Re: Talking Point: Would You Like To See More Streaming Media Apps On 'Switch 2'?

Donutman

I’m fine with my switch for gaming and my iPhone/pad for everything else. Still going to have both devices, why waste resources on the apps for switch. But that’s me, until my switch is really an iPhone but Nintendo branded, I’ll need both devices since I don’t game on smartphones.
That being said, I am happy my Xbox play dvds since it’s used more for that then gaming. I guess if my tv wasn’t a smart one, I’d need the apps on my Xbox but even before that, I always had a Roku player.

Re: Reaction: What's Your Gut Feeling On The Zelda Movie News?

Donutman

It’s one of those where no matter how good it turns out, how can you take hundreds of hours or story/lore spanning decades, and condense it into a 2 hour hollywood movie that captures the essence of the series??
I’m approaching it with cautious optimism:)

I did enjoy the uncharted movie, but that series was already an action movie. So it was the onscreen chemistry of the lead actors that made it so good. Link doesn’t talk…so…

Re: Metal Gear Solid's Launch Trailer Is Full Of Love And Hugs

Donutman

These are just like a lot of complaints people have on gaming nowadays and nobody talks about…if you can’t get into the story, the same gameplay over and over, it makes it hard to enjoy playing every game in the series.
I bought Spider-Man because n my steam deck. Played like 30 hours. Haven’t beat it. Bought miles morales, played maybe 10 hours since the gameplay is pretty much same. Dont care about story in either enough to finish. Why do I need spider man 2?

Sadly, this is also where I stand after 50 hours of totk, and also 400 hours botw(100% master mode etc…). I’ll never beat totk in the same way I did botw, burnt out of this open world genre. I am actually happy to hear assassins creed may have learn something.

Re: Poll: What's Your Switch Controller Of Choice For Super Mario Bros. Wonder?

Donutman

I will be buying a snes controller just for myself to play this. The pro controller is just fine, but I miss the simplicity of only having buttons that you need and not the bulkiness. And there is going to be many years of this game being played in my house. With 4 boys and myself, we have multiple files going. We haven’t beat it yet, but I bet we have like 50 hours since Friday.

Re: The Walking Dead: Destinies Goes 'What If' On Switch Next Month

Donutman

I have very low expectations for this. there was a zombie game a couple years ago on switch that was meh but I still had quite a bit of fun because the base concepts worked. It had online and minor base building/raiding and was fun for 20 hours or so. cheap and fun is ok with me once in a while even if it doesn’t have big guest budget. The game just needs to work.

Re: Mortal Kombat 1 Gets A New Update On Switch, Visual Improvements & More

Donutman

@Spoony_Tech I’m a bit different, where I only have 512 in my switch, and 1tb for my steam deck. Was on vacation last week where there is no internet, so I had to delete a couple games to download a couple the morning I was leaving, took like an hour to to this then good to go. With downloads in background I feel there is no real reason to complain anymore. My Xboxone is no different, out of space.

Re: Mortal Kombat 1 Gets A New Update On Switch, Visual Improvements & More

Donutman

1tb cards are less then $100, I don’t know why anyone cares about much space games/patches take up. Memory storage will be an issue for every device you own forever, it has been for me. Always managing what games/apps and getting more storage no matter what device. If they needed100gb and they could make it eliminate load times or something, then I’m all for it.

What I do not agree with, which has always been an issue since pc gaming and internet, games are more and more getting released, and then finished. Which is why I do not buy games like this until I can get it on deep discount, or it has been fixed.

Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Director (Sort Of) Explains What Happened To Sheikah Tech

Donutman

This is the perfect Nintendo answer.

I don’t care about trying to “link” the story timelines together. I have always enjoyed the games as the separate entries they are. The couple of sequels are no different. Technically, oot and windwaker are in the same story right, well, I have never liked windwaker and I have always loved oot. 2 different games, completely different but yet the same, and enjoyed to different degrees.

Re: Video: EA Sports FC 24 Graphics Comparison Shows Off Switch Performance & Resolution

Donutman

The same people who complain about how inferior the switch version is also play games like Mario and Minecraft. I’ve been playing with graphic settings for 25+ years on my pc to play games that either looked awesome or horrible depending on game/graphics card. But I could always play any game I wanted, even if it looked bad. But it played fine and isn’t that more important then worrying about his hair moving or his eyes blinking?

Re: Switch Online Exclusive F-Zero 99 Adds Queen League & Five Additional Tracks

Donutman

@KnightsTemplar I hate to agree because of the hate I’m going to get, but even something like fast racing rx and how awesome it plays and looks, I end up bored after 2-3 races. yes, a new modern fzero done right might be what fans of genre want, but will it really sell is the question. I think fzero99 is a test to see if people really want a new fzero.

Re: Ed Boon Excited To Share What's Next For Mortal Kombat 1

Donutman

@sleepinglion which is why I will wait for months to pick this up, patched and running smooth with all fighters included.
I stopped with most games day 1. everyone else was paying $100 for early copies of starfield, I picked up fallout 4 for $5 on my steamdeck. There are plenty of games out there that not much demands day 1 purchases…especially at prices they asking for unfinished games.

