It doesn’t matter, it won’t be big enough and you will run out of space and have to start juggling what you want downloaded. My steamdeck with its 1tb still can only hold so much when baldurs gate 3 takes 137gb. My switch is no different. Since the n64 days, I’ve been deleting saves to free up blocks and that will never change. Every device I’ve ever had, pcs too, run out of storage and either you need to upgrade, or start deleting.
Dark souls. If I never played that game, I would have prob 10000 hours back. Had to sell my ps3 to stop myself, end up buying a new one for ds2. Had to get ds3 on ps4. Played both those, a bunch of eldin ring, blood borne, but still keep coming back to ds1. With it on switch, it’s been a right of passage for my kids as they get older. 2of my 4 still play it and we just finished playthroughs over Xmas break.2 more kids who haven’t even played it yet. I couldnt care less about any sequels, ds1 is the best game ever. Botw would prob be the next in this list, but no co op hurts…
I bought this as cartridge off eBay a couple years ago. Completely illegal I know, but totally awesome too. I would gladly have given Nintendo that money if they released it.
As someone in their 40s, been a gamer my whole entire life….have seen exactly why this stereotype exists. I still have friends that fit in this while I have wife/kids/career while they still live at home with their parents…in their 40s. I could say I have multiple cousins in their 20s who still live at home and spend more time in virtual worlds then in the real one. This has been a challenge as my kids get older to have gaming not be their life, but be a part of it. I tell them if it’s going to be their life, then get a job in the industry.
@JaxonH I’m going to add that I’ve recently started putting games like gow and spider man on my pc, but playing them through my steamdeck via WiFi. Works fine for single player. But I agree, steamdeck/switch is the best gaming combo since it was always pc/nintendo____ over the years. But my switch stole most of my gaming these past couple years, and now I can’t stop playing my steamdeck
I would love to see a switch 2.0 that is exactly what we want, just a more powerful switch with backwards compatibility. I think Nintendo’s biggest mistake was holding the Wii U back maybe 2 years longer then it should have just bevause the Wii sales were still going strong. If the Wii U came out 2 years prior, it could been so different. I hope Nintendo doesn’t wait too long before releasing its next gen console. My steamdeck has quite a backlog after just over a year of having it, and I barely touch my switch now.
@FawfulsFury expect for each of us, we didn’t all have same moments above. My biggest moment of the year has been how surprised I’ve been with baldurs gate 3. But that’s just one of the many games I’ve played. Just not on list above.
2023 was the first year since launch that my switch took a back seat. I played mostly games on my steamdeck and little on switch. Totk, Metroid, and Pikmin would be my only real time sinks that came out. Great year for all gaming, but I do think it’s time for a newer Nintendo console. Just upgrade the switch and keep doing what they been doing.
But really, mechextermination force is nearing 200 hours in my house with myself and 2 of my kids who have been obsessed with that game. They saw the new contra trailer, and were a little excited to say the least.
Smash only needs dlc like mk8 did. Add more fighters and stages. Next smash will be for next gen Nintendo. There should also be an option for sakurai to return, but as a fighter.
I’m sorry everyone, but digital is going to be the future. Unless everyone stops paying subscription services for games/movies, which is were the bulk of gaming money is going, why would a dev want to support wasting time/money on physical stuff when they make near nothing from it. This game will be on gamepass or whatever and the devs will make more from that deal then they could selling a few physical games. I will only be getting g this game day 1 if it’s priced cheap or as soon as it gets a sale. I don’t pay full price for something I only own. You are only renting it.
I’m fine with my switch for gaming and my iPhone/pad for everything else. Still going to have both devices, why waste resources on the apps for switch. But that’s me, until my switch is really an iPhone but Nintendo branded, I’ll need both devices since I don’t game on smartphones. That being said, I am happy my Xbox play dvds since it’s used more for that then gaming. I guess if my tv wasn’t a smart one, I’d need the apps on my Xbox but even before that, I always had a Roku player.
My fav zelda moment is still the storming of hyrule castle, followed by the possessed Zelda, beast ganon, horseback chase, and final ganondorf sword fight of twilight princess. I have a save file I keep just to replay that dungeon.
I like how they are constantly switching genres. This game isn’t really for me, but it does look fun. However, I just want heist 2. Dig 3 would be nice too. I did not like the card one, so I’m itching for a new steam-world game from those 2 series…
It’s one of those where no matter how good it turns out, how can you take hundreds of hours or story/lore spanning decades, and condense it into a 2 hour hollywood movie that captures the essence of the series?? I’m approaching it with cautious optimism:)
I did enjoy the uncharted movie, but that series was already an action movie. So it was the onscreen chemistry of the lead actors that made it so good. Link doesn’t talk…so…
@Lupaie79 first, this is pretty much what the Nintendoland Wii U game was. But with gimmicky controls. Fun, but just mini games. That vr game rec room is what you are describing. A gym of sorts, with tons of user created games to play, real people walking around. Someday that experience will be polished by real devs and it will be a great game.
