Re: Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection Announced For Switch This February

Donutman

I'm happy that fans are happy, but after playing the 1st, 2nd, and 4th, I am done with this series forever. I miss prince of persia and would love to see that entire series ported over. Even the terrible next gen one would all be day 1 purchases. But we just keep getting the AC games which i am just exhausted with. The overall gameplay loop just became boring and I don't care about story as much as gameplay.

Re: Random: Pandemic Shooter's eShop Page Makes You Wonder If Anyone At Nintendo Checks These Things

Donutman

@GayusGayerni don’t know what the banned comment before was, but you are right. The vocal few have their voices turned up to 11, while the majority sit in silence, too busy working and having lives to worry about being offended by every piece of media out there. It’s why I don’t bother with social media and outside of a couple sites, I don’t comment much since I forget that that not everyone on the internet is rational. I’m sure I offended someone with this, but sometimes that’s what the truth does.

Re: Random: Did You Know About This Amazing Water Effect In The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild?

Donutman

@Johnion I know, using a hybrid system meant to be played anywhere, is weird. I forget that I am talking to a bunch of kids sometimes. Some people have lives that do not let them play 8 hours a day, suiting home in front of a tv and have more to worry about then if I can enjoy a game on a particular system. Some, like me, have been gaming for near 40 years and it’s great that I can still fit it into my life because of systems like switch, and even Wii U. Stopped plenty of arguments with the wife about me playing ps3 on the tv when I could use my Wii U.

Re: Random: Did You Know About This Amazing Water Effect In The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild?

Donutman

@Johnion I will willingly pay full price, for a third time, to have twilight princess on my switch, so I can enjoy it while on lunch breaks just as I have with my switch since launch. Putting some time into Witcher 3 right now. It’s nice to not be tied to a console hooked to a tv at home. And my Wii U is still there waiting for those occasional gaming sessions, that are getting further between since, well, since switch continues getting games.

Re: Random: Did You Know About This Amazing Water Effect In The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild?

Donutman

@Johnion what a world we live in that our ability to enjoy a game depends on a failed console with a bulky gamepad.

I enjoyed tp on Wii with terrible controls. It was better on Wii U. And I am looking forward to playing it at work on my lunch break in my switch someday, even if I have to hit a button to open a menu.
Just the fact I can play botw on the go make it better then the Wii U even if it kept all the features they axed.

Re: Square Enix President Knows You Hate NFTs Because You "Play To Have Fun"

Donutman

But as with the rest of the world, we will be looking into the wants of the few before the many since that seems like a future we want, instead of having fun.

I understand that people make a living off gaming, writing reviews, developing games etc…. Rest of us gaming is a hobby that passes time or is fun with friends and family. I guess it’s the 1% that live in their parents basements, spending their days gaming in the metaverse that nfts are for. Since I know they are not anything I care to learn or be a part of.

Re: Best Of 2021: How Accessible Are Zelda, Pokémon And Animal Crossing For Blind Gamers?

Donutman

@B_Lindz Nintendo’s accessibility comes from the fact my 3 year old has figured out how to botw, Mario. He runs around hyrule with my character, maxed out, beating enemies. My 5 year old can take down shrines and the divine beasts with me helping him along. My 10 year old is better then me and beats Ganon taking no damage, parrying most attacks. And then you got me, old man who acquired the bike on hard mode with some struggling. sorry to those who are blind, Nintendo is not thinking of you for its 100 hour action adventure game. But as far as I’m concerned, zelda is more accessible then pretty much anything we want to play on our ps/Xbox.

