@Anti-Matter where I agree, bands and others have other have long been using fictional characters as a face for whatever they pushing. Example, the Gorillaz. But there are many more…
It’s one of those games that after 100 hours on my switch, I have not finished it. The side quests are as good as main stories in other games and there is just so much to do. I feel like a recent game is going o fall into this trap.
It would not surprise me at all to see them reuse the entire game world/engine again for a 3rd installment. I hope for a dlc announcement in a year or 2 at the very least. But from my 30 hours so far vs my 300+ hours in botw, tears is even better in every way you would hope a sequel should be. But there is still so much of love to see that I think Nintendo could implement into the game as it is, like the ability to have a friend in local/online, take control of any of the npcs, including a soldier, to co op the game. That is the 3rd game right there. Same world, just something completely new, as well as story of course.
I’m no expert player, but I cooked like 5 dishes to give me like 10 minutes each, and made my way through entire wind temple and boss, died 1 time but didn’t need fancy armor amd I’ve still only 5 hearts. I do r need to cheat, I have plenty of everything I need just from exploring the world. That being said, I’d rather Nintendo just give us good old cheat codes, things like infinite arrows, or rupees. It’s a singpke player game and how is it harming anyone. My kids take me game, use all my arrows. It be nice if I could just punch in a code and let them play with cheats on
At the time, if you could get used to the controls, skyward sword was a 10. It was better in most ways over twilight, and I personally loved the motion controls. I have control of my arms and understand how to swing a sword, smd had no issues playing ever. The bosses got over used, especially after multiple playthroughs, which you could say about botw too…. But the entire world was like a dungeon, and the actual dungeons are what we all missed about botw. The switch version is a 10 for sure, but they are all different games, which is what I love about the series. So I can enjoy each for what they all are separately. Nintendo, if I could just have all zelda games on my switch, I would have no need for any other consoles. 3ds was close, and Wii U but I can’t take it with me.
Nothing, 100% everything but seeds on hardcore, including motorcycle, and have over 300 hours. I’m done with it, well until next month. I replay zelda games a couple a year, with skyward and twilight bring most recent, but botw is just done until tears. I miss dungeons, and I hope tears fixes this. Shrines don’t count.
@RainbowStarFlower I never played drifter, but am getting breaker day 1. I couldn’t ever just pull trigger with 1st one, but the sequel looks amazing and I can’t wait.
@RainbowStarFlower and we can play it or not whether we want to because it’s our choice. I can’t play every game that comes out, but have enjoyed plenty of these style over the years. I’ve been on a 6 month switch break and pucked up deaths door on my steamdeck and really enjoyed that. But now I’m playing days gone and eldin ring just waiting for botw2 and I’ll be back to switch for a couple hundred hours.
@sanderev @MikeJones I’m not saying he is wrong, but I think there are nicer ways to state it. I had to double check to see if it was developed but whoever did sparklite, or jotun, because it reminded me of those games immediately. But any game is more of the same nowadays, just enjoy what’s there and don’t trash on people who make this stuff or enjoy playing it.
I probably won’t be getting it either way. Because it is more of the same and I’m fine replaying one of the many Zelda’s I haven’t played to death.
Cod ghost was the last I played and it got plenty of play at my house. I can’t play cod yearly, but it’s nice to have one that’s a solid port on my console to play occasionally. I don’t use my Xbox like I used to, and I haven’t looked into infinite warfare on steamdeck yet, which is the most recent that is on there at like 7 years old. So, I don’t play cod anywhere, but instead find plenty of other shooters to play on switch when I do want to.
Playing this upon launch back then, this was the best video game I’d ever played. It was the 1st time any game/book/movie has ever brought a tear to my eye when finishing it. Played it nightly for a month and beat it without guides or cheats, it set a bar for games that many today still don’t reach. However, today, it is not my fav zelda, that goes to twilight princess or botw. oot is just 3D link to the past. Twilight princess is just super oot. Botw just is a great at being a zelda/Skyrim clone, but I enjoy the traditional dungeons.
A launch red one, then triforce 3dsxl, and still own a grey n3dsxl. Others were traded as I do with old consoles typically, but I’ll always have my grey one. I haven’t used it since I got a switch, and my kids have all moved into their own switch’s, but I’m sure someday they will appreciate the 100+ games on it, or how it plays almost every zelda game ever
And I guess today is the latest I’m on the internet for 2 months. I already have seen the trailers, which is all I need to know they making a new zelda and that I will be buying it day 1. Everything else just spoils my once a decade hype towards this series.