These are just like a lot of complaints people have on gaming nowadays and nobody talks about…if you can’t get into the story, the same gameplay over and over, it makes it hard to enjoy playing every game in the series. I bought Spider-Man because n my steam deck. Played like 30 hours. Haven’t beat it. Bought miles morales, played maybe 10 hours since the gameplay is pretty much same. Dont care about story in either enough to finish. Why do I need spider man 2?
Sadly, this is also where I stand after 50 hours of totk, and also 400 hours botw(100% master mode etc…). I’ll never beat totk in the same way I did botw, burnt out of this open world genre. I am actually happy to hear assassins creed may have learn something.
Sadly, I remember all of the games in the series. The tie fighter one especially was a favorite. I also have no desire to replay any of these old games after replaying Jedi outcast. Some games, nostalgia is just fine. It’s why I won’t be getting the Jurassic park collections too.
@Toothball or if you buy a game they probably break even giving rest away. Any other sales is icing for developers. There is nothing wrong with advertising schemes…
That being said, is there 1 game worth buying to get 7 random shovelware’s for free?
I will be buying a snes controller just for myself to play this. The pro controller is just fine, but I miss the simplicity of only having buttons that you need and not the bulkiness. And there is going to be many years of this game being played in my house. With 4 boys and myself, we have multiple files going. We haven’t beat it yet, but I bet we have like 50 hours since Friday.
Buying both Mario and sonic at same time, and it will be a rainy weekend here, so with 4 boys, including myself, we will be putting these games to the true test.
I have very low expectations for this. there was a zombie game a couple years ago on switch that was meh but I still had quite a bit of fun because the base concepts worked. It had online and minor base building/raiding and was fun for 20 hours or so. cheap and fun is ok with me once in a while even if it doesn’t have big guest budget. The game just needs to work.
@Spoony_Tech I’m a bit different, where I only have 512 in my switch, and 1tb for my steam deck. Was on vacation last week where there is no internet, so I had to delete a couple games to download a couple the morning I was leaving, took like an hour to to this then good to go. With downloads in background I feel there is no real reason to complain anymore. My Xboxone is no different, out of space.
1tb cards are less then $100, I don’t know why anyone cares about much space games/patches take up. Memory storage will be an issue for every device you own forever, it has been for me. Always managing what games/apps and getting more storage no matter what device. If they needed100gb and they could make it eliminate load times or something, then I’m all for it.
What I do not agree with, which has always been an issue since pc gaming and internet, games are more and more getting released, and then finished. Which is why I do not buy games like this until I can get it on deep discount, or it has been fixed.
I don’t care about trying to “link” the story timelines together. I have always enjoyed the games as the separate entries they are. The couple of sequels are no different. Technically, oot and windwaker are in the same story right, well, I have never liked windwaker and I have always loved oot. 2 different games, completely different but yet the same, and enjoyed to different degrees.
This looks really good. I’ve just played tiny Tina’s on my steamdeck, and that crashed all the time. Constantly skipping frames and had to turn quit game and restart just to keep the game from slowing down after an hour of playing. Very impressed with bl2 on switch and will prob get this as well.
The same people who complain about how inferior the switch version is also play games like Mario and Minecraft. I’ve been playing with graphic settings for 25+ years on my pc to play games that either looked awesome or horrible depending on game/graphics card. But I could always play any game I wanted, even if it looked bad. But it played fine and isn’t that more important then worrying about his hair moving or his eyes blinking?
@KnightsTemplar I hate to agree because of the hate I’m going to get, but even something like fast racing rx and how awesome it plays and looks, I end up bored after 2-3 races. yes, a new modern fzero done right might be what fans of genre want, but will it really sell is the question. I think fzero99 is a test to see if people really want a new fzero.
@sleepinglion which is why I will wait for months to pick this up, patched and running smooth with all fighters included. I stopped with most games day 1. everyone else was paying $100 for early copies of starfield, I picked up fallout 4 for $5 on my steamdeck. There are plenty of games out there that not much demands day 1 purchases…especially at prices they asking for unfinished games.
As a 41 year old gamer, I accept that most video games are taylored towards my kids more than myself. I loved the newest Kirby, it has been a lot of fun with my kids. That being said, what I love about Nintendo is I’ve always seen them as the games that kids play during the day, and parents stay up at night playing.
@Captain_Toad I know ive played that one few times over, but I can’t go back to a 3ds after using a switch. I never even finished samus returns in a hope it will get a switch port someday
This game should have has co-op. It’s right in front of us, with the hero’s helping link the whole time. Souls style co-op with yiga clan being invaders and friends could be either the heroes or even just a hyrule solider. the game needs nothing else. Even just being able to have 1 person locally play co-op would be great.
