These are the crimes of tomorrow and theft hurts everyone. Criminals should be punished according. I wonder where the 14 million comes from if he only had 300k? Unless a criminal is lying about how much he made and they proved it in court, so he was fined 14mil. Or if he only made 300k over 7 years, why not just get a job that because that’s not exactly a lot of money over that amount of time…
@Lizuka I have this issue with 4 switch’s in the house and we don’t own every game for every person. I’m constantly connecting my phone just to have a dlc pack to a physical game verify before being able to play while on the go. It should only need that if it’s been over a week of offline like the nes apps.
As a lifelong gamer, as long as you treat it like a hobby(unless it’s your job) and don’t let it run your life, then gaming is a great hobby that can be enjoyed by any ages. My late grandparents had multiple systems and used to fight over games to the pointy hey would buy a second system and game. I play with my kids and always thought I’d outgrow it. But instead, thanks Nintendo, gaming has only grown alongside me. Anything in moderation is ok.
@jorel262 they were not Lego sets, action figure castle play sets. Either way, they are all toys and would only be purchased to play with. one for example…
All of these people should watch toy story 2. Toys/games are meant to be played. If you actually want to play something you own, then do it.
I bought my kids a coupe Mario action figure sets, castles, a bunch of stuff, like $300 worth, a gigantic Metroid etc…. The guys at the store could not believe I was going to take the toys out of the box and let my kids use them. They be crying to see how a 5 and 3 year old play with toys.
@Ryan_Again I just keep replaying it under different conditions I set for myself. This time I’m playing hero mode, getting master sword and shield, then straight to Ganon. No divine beast help, no warping. I’ve already beat it 100% hero mode, with bike, and everything else except korok seeds, I’ll never 100% those. It ruined me for other adventure games except for the souls games.
Well, I guess I’m in the minority. Nothing about it makes me want to pay anything extra. I wouldn’t be getting the basic in first place if I did have to for the few online games we do play. The nes apps don’t get used more then 2x a year.
I am basically a bot for games like this. I enjoy playing them for free and don’t care about skins. I hold my own but get bored with the repetitive nature of fps so I don’t pay anything. But I am there to shoot. I love hearthstone, it’s the only game I’ve played for years on my iPhone. And it’s free
This game can’t keep a constant frame rate in our Xbox,, I’d be shocked it doesn’t crash every time you start a battle. If it runs good, then it will be a hit in our house.
As long as it is 100% backwards compatible, I’ll be getting whatever it is. If not, I’ll be getting it for me, but not investing in 4 others for my kids. They can play switch until they get jobs and move out and can sink thousands of $$ into the hobby for the family.
I’ve never been a big fan of anime, but just like Muramasa on the Wii, i feel like I could spend 100s of hours playing this. The game just looks amazing and if it plays anything like it looks like it looks like it does, day 1 purchase.
It was a great action adventure game in the Metroid universe. Was a little to linear for Metroid. Samus was a whiny little girl instead of a powerful woman. And you couldn’t skip cutscenes. The gameplay was fun. I liked the use of the Wiimote to fire. I 100/0% and have played it near 10x. Even though I enjoyed prime and dread, other m has more hours logged. Even more then super Metroid.
Wii sports or whatever game we taking about, are not games meant to be binge played for 23 of 24 hours a day. It’s meant to be picked up a couple times a week, for an hour or 2, for several months. My family still plays some Wii sports on our U every once in a while, but have been looking forward to this since we all use our switch’s now. Sports resort had a bunch of useless games. Sports club has paid dlc. This is a great game, just not to binge play, which is what most gamers seem to do nowadays.
@TryToBeHopeful after playing hundreds of hours as a teenager, I recently replayed this on my n64 and it does not hold up. The nostalgia of playing 4 players on a 19inch tv, with 4 people, playing remote mines and paintball with odd job…etc, will never be recreated. As for how the game plays, it does not hold up unless you just curious about it. But a remastered with all the qol improvements, that would be nice. But in no way would I be happy to replay this, as a switch online n64 with randoms, the game loses all its magic.