Birth rates are declining worldwide because todays mentality is that kids are a burden and you can’t have the life Hollywood or social media show you if you have more than 1 kid. I have 4. Ranging in 3 school systems, and I thing I notice, most of todays parents have 1 kid, in daycare, so they both can work m-f 9-5. A few have 2 kids, but that’s it. Rarly have I met other parents like us that work opposite and don’t use day care. Birth rates are going down because peoples lifestyles are more selfish then selfless.
Co op adventuring. Think dark souls, but a summon could just be a hyrule solider to explore world with. That’s the dream…and even without it, I’m sure it will still will be a great game.
@RainbowGazelle an embarrassment that my kids and I have easily logged 2000 hours, and I play regularly with some friends on their realm, which my switch keeps up just fine.
I fired up my Wii U last weekend for some Wii sports with kids and saw this and had to play for a couple hours. Happily will restart it on my switch instead..
I grew up with these so it’s not such a big deal to replay games that mostly are showing their age when compared to todays games. I feel like they there more for the history lesson of where games has come from. Happy to see other enjoy them of course, but my favorite switch console is the switch
How much has the average Pokémon go player spent? Fortnite or call of duty fan? Free games with micro transactions, or every year buying a $60 and then dlc. But then a zelda game comes out every 6 years and we going to complain about $10.
I still have my n64 and this game, and I’m not blind to nostalgia, this game did not age well and it would have been nice to see some modern fixes to make it play better.
Hard to pick only 2, but I own every one of those on my n64 so I’d just have to pull it out. I want a sequel to dk racing more then anything on that list.
Even though I own this and a n64, have the ability to play it on my switch, I have no desire to. After hundreds, maybe thousands, of hours of play on high school, each time I replay as an adult, it disappoints at how badly it aged. It remains in my memory as one of my fav games of all time. It is nice to see others want to play this, but nothing will beat playing 4 person split screen with friends, crammed in over a 19inch tv. Except for maybe smash bros.
These devs are great! I was hoping for a true sequel to mechextermination force, but I’ll take another great game from them. I think the gunman Clive series as well has been one of the most play by my whole family on multiple consoles.
100% super Mario galaxy 2. Took 40-50 tries to get some of the stars each. Then dark souls 1 upon 1st releasing. We had been used to easy games and this 1st time in generations that a game challenged you in every way, if you stayed away from internet and just played game through. Just dropped you into a world that you had to explore, no little beacon saying this objective next. And if you dropped your guard, the most mundane enemies would kill you.
Heist 2 would be a dream or something new. Not another quest game. I wanted to like it, but it had no replay value and prefer the openness of a magic or hearthstone over quest. But a more expanded heist game would be amazing! Dig 3 would get played, but I’m not excited for that.
As new tech comes along, like say a steam deck, which cost the same as a oled switch, but plays ps5 games as well as 1000s of pc games, then Nintendo is losing its novelty unless your late to playing their 1st party stuff, which is why you have a Nintendo console anyways, but I can play elden ring on to go, or dark souls. Well, after 2000 hours, I think I can move on and when botw?2 comes out, I’ll get around to playing bayonetta 3, and hopefully pikmin and maybe a Mario or Metroid late this year. But until then, it’s nice to play something like days gone in handheld, or on my tv, which has been the last couple weeks since playing both spider man’s and gow.
I will be replaying twilight princess as my homework. It’s been a while since the Wii U got some love and skyward sword/links awakening were my last 2 aside from botw. The Wii U has been getting some use with Mario galaxy 2 since my kids realized there is a sequel to the 1st, and it’s not on switch.
Switch has been my main console from launch til nov ‘22. Then I got a steamdeck and except for a couple big release, Nintendo won’t be able to get it out of my hands until they upgrade and games like eldin ring are on a Nintendo console. I don’t mind getting games late, but a switch pro is needed if Nintendo wants to keep up with the next gen games.
Well, since this article, my launch switch has died. It survived several falls, including once when I set it on top of my truck, drove down road, realized, pick up off side of road, still worked. There was several chunks of missing plastic for the casing, but it took a 4 year old to drop it out of a bunk bed onto hard wood to deliver its final blow. Screen went half dark, half blurry. however, I am still impressed but its overall life span, which is why it was replaced with a oled.