Re: Soapbox: Rayman Legends Blew My Mind Then Broke My Heart

Donutman

@HotGoomba that ended with the gc/wii era and lost it fun once assassins creed took the spotlight. I loved the concept, but those magnets were never fun for me. I forced myself to play 1,2, and 4, then gave up until odyssey, played like 10 hours and stopped that too. I am looking forward to a prince of Persia revival:)

Re: Vampire Survivors Tops The Switch eShop Charts In US, UK & Japan

Donutman

I picked up Halls of torment and loved that. Way too short. Wish there was as much content to that as vampire survivors has. But I just don't enjoy the different style as much as I do the traditional twin stick bullet hell games like geometry wars retro or dead nation, both of which I played recently as well.
My only complaint I guess about vampire is at like 15 min through rest of level, I almost don’t need to move and can just stand and let enemies die against my character, and then I get to red death and die instantly. Haven’t beaten that yet…

Re: Surprise Surprise, Lenovo's Leaked Handheld Looks Like A Switch

Donutman

@ozwally I have had mine for near a year, and have not had any issues with what you saying. Instead, games that were not supported, are now, and I have been playing games like Diablo 4 and Starcraft 2 with no issues. I love my switch, but am very satisfied with playing eldin ring and Spider-Man on the go.

Re: Talking Point: Will You Pay $50 For Red Dead Redemption On Switch?

Donutman

I love how we all want games like this to come to switch, they do, and people still complain.
It’s a port of an old game. So what. We still play Minecraft. This game looks just fine from ps3 era. I was playing last of us on my ps3 couple weeks ago, and couldn’t believe how good it still looked on a 42” tv. If this port plays fine, im getting it because portability is more important to me then pixel count. I could get this on my steamdeck, but if we dont support games like these coming to Nintendo consoles, we will never get them.

Re: Random: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Devs "Too Occupied" To Play Elden Ring

Donutman

After skyward sword/twilight, i played 1000s hours of dark souls and thought if only zelda was more like this. Then botw, after 1000 hours, I thought if only dark souls was like this. Then eldin ring. Except I only played about 50 hours of that because it just got grindy and didn’t feel like it was a big step in open worlds. Now I’ve played like 75 hour of totk, and can only think that no game will ever come close to matching this, well, until Nintendo makes botw3 and adds multiplayer to this.

Re: Soapbox: Getting The Master Sword In Tears Of The Kingdom Is Zelda At Its Best

Donutman

I didn’t read the article, it skimmed comments, and am just amazed at how epic this alone in the game is. I have been probably 75 hours and have barely touched the main story. The side quests and finding caves/wells, chasms, random bosses, I just can’t get back to the story. Too much to do, amd I didn’t think I’d like the weapon fusing, but i love making my own swords. Better than cooking. I’ll beat the story, someday….

I have to add, that OOT was the first game, and one of the few that brought a tear to my eye, but it was just because the it was so good at the time, and it ended. How can Nintendo keep making games that can hook a 14 year old just as much as a 40+?

Re: Japan's Switch Sales In June Were Reportedly A Record High For The Console

Donutman

I have no complaints with my switch. I have been playing as my main console since launch. My ps4, then xbox1, and then/now my steamdeck have been my back up consoles over same period, but my switch has more use then prob all 3 of those combined, and admittedly I hadn’t used since bayo3, and purchasing a steamdeck, but haven’t touched anything but totk since launch. It’s about the games, and switch has great games, and still more coming. I’ll get back to Diablo 4 at some point, maybe. Pikmin4 soon too…

Re: Microsoft CEO Says He Would "Love To Get Rid Of" Exclusives On Consoles

Donutman

Microsoft wants to control everything, and would love to have Mario and zelda on Xbox/windows. The only way they even still relevant is because they just buy everything and make it theirs. Nintendo pushes gaming/consoles forward. They might be behind on some things, but I’ll take their consoles over anything Xbox. Microsoft just wants people paying for their service, and wouldn’t be nice if Mario was next to master chief.

Exclusives give you a reason to buy said console, and today, sad for Microsoft, but my main consoles are my steamdeck and switch and the little I used my Xbox has been replaced with playing games like Spider-Man, uncharted, days gone, re4, even Diablo 4 on my steam deck, and using my Xbox controller to play them on my tv. Sony does give up some exclusives that even Nintendo won’t.

Re: Soapbox: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom's Busier Hyrule Is Making Me Miss BOTW

Donutman

I’ll have a hard time going back to botw with all the improvements totk has brought. I’ll enjoy the story, but just looking back at the 300-400hours in botw, with so little to do compared to totk, I’ll never actually finish tears. And I did most everything(including master mode and the bike), but 100% koruks. I really hope 1-2 years from now, we get a story dlc, and if I am running Nintendo, the ability to have local amd/or online co op. At the very least, reuse everything again for a 3rd installment and add multiplayer. The ability to play this game world with a friend is the only thing keeping this from being best game ever period
