@Dr_Wright I have the original and have for years. It gets used 1-2 times a month, and the kids love playing mk and need for speed with it.

Pass. For my pc gaming, I use a Xbox controller if I’m not using keyboard/mouse. I have no complaints with that ever. Still haven’t purchased a switch 2 pro controller yet, but will when my original ones need replacement.

I l bought the game key card, going to play it and beat it this weekend, and sell it next weekend. I expect it will cost me $10 for the rental and someone else will get it after me. Been great so far, but I’m not a fan of the genre anymore and only playing because fomo

Every few months, like this past weekend, i take out both ds and 3ds and bring them for car trips/weekend camping. Kids have swtiches, but the novelty of the ds’ keeps them fighting over them for a few days. But, again, they have switch’s (s2now) and ds’ is just a novelty to them.

My day of gaming and prob in order…Minecraft in like 10 minutes, then shape of dreams with a friend before we play a couple hours of bg3. Almost done. Then back to switch gaming, so either Minecraft/fortnite/ffvii remake. Almost done that as well.
Tomorrow is arc raiders day, but that’s in the evening, the morning is about the same.

Spider-Man/venom max carnage is one of my fav games of my childhood, and I sadly don’t have a copy for my modded snes and will be buying this day 1. I would have already today after seeing trailer. I’d love to get a cabinet of these with the to go with my other ones too

First thing I did for my switch 1 was get a grip to use, same for my 3ds. I waited for Xmas and got a satisfye grip/case for switch 2, and it’s best one I’ve had yet. Makes playing/holding s2 just like any other controller and it’s dockable.

This has my interest, but I really only want to play mgs3, and is it worth just playing the remake or the original version now?

@DTfearTheBEARD even though I might agree, I doubt we will see any price drops. They are probably about out of parts for switch 1, and it might not be cost feasible to continue making an older system especially when parts for new ones are going up in price too. I also have no desire to ever play switch 1 after using a switch 2. Already sold my old ones and moved on.

I’m very always wanted o like this game, but could never get into it. I prefer 3rd person, which explains my arc raiders addiction. But I’m still happy it come to switch 2, I already tried it out it def plays better. I’m going to give warframe a go again but that wasn’t for me either.

The duskbloods. 1st party stuff. Pretty much wverything I want to play is already on something else and switch ports are nice, but I just want new games. I’d like to see arc raiders on switch 2, my kids are very interested but I have 1 steamdeck and 4 switch 2s.

@The_Nintendo_Expat as a gamer playing in a games since contra/astroids as a kid, I have been completely hocked on arc raiders as it gives a new experience to a shooter. Been a nice break in between nightreign, bg3, and Totk which is what I’ve been playing lately. Shooters aren’t for everyone, but people can still enjoy them.

@Hwatt or you sit down for 2-3 hours a couple times a week with a friend and make your way through it, and large chunks make it seem like you accomplished something. We all have different play styles. I’m playing arc raiders as my 30 minute time kill

1st year Xmas for switch had odyssey, botw, and mk8. Mkw, dk, and mp4 just doesn’t have the same recognition. However, still fastest selling console and I’m sure Nintendo has things just waiting for a lull.

My weekend gaming, playing bg3 with a friend, arc raiders with 1 son, Mario party/fortite with other kids, and totk when I get time to play by myself. And since I’m on a mini vacation, I’m a bit surprise my steamdeck hasn’t blown up from the amount of bg3 and arc I’ve played this week

After buying like 5 games over past 2 weeks, nice to have a week to play them
Already have rogue pop for my steamdeck and I just couldn’t get into it. Maybe I’ll give that a go again but I’ll prob just being playing mp4 and t2.

@OrtadragoonX duke nukem forever was a decent game that couldn’t live up to the hype. It wasn’t perfect and has flaws, but in no way was deserving of the $5 price I paid for it new.

It’s an 8.5, any other reviews are just being petty. It’s got a couple issues, but it’s a great game overall and there is no way it would live up to the hype was it had, which is why half life 3 won’t ever come out. Prime 4 is hopefully just retro getting started. I hope the took some criticism and mp5 would be even better.