Now my steam deck is my baby, and I’ll take good care of it
@nessisonett agree, I’ve noticed I’m an addict when it comes to that game. 100s of hours on 3ds, then my pc, just yet again on Wii U, and again on switch, and again on my steam deck. I can’t stop
God of war is on steam deck, ragnarok is not on steam deck as of now. I do see it in a year or 2, but not today. There are several PlayStation exclusives, but they are gimped with no multiplayer. I got a steam deck a couple months ago to play eldin ring, but with my pc steam library, i have 100 games already, and with the dock you can pick up, now I play spider man, on my tv, with a switch controller. That should tell you how versatile it is.
@kingbk I bought a steam deck just to play eldin ring on the go since my switch can’t do that, haven’t touched my switch in a couple months now, and probably won’t until zelda comes out. I didn’t know it has a bunch of PlayStation games I haven’t played either
I’ll keep saying that the fact the put dlc into a Wii U port, means we potentially aren’t done getting smash ultimate fighters. I don’t think these games need updates, just more fighter, stages, etc… and dlc packs like this for mk8 are well worth it if you just like to play the games.
@Kestrel I complete agree with your statement. I put well over 100 hours into X, and the only part of the story o really progressed was getting my skell, after that, it was just exploring the world.
I didn’t realize we hated on skyward sword as much as we do. I think it is a stretch to be calling totk a sequel to SS in any way other than like saying twilight princess is. They all zelda games in the same universe. After that, skyward sword does not deserve the hate, especially the switch version which fixed the only true complaint, motion controls. It’s in no way the best 3D zelda, and reuses a couple bosses, but the world is like constantly exploring a dungeon, until you get into a dungeon, in which they are as good as any, something that botw has none of. Zelda games are probably the only games that I could never get sick if replaying, and replay a couple a year just because. SS was my most recent.
@Tasuki I can see your point, and as someone who logged 100s of hours of uncharted online, not to mention killzone, demon souls, and now spider man…I only feel like I’m literally interacting with said movie. Spider man is awesome, playing it on my steam deck, docked, with my switch pro controller, on a 70in tv, how can anyone complain.
In topic, call of duty isn’t what it was before there was endless other fps games, and sony doesn’t need it. What I see happening is gamepass on PlayStation someday. All problems solved.
@Arkay it’s only problematic if you don’t go along with the rest of the masses. I personally don’t care one bit what a famous person has to say about anything. Money doesn’t = wisdom. I would like to see this run natively on switch, and be half decent as well, but I think it will end up bring a late mess better played in any other console.
I do remember this, but I actually enjoyed it more on the Wii rail shooter. The gameplay of the actual re0 didn’t click like the others did with me. Side note, I personally think the scene in uncharted 2 where you boarding a train, then fighting your way through it as it climbs into the snow covered mountains, is some of the best action gaming you can play.
40 here and I used to think I’d outgrow gaming. Instead, gaming has grown up with me consoles like ds/3ds/WiiU/switch and now my steamdeck, have only allowed me to continue playing great games with friends as well as my kids, with the accessibility that portable adds. My ps4/Xbox 1 have been dust collectors aside from dvds, i sold my ps4 and got a quest 2 at launch, and even that gets more use then the Xbox. Not sure why we even have that… We have 4 switch’s in the house, one for each of us boys.
Since the beginning. Played it on ps3 and always wondered why it didn’t get same level hype as gow. It’s far better gameplay wise and gow only as the story/mythology going for it. Everyone was upset when bayo 2 was picked up by nintendo for a failing system. I still think that bayo 2 is one of the best in the genre. Any hype the 3rd game had for me is almost certainly a let down, I did not pick it up yet, as that would require me to put down elden ring and my steam deck
Considering nintendos future known releases, I don’t see a new Mario until maybe winter 22 at earliest, but realistically by winter 23. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a sequel to 3D world before odyssey. Multiplayer Mario is better then single player only.
I’m not a big fan of sex in video games, but I argue that part of the Bayonetta series appeal is the sexual innuendo I wouldn’t play this I front of kids either way, and I joke with the wife that you too busy looking at the bad guys to notice Bayonetta.
@RichyM my son was all excited until we read on their website a few weeks ago about some of the compromises and he completely lost interested in it and just plays it on Xbox, which crashes all the time anyways. I just got a steam deck and I think he is jealous and I might be getting another for him, so he will have tabs that way instead.