I’ll have to try this since any of our switch’s do this when playing in our launch dock but a Vizio tv. It never used to, but Vizio sent an update through, and ever since, there is a 4-5 sec black screen that occurs about 5-10 seconds after it’s docked, like it’s recalibrating or something. It does only right after being docked, and never again so we never really cared.
No regrets for any of the games or consoles I’ve bought on launch or in a first few weeks. I wish I bought a Wii U at launch. One day I hadn’t played my Wii for like 6 months. I had kicked my dark souls for obsession on my ps3. So I traded my ps3 for a Wii U and zombiu and a bunch of others. Great system that was used daily for years. Still hooked up next to our switch and Xbox 1 and gets more use then our Xbox to this day.
@twztid13 I’d say general use, I’m sure some games have drained it faster, but the kids get 3-4 hours of use each day from it. It is used mostly in handheld and I’d say 90% of it gaming has been. Same goes for my oled. I almost never dock that, just charge it every couple days from my controller charger.
My launch switch still has a 3-4 hour run time everyday. My oled I would say is like 4-5 hours of use every other day. I don’t know for sure since I don’t feel like either has any battery issues.
I actually was playing this yesterday on my Wii U hoping they would take out the couple gamepad features and port it over. Along with the rest of the series too, but this was a great game even with the weird gamepad functionality.
As much as I loved the first 2, I still haven’t picked this up. Full price just seems too much and I haven’t seen it on sale enough yet. From everyone’s opinions, I’m not missing much.
If your first zelda was botw, and you fell in love with the series and want to play them all, then why not start at the beginning. But don’t stop after 2 games and think that is all the series has to offer. Each one is its own adventure and some are some of the best games you will ever play.
I’m playing it right now with the intent to collect every memory, then defeat Ganon with no divine beasts help. Just felt like it been too long since we had last dlc and I got the bike on master mode, and haven’t played since. Then I hear about delay, which imo, it would have been a bigger surprise if Nintendo didn’t delay it. Oh well, I bet we get a couple ports this summer/fall to tide us over…
Yet you can still stream the Seinfeld episode cigar store Indian. The fact we can’t laugh at ourselves anymore means we are denied something like this game potentially.
The 3D was a novelty that hurt my eyes for the most part, until the new3dsxl launched. I always liked star fox, mk7, mario3d in 3D. But the upgraded 3D and bigger screen made it so I almost always played with it on. The ds/3ds family was my most played gaming consoles from the day I got the new launch fat blue ds, until I got my switch. I always just treated them as 1 console. I hope that switch is better over the 15+ year lifetime that the ds family had. I always look at how my n3ds has every possible zelda game it can, and your only missing the newer consoles releases, that switch can all easily run…someday.
There wasn’t an option for me. I don’t preorder. I have never not been able to buy a game I wanted on launch day, or any other time I’ve walked into a store to buy one. I also do not support kickstarter. I am not a bank and spend my money on finished products.
Looks nice but I would always prefer a hard shell case. As a kid, I had a soft bag style case for my gameboy fat and it’s accessories and games. I don’t know how I never broke a screen. An otterbox is the only reason why I have yet to break an iPhone/iPad over the years. My launch switch screen is fine, but it is missing several champs of plastic casing…but works like new
When your running down a hallway ans a zombie hits the window…then you come back an hour later and it breaks through and grabs you. Playing that at midnight for first time back then still gives me the chills. friend and I beat it in one sitting overnight and it will always be the best survival horror.
I like these shadow drops, even though none really interest me enough. People still complaining about nintendo trickling out games. They been adding a game a month since the expansion pack came out. At least. They have been doing it that way since Wii VC. It keeps people talking and hyped up, they check into the app just to see something new every couple months. If they just gave us 100s of games day 1, people would move on after 2 days onto something else. I like how Nintendo does things and no other developers can support a console like they do. I do not have the expansion pack either because it’s just not worth it when you already have a n64 with a lot of games, and a sega genesis mini. But if I didn’t, I’d sign up for a year, then cancel unless I forgot.