Before switch 2, I was using my steamdeck more and more then my switch the last couple years. Now I’d say I’m like 50/50 between them and I’m about 2 hours from my weekend of gaming…Metroid and nightreign and on my playlist.

I’ve almost picked this up a couple times on my steamdeck, but now I’m happy I’ve held off, being on switch, means my whole family will have easier access to it vs my pc/steamdeck. And to hear it runs decent, I guess I’m happy I held off, it’s not like I’ve had a lack of games to play anyways.

I’m happy for RE fans, but it’s not on my list since I’m just not really a fan of any zombie game when it comes down to it, but if I am going to play something, left 4 dead plays just fine on my steamdeck

I have to admit I’m not completely sold on the art style, but the skateboard mechanics and camera have me adding it to a wishlist

To think that prime 3 was 18 years ago makes me feel old. Was an adult playing games then, still adult playing games today

I normally don’t buy into fomo, but I got this day 1 and all other games are waiting for me to finishing this now. Probably the best metroidvania ever.

Steam does it right, I can still play half life today that I bought years ago, in my steamdeck or pc. Apple does it right, I can still use music from 25 years of purchases on each apple device I get. Nintendo said with switch they were starting over. That this was the future. Maybe Nintendo learned something from these companies because switch 1 vs switch 2 shows us that they may have…but switch 3 will really tell us that someday.
As for any media; there are vhs I probably couldn’t find on dvd. Music on records that’s not on cd. There are plenty of games that I’ll never have the chance to play because it wasn’t preserved in some way either.
I 100% do not agree with losing a digital purchase either, but other then free to play style games, I can’t think of 1 game I’ve ever lost due to removing it from my library on steam/apple.

The basketball will mostly be the only one of those I’ll be picking up, maybe 1 or 2 of the others, but I’m happy acclaim is trying something like this for gamers, and not a wanna be AAA attempt at a free to play Fortnite ripoff.

Other then to play nightrein on my steamdeck, I haven’t touched anything but a switch 2 since launch day. Mostly playing switch 1 games, but a bunch of mkw and dk, and now hollow knight, but mainly, I was just waiting for what we got, a better switch. All my games have no load times now and Nintendo will continue to do what they do, make awesome games. So 2 years from now; when we paying new Mario/zelda/metroid/dk/smask/kart etc.. all for switch 2, it will still be selling like crazy. And if 3rd parties deliver, then it will replace my steamdeck for the next few years as well.

Tried to beat it from beginning a few times, get like 15-20 hours in and stop. Go back a couple years later and try again. 3x was enough. I will be getting Silksong and probably doing the same over this generation. I love the art style and gameplay more then I love metroidvanias nowadays.

I was right to hold off last week when it was on sale for steam, I’d rarther just keep my switch library growing since my ox is getting dated and my steamdeck isn’t used by anyone else, where as we have 4 switches in active use at the house.

Punch out on the Wii is one of the main reasons I keep my Wii U. Hands down the best of this style game, music, gameplay, everything just perfect. This might be fun, but it’s not punch out.

I couldn’t get into the 1st one due to the controls and the fact that a Wii and any light gun game is better. I still have several games for when we get that itch, but gyro and joystick controls just take away from the fun these games are. Mouse controls would atleast make it playable, but still not the same as light gun.

Both are great consoles and I own them both. I don’t see any reason to have any other console, my Xbox is just a dvd player, and my ps5 hasn’t been turned on in months…my pc gets used, but I play more on my steamdeck now.

Yesterday’s gaming, steamdeck/switch. Today’s gaming and next few years most likely, steamdeck/switch 2. Both dockable, easily portable. I’m on vacation this week, and other than alternating between each when the other isn’t charging, my 6 month unused ps5 is going up for sale. And I know I don’t see myself using it much since I mainly used it for the ps portal. Which, I would sit by a lake, using my iPhone data, to play games. Worked fine for single player, not for multiplayer. But a steamdeck is basically a ps5. I play lots of ps5 games on it and they all play just fine.