As I said before, I’m more likely to boycott any future work she does before boycotting the game. Actors are over paid and if she making $250 an hour, for 16 hours, and complaining about it, 0 sympathy over here for her. If she working making $20 an hour, and had to work months at the game, I’d understand. Training costs are an investment you make in yourself, to get an advantage over someone else. The job will pay whatever the person paying you for what it’s worth. Whoever took over the role thought the pay was decent enough.

Re: Soapbox: Xenoblade Chronicles X's Influence Is Bigger Than You Think
@Kestrel I complete agree with your statement. I put well over 100 hours into X, and the only part of the story o really progressed was getting my skell, after that, it was just exploring the world.
Re: Random: Could Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Be The Final Part Of A Trilogy Of Zelda Games?
Re: Atari Recharged Collections Receiving Limited Run Physical Switch Release
So $70 for 4 Atari games? Is that what I’m reading?
Re: Random: Sony Alleges That Microsoft Is Trying To Turn It Into Nintendo
@Tasuki I can see your point, and as someone who logged 100s of hours of uncharted online, not to mention killzone, demon souls, and now spider man…I only feel like I’m literally interacting with said movie. Spider man is awesome, playing it on my steam deck, docked, with my switch pro controller, on a 70in tv, how can anyone complain.
In topic, call of duty isn’t what it was before there was endless other fps games, and sony doesn’t need it. What I see happening is gamepass on PlayStation someday. All problems solved.
Re: Video: Hogwarts Legacy Shows Off Magical New Gameplay Footage
@Arkay it’s only problematic if you don’t go along with the rest of the masses.
I personally don’t care one bit what a famous person has to say about anything. Money doesn’t = wisdom.
I would like to see this run natively on switch, and be half decent as well, but I think it will end up bring a late mess better played in any other console.
Re: Soapbox: Resident Evil Zero's Train Scenario Is Still One Of The Franchise's Best
Re: Switch Is Most Popular With 22-Year-Olds, Nintendo Says
40 here and I used to think I’d outgrow gaming. Instead, gaming has grown up with me consoles like ds/3ds/WiiU/switch and now my steamdeck, have only allowed me to continue playing great games with friends as well as my kids, with the accessibility that portable adds. My ps4/Xbox 1 have been dust collectors aside from dvds, i sold my ps4 and got a quest 2 at launch, and even that gets more use then the Xbox. Not sure why we even have that…
We have 4 switch’s in the house, one for each of us boys.
Re: Hideki Kamiya Thanks Nintendo For Helping Make Bayonetta 3 A Reality
Since the beginning. Played it on ps3 and always wondered why it didn’t get same level hype as gow. It’s far better gameplay wise and gow only as the story/mythology going for it.
Everyone was upset when bayo 2 was picked up by nintendo for a failing system. I still think that bayo 2 is one of the best in the genre. Any hype the 3rd game had for me is almost certainly a let down, I did not pick it up yet, as that would require me to put down elden ring and my steam deck
Re: Poll: Bayonetta 3 Is Out Today On Switch, Are You Getting It?
it going to buy and play just to say I did, then it’s back to steam deck and elden ring until botw2 comes out most likely.
Re: Talking Point: Would You Prefer 'Super Mario Odyssey 2' Or A Totally New 3D Mario?
Considering nintendos future known releases, I don’t see a new Mario until maybe winter 22 at earliest, but realistically by winter 23. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a sequel to 3D world before odyssey. Multiplayer Mario is better then single player only.
Re: Bayonetta 3 Gets Day One Update, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
I’m not a big fan of sex in video games, but I argue that part of the Bayonetta series appeal is the sexual innuendo I wouldn’t play this I front of kids either way, and I joke with the wife that you too busy looking at the bad guys to notice Bayonetta.
Re: 'Totally Accurate Battle Simulator' Charges Its Way To A November Switch Release
Re: Talking Point: Given The Voice Artist Controversy, Will You Be Boycotting Bayonetta 3?
As I said before, I’m more likely to boycott any future work she does before boycotting the game. Actors are over paid and if she making $250 an hour, for 16 hours, and complaining about it, 0 sympathy over here for her.
If she working making $20 an hour, and had to work months at the game, I’d understand. Training costs are an investment you make in yourself, to get an advantage over someone else. The job will pay whatever the person paying you for what it’s worth. Whoever took over the role thought the pay was decent enough.