Re: Crysis Remastered Has Received Its Second Switch Patch, Here Are Full Details

Donutman

@HamatoYoshi I pay $50 for something, play it for a month of two, sell it for $45. Cost me $5 to play a game like outer world, and I have no intention on replaying. I’ve owned enough digital stuff that I don’t use and literally just wasted money on since I can’t get it back, I’ll go physical as often as possible. Other then that, I am the first to sell a game I own to pick it up digitally if the sale warrants it

Re: Random: In An Alternate Reality, Sega Published Pokémon

Donutman

I see it differently. Tetris and Mario were Nintendo killer apps, released before Pokémon. Pokémon would have died with the game gear since no one would have heard of it. A few years later, Nintendo would think it’s a good idea to do a game called Nintendmon and it would be a global success and we would even see a smartphone app. Pokémon released in like 96, and if anything, it gave Nintendo a reason to not upgrade hardware because it renewed interest in a dying system.

Re: You Can Get Your Official 'Year In Review' Switch Stats Now

Donutman

Not to shabby, just under 1000 hours overall, with Minecraft(as expected) being #1 this year since one of my sons tried to claim my switch last summer and that’s all we played all summer. 60/40 docked to portable. Dark souls and botw were 2 and 3 respectively. Not bad year of gaming since I played 64 games over 37 year prior.

Re: Poll: What's The Worst Legend Of Zelda Game?

Donutman

As expected, zelda 2 and triforce heroes. Zelda 2 Clark as terrible in an age where there was no internet and you just had to figure it out as a 11 year old renting games over the weekend. Triforce heroes had so much potential, but really was ruined by the forced multiplayer and not having competent bots. That was a fun game to play with friends, but I only even did that maybe 5 times. Just like Metroid fed force…only fun to play with friends, but a terrible Metroid game.

Re: Talking Point: Great Game, Poor Performance - When Does A Bad Frame Rate Not Really Matter?

Donutman

Most of the time, a frame from doesn’t bother me. The worst I’ve seen on a decent game was blighttown back on ps3. Still playable, but very noticeable. Never bothered me and I never felt like it affected the game for me. However, the worst I can remember was oblivion in ps3, where the game would crash when it rained in game. That’s unplayable and shouldn’t ever be allowed. I am content with a locked 30fps for most games. 60fps is nice for the faster paced games, but it has to be locked in because I think any drops are more noticeable.

Re: Talking Point: 5 Reasons That Nintendo Switch Is Still A Hot Product

Donutman

Reason 1…I am a nearing 40 year old gamer, with wife/kids/job and can still find time to play awesome games because of how accessible the Wii U, 3ds, and now switch are. I am the dad who spends his hour lunch playing a game at work with my kids at home, using FaceTime to chat. Lately, is either Mario maker, Minecraft, or dark souls. I am in my 5th playthrough with one of my boys, and we not stopping til we hit 7.

2-5 reasons, see above.

Re: Review: Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition - Three Classics In One Shocking Package

Donutman

@KillerBOB what’s funny is I was think about posting the same thing. It sounds more like we expected them to actually make the originals better, but all I remember is how sad the frame rate was on my friends ps2 playing this, compared to anything I was playing on my pc at the time. They could have actually made these games better, but sounds like a direct port with only hd graphics.

Re: Talking Point: Will Nintendo Abandon The Switch Concept For Its Next Console?

Donutman

I’m going to try to find article, but I remember reading, probably on this site, how after Wii/u/ds/3ds generation, NX was starting at 0. Switch didn’t have its name yet, but I do remember Nintendo stating that the next generation was going to be more like apple and iPads then independent console generations. I took that to mean that like a pc or iPad, the switch 2 someday will be able to play switch 1 games. A switch 3 will play 2 and 1 games and so on. I can still play Starcraft on my pc, as well as Starcraft 2. Like 4 PCs later, I can still play it. but that how I see the future of Nintendo.

Re: Kingdom Two Crowns: Norse Lands 'Premium DLC' Arrives Soon On Switch

Donutman

@CactusMan @aznable this game is like dark souls was. No hints, just a world to explore and figure out. Set up camp, clear a field, and kill rabbits…expand slow. Set up a farm and grow, get puke guys for fishing. Just go slow, it might take 15-20 days to leave first island. Soon, you be down to 6-7. explore multiple islands before trying to take down portals. Build strong walls and lots of archers. I’ve logged maybe 1000 hours between both on switch and usually pick it up every couple months for a while still.