I’ve only played one decent punch out clone, 3ds rage of gladiator, or something like that. It was a lot of fun and played very well, but it still wasn’t punch out. Wii punch out is def my favorite and I’d love to see either a port or a new entry.
@HotGoomba that ended with the gc/wii era and lost it fun once assassins creed took the spotlight. I loved the concept, but those magnets were never fun for me. I forced myself to play 1,2, and 4, then gave up until odyssey, played like 10 hours and stopped that too. I am looking forward to a prince of Persia revival:)
As long as you play any other then 3rd one, they all the same. Just a fun, magical, little adventure series that’s better with friends. But with the gameplay, not much has changed since 1st one, and aside from the basic combat, that’s not a bad thing. I will be getting this, I had no idea it existed until today.
I picked up Halls of torment and loved that. Way too short. Wish there was as much content to that as vampire survivors has. But I just don't enjoy the different style as much as I do the traditional twin stick bullet hell games like geometry wars retro or dead nation, both of which I played recently as well. My only complaint I guess about vampire is at like 15 min through rest of level, I almost don’t need to move and can just stand and let enemies die against my character, and then I get to red death and die instantly. Haven’t beaten that yet…
@johnedwin I’m one of those who got bored with it. 1000s of hours of souls1, but none of the others have grabbed me like that one did. Played all of them, but been less impressed by each one. However, totk probably ruined most other open world adventure games from now on as well due to its awesomeness:)
@ozwally I have had mine for near a year, and have not had any issues with what you saying. Instead, games that were not supported, are now, and I have been playing games like Diablo 4 and Starcraft 2 with no issues. I love my switch, but am very satisfied with playing eldin ring and Spider-Man on the go.
Are there more levels to the bae game, or is the survival mode they only new levels? Buying it day 1, just wondering since I’ve gotv3 kids who loved this as well and thought it was Too short.
I love how we all want games like this to come to switch, they do, and people still complain. It’s a port of an old game. So what. We still play Minecraft. This game looks just fine from ps3 era. I was playing last of us on my ps3 couple weeks ago, and couldn’t believe how good it still looked on a 42” tv. If this port plays fine, im getting it because portability is more important to me then pixel count. I could get this on my steamdeck, but if we dont support games like these coming to Nintendo consoles, we will never get them.
I love how a game can still fly completely under someone’s radar, then I see then trailer and after another, I’m completely sold on this and will be buying it as soon as I see it on sale.

@johnedwin I’m one of those who got bored with it. 1000s of hours of souls1, but none of the others have grabbed me like that one did. Played all of them, but been less impressed by each one.
However, totk probably ruined most other open world adventure games from now on as well due to its awesomeness:)
Re: Surprise Surprise, Lenovo's Leaked Handheld Looks Like A Switch
@ozwally I have had mine for near a year, and have not had any issues with what you saying. Instead, games that were not supported, are now, and I have been playing games like Diablo 4 and Starcraft 2 with no issues. I love my switch, but am very satisfied with playing eldin ring and Spider-Man on the go.
Re: TMNT: Shredder's Revenge DLC Lands On Switch This Month With Yet Another New Fighter
Are there more levels to the bae game, or is the survival mode they only new levels?
Buying it day 1, just wondering since I’ve gotv3 kids who loved this as well and thought it was

Re: Sifu Final Content Update Launching At A "Later Date" On Nintendo Switch
@Nin10doh of course, too sucked into totk and halls of torment on my steamdeck last couple weeks
Re: Talking Point: Will You Pay $50 For Red Dead Redemption On Switch?
I love how we all want games like this to come to switch, they do, and people still complain.
It’s a port of an old game. So what. We still play Minecraft. This game looks just fine from ps3 era. I was playing last of us on my ps3 couple weeks ago, and couldn’t believe how good it still looked on a 42” tv. If this port plays fine, im getting it because portability is more important to me then pixel count. I could get this on my steamdeck, but if we dont support games like these coming to Nintendo consoles, we will never get them.
Re: Surprise! Red Dead Redemption Blasts Onto Switch Next Week
My fav rockstar game by far. Could get this on my steam deck, but will be for switch to show the love.
Re: Sifu Final Content Update Launching At A "Later Date" On Nintendo Switch
I love how a game can still fly completely under someone’s radar, then I see then trailer and after another, I’m completely sold on this and will be buying it as soon as I see it on sale.
Re: Switch eShop's Massive QuakeCon Sale Includes DOOM & More For "Lowest Prices Ever"
Skyrim should be free by now for anyone who doesn’t want to keep rebuying it. Love to have it digital but just won’t pay for it again.
