales too).
Honestly, Rare was looking for other partners at that time. The Stamper brothers were the gods, but they left videogame early after that. Owning Rare without Stamper Bros. is not the same thing as owning them in the golden era.
They maybe would have give the IP to other (like microsoft do : Battletoads, Killer Instinct, and Perfect Dark on X Box One/series aren't made by Rare...).
I dream of having Stamper Brothers, and still all their legendary musicians working on their titles (but it's easier for that part).
If Switch had games from the golden Era of Rare...my God !
But we can say that with other franchises that disappear (F-Zero / Starfox/Pilotwings/1080°/Wave Race/Excite...Bike XD, etc...Donkey Kong !!!)

Re: Ubisoft Closes Two Studios And Will Reportedly Lay Off Hundreds Of Employees

Elbarbo

Thanks to @Farts_Ahoy for a rare smart commentary.
Ubisoft is massive, has a lot of studios, employees, and IPs.
They're in a bad situation because of their politics (Ubi Connect, Microtransaction, NFT, etc...).
Better not talking about sexual harassment or things like that, nobody knows if it was rare cases or not, like in a lot of companies. Reading people being happy about the fall of Ubi just because it's a giant is painful. So easy to get happy when you're not concerned.
It's an enterprise that needs to be restructured. The game developement is a priority.
They do good games most of the time. The reason people say they're mediocre is because those games look the same in their structure, or don't feel new, and are bugged from the beggining. Those games need to restart with more soul inside, and carefully developped, until the end.
Ubisoft needs to live again, not dying. Just a matter of cycle. they took bad decision over this decade, and they need to focus on what could help them becoming anew a great enterprise.
Layoffs are unevitable, before restructuring and employing anew. That's the same cycle for everything in life, so why bashing Ubisoft ?
I know why. Mankind is snarky, it's easier than thinking of what could be done for the best.
I'm not fluent in English, sorry.

Re: UK Charts: Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake Crashes Out Of The Top 40

Elbarbo

For sure European people doesn't have any taste, Nintendo Switch undeperformed compared to PS4, for example. We could have twice the number of sales, at least, if it performed the same rate than the rest of the world. I'm talking about hardware sales.
Excuse my English, and the not subtile thought.

Re: Rumour: A Rayman Remake May Be On The Cards At Ubisoft

Elbarbo

Excuuuuuuse me Princess, we don't really know what happened with Michel Ancel before he left the company. Even if it seems true that it was tyrannic at this time, we don't have any proof, and only one side of arguments.
If you think that every game is cook in a perfect and clean kitchen, you're worng. Even our legend Miyamoto had its bad times, but I don't see anybody say "I won't forget and never buy a Mario Game again...".
I think it's an too easy way to deal with the matters, without intelligence (sorry, I don't say that smoothly in English), but it's a right, of course.

Re: Pour One Out For The Modchip Seller Facing Nintendo In Court Alone

Elbarbo

@KBuckley27 It's because you follow an ideology instead of respect of laws and principles. It's based on emotion, and nothing logical. I won't excuse every stealing just because it's made by a nice (or not) poor guy. What's your opinion if the seller was rich ?
We don't know if the man says truth or not, but we will see.

Re: Japanese Charts: Mario Kart Speeds Back Into Top Three As Switch Stays In Control

Elbarbo

@link3710 PS5 Pro was announced after the fall, ans this fall came after the price increased of the standard model of PS5.
Waiting the PS5 Pro doesn't explain everything; and the poor amount of Astro Bot sold follow this weak time for PS5.
We will see half November if it was only that.
I hope for Sony it's nothing much, but the society doesn't take care of Japan's customers. They're leaving Sony more and more at every new generation of Playstation System.

Re: Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom Overview Trailer Gives Us Another Tasty Look

Elbarbo

@Notsoavid Yes, it's called "Cadence of Hyrule : Crypt of the NecroMancer", this time...

Nintendo always makes this kind of overview trailer, and a lot of publicity one month and a half ahead of the relaease, for the most of their games.
Even M&L, and Jamboree had publicities this month.
Everything is normal.

Re: Super Mario Party Jamboree Will Include Pauline As A Playable Character

Elbarbo

Pauline is great, but...Ninji is better as a non-gender character (lol). I like Ninji.
But (again), I prefer Rosalina (Harmonie, in French).

I agree with @Poodlestargenerica ! More variety of rules and customization is welcome, beacuse there is frustrating things for me in those games. I win 80% of mini-games, have 1 more star in the end and........lose with the ending roulette of random retributions (always in favor of CPU, even if we're 3 humans...). It's something that angers me, and I almost never play alone because of that, even if inside me, I would like to do it.

I even want an organic world, just for the fun of being in a world, more than in a "select mode" style. The first "Super MP" was a bit like that.

Excuse my english.

Re: Random: Everybody 1-2-Switch! Was A Best-Seller In July 2024

Elbarbo

1-2 Switch and Everybody 1-2 Switch are nice games.
They're juste made for special circumstances.
If you eat raw meat with a spoon, you won't like it, but if you wait for having a good knife, and some cooking, you will taste it differently. This is this kind of game.
Games have different specificities, and those ones are not made for being bought alone as your next game to do. Just pick it with some friends.
Just a bad point : they're too expansive at launch (50 and 30 euros, respectively).
Reading commentaries made me laugh XD

Re: Nintendo Of Europe Completes Plan To Merge Subsidiaries

Elbarbo

Stephan Bole is French, and the top 5 best selling games every week in France is for Nintendo (physical releases).
The Nintendo store at Japan Expo in Paris was a huge success.
Or why not in Switzerland, but it could cost a lot coming for a lot of europeans, maybe. I guess it depends of the market.
Nintendo underperformed with Switch in Europe, compared to PS4 sales. It's Sony's Territory...I hope more light for Nintendo here, in the old continent.