I have one in my garage and is used only for my n64. Just doesn’t look right no matter what use to play it on a 65” flatscreen, looks terrible. but on a 27” crt, looks amazing. I force the family into retro gaming every couple months by unhooking the other consoles and only having nes/snes/genesis/n64/atari 2600/or our arcade cabinets to be used, instead of the switch’s. Sadly the wii/u has become retro to us as well the last few years. Switch killed it in our family. But we rather play Wii sports over switch sport for some reason…
Btw, next week is retro week, and I think the n64 and snes will be the console of choice, going on vacation and it’s easy to only have other things hooked up instead.

I have played exactly 1 race of the single player…and then only played the online knockout mode. Best thing they’ve added to Mario kart, ability to race for longer then 1.5 minutes per race.

@citizenerased I always wanted to play rdr2 since rdr1 was one of my fav ps3 games, just never got around to it. Last fall, I got sucked into rdr2 and beat it in about 100 hours and immediately bought rdr1 just to replay for the story. Wow, is it dated and almost unplayable when compared to the improvements in rdr2 in every way.

Anyone who ever wondered why Ubisoft was ever popular, this series is one of the answers.

I’ve been ghosting it pretty much for a year. Since totk and about 150 hours of that, and other then playing with my kids, I havent touched it. My steamdeck on the other hand…well that hasn’t been down for a couple years now. I’m about done cleaning up whatever backlog I’m going to and I’m ready for switch 2 next month.

Unless I’m playing something with my kids, I’m not touching my switch until I get a S2. Playing oblivion mainly but a couple other backlog games to finish in next couple weeks on my steamdeck before I spend the summer playing my new switch.

As little as little as I use my ps5, and as much as I play my steamdeck and switch, I see myself selling my old switch for a switch 2 very soon, and probably selling my ps5 and its portal since for last few months, I only power it on to claim the free games each month. But after that runs out in June…I am not renewing, and switch 2…

Sadly. I need to keep geometry ways installed on my steamdeck because it is by far my favorite of these game ever. I still play it nearly every day, 3 runs and then I quit, because if not, it becomes an addiction.

It’s actually mtg weekend, so no video games, but 6-8 hours of commander with the guys

@Princess_Lilly I bought a ps5 digital. I have no need for discs. I only got one for my back catalog, ability to use a portal. What games are being released that I need to own a disc of? Why can’t there be
An option for people like me who are fine with owning games digital. My steam library has been digital for years, but I can still play almost every game I’ve ever owned(20+ years), on my steamdeck, or my pc. If anything, consoles need to get with the times.
And this from someone who buys all his music on apple, then burns copies onto cd still, since I still have multiple cd players I use. I used to buy and trade games and treat physical games like rentals. But now there isn’t a new game coming out each week, and most games need massive downloads no matter how much is on the disc.

I don’t think we should pay developers to make a game like this. I think it should be free and I refuse to pay $80 for a game that I buy only 1 time a generation. I’ll go back to paying for micro transactions in Fortnite and buying cod every year.

Now I fit in with the rest of the internet.

They can showcase both versions on switch 2, the old school and new hd. They did links awakening didn’t they?

@Darthmoogle yes they can. I know people who played the mp1 remaster as their first metroid, and only want mp4 now that they have seen it. Myself included. I don’t need to go through those again just to say it.

I’m losing g respect for all of this. Smash and its dlc wax how much? Mk8 and is dlc was how much? This looks like more game then those for the same or less price. I paid over $1000for my ps5, portal, 3 games, and 2 controllers. If you want a gaming pc that’s better then consoles, you taking $1000, add in a vr headset and accessories. But because Nintendo is joining the club, we all going to complain. Well, I’m probably selling my ps5 since look that duskbloods, and a switch oled, and will make money buying a switch 2.

I predict it now, smash ultimate gets the mk8 treatment. A huge update that adds 20-30 new fighters, levels, modes…maybe a reworked online, charge $50 or half price of the game, and it will buy Nintendo a generation to ignore smash and focus on mk___ and whatever else is coming to switch 2 in next generation.

As most people who play this will never know and all they will really know is the awesomeness that Tony hawk games are. And this will probably make whatever they do next stand out more too…since I think they rebooting the series, and if all they do is more remakes, underground next