As far as I’m concerned, mk8 adding dlc after so long of being released, only proves that someday, like 8 years from now, we will get more smash bros ultimate dlc.
@WaveBoy I got it at launch. Had a discount through so only paid $350. No need to extra battery and it’s comfy enough for the 45 min-hour i play at most on it. Head phones I already had but add $50. Then I’ve bought like 10 games, let’s say $200. And a carrying case. So I guess I’m all in for less then $700. And my son and I use it for prob 10% of our actual gaming. By comparison, we own 4 switches, and prob 200 games. I don’t feel sick at how much money I have given Nintendo over the years, but I hard time giving Zuckerberg what I have. As for getting a psvr, it’s just not worth the investment for a couple games, which is why I don’t have a ps4 anymore, sold it for the oculus. I play 2 games on our xbox 1, dark souls 3 and geometry wars retro evolved. I’ll probably get eldin ring at some point. But it’s used for movies more then gaming. That’s what our switches are for.
@WaveBoy ps4..$400+ps vr at $500. Pc and vr about same. But quest 2 at $350 and it tracks you in your room and is a self contented headset. We are here on a Nintendo site, power doesn’t matter. Yes, it could look better, but my only real complain is I can’t sit down and play most games because I get motion sickness. After about 10 minutes playing a flying game, my stomach is ready to puke. But walking around playing a game, 0 motion sickness.
I admit, as a 40 year old gamer, I’ve waited 39 years of wishing for something resembling an oculus quest 2. And while I have had many hours of enjoyment playing vr games, watching a few Netflix shows, my switch still gets 90% of my gaming time. Beat saber would be better if it had more music. That’s what made guitar hero games so much fun, the amount of songs over all the games. Super hot vr is insane! Both walking dead and re4 vr are as scary and blood pumping as you’d expect. Even my 11 year old who plays it, plays rec room only. But maybe about the same switch>vr .
No sympathy here. Dead console as of 5 years ago for most Nintendo fans. My ds/3ds was the bulk of my gaming for years since it was a great console. Switch is better.
I just picked up an oled and I love it. it’s nice to play between multiple switches and use same save file on botw. Been replaying it and noticed this morning that my launch switch had last nights save for my oled when I played on the tv this morning. Cloud saves work well. It’s just nice to have a little bigger screen in handheld, since most of my gaming is that, and the battery last much longer.
Went to a midnight sale. There was almost 100 of us, all of which got one. Best console ever! We have 4 in the house now, with me upgrading my launch one to the oled 2 weeks ago.
I haven’t played since the dlc all released and beat entire game on master mode, about 100 hours for that one. I will never find all the seeds but I did start a replay on the 5year anniversary the other day. Only thing I am doing is collecting memories and getting master sword. If I finish 1 or all 4 divine beats , we shall see. Still one of the best games ever.
@Kiz3000 my new switch is the oled one, my kids have the launch one as of a couple weeks ago. I love the oled one and just wish it was a more powerful so I wouldn’t be tempted to upgrade it again…
And my launch switch is still going strong. Missing chucks of plastic around case, broken stand, a few Joy cons replaced, but it has 1tb sdcard and well over 100 games on it.best console ever. Which is why we have 4 of them.

If I finish 1 or all 4 divine beats , we shall see.
Still one of the best games ever.
Re: Anniversary: The Nintendo Switch Is Now 5 Years Old
@Kiz3000 my new switch is the oled one, my kids have the launch one as of a couple weeks ago. I love the oled one and just wish it was a more powerful so I wouldn’t be tempted to upgrade it again…
Re: Anniversary: The Nintendo Switch Is Now 5 Years Old
And my launch switch is still going strong. Missing chucks of plastic around case, broken stand, a few Joy cons replaced, but it has 1tb sdcard and well over 100 games on it.best console ever. Which is why we have 4 of them.
