Ouch, little harsh IMO. I’d say it’s a decent game in every way, and if you like WoW style questing with button mashing like god of war, and a decent leveling character development, this this is worth your time. Only real complaint, it’s single player and this should have always been a co-op game, even local 2 player would have made this a easy 9/10.
I will be getting this again for my switch only just to play portable instead of my ps3.

As I have gotten older and play less, I feel like I’ve played a lot of these games already, so I only see a game completely to the end if it’s really worth my time. Other then that, gaming is more about collecting stars with my kids, hours of smash, or our 5th run of dark souls then it is about putting 100 hours into every rpg I come across. It’s nice to play Witcher, cyberpunk, and right now, outer worlds, but I don’t finish them anymore.

Nintendo would be crazy to not offer the ports of the Mario’s as individual game purchases for every other switch owner who wants just one of them or who buys a switch over the next 4 years.
I understand Mario 35 being a limited time thing, it’s free and it would be nice to be a full game...but I’m sure Nintendo has stuff planned for zelda as the year progresses. Play it while you can and move on to the hundreds of other games switch has to offer too. And plenty are free too.

I am playing the outer worlds on my switch. My kids and I are playing cat Mario the rest of the time. Little bit of beat saber and super hot on the rift 2 as well.

As a kid, I loved zelda 1. A friend and I drew out the entire overworld on multiple pieces of paper, taped together in order to beat it. Zelda 2 was terrible to play as a kid and only tried it once as an adult. It’s still one of the few zelda I haven’t beat. The ds ones too, since I couldn’t play using the touchscreen with having carpal tunnel.

If it’s good, I’ll play it. If it’s bad, then I’ll delete it. That’s all I can say from watching the trailer. No hate, only anticipation.

I used to love jack black and tenacious d. Now watching his career just makes me sad.

So excited for car Mario we replayed it on Wii U already, collecting every star again, and getting frustrated with the final world again. Can’t wait to do it again on switch this weekend

Kingdom, new lands and 2 crowns are both time loop games too, and you will easily lose hundreds of hours to those games.

@TimboSlice I learned this when I got a Wii U. I always heard complaints when playing my ps3, but as my Wii U and 3ds got better games, I used my ps3 less and less until I got a switch and it’s pretty much my only console. I am trying to play cyberpunk but again, because it’s not portable, it’s hard to find time to play. And with such a big backlog, it prob end up being just like Witcher 3 and coming to switch someday.

This is more action then rpg. Which is why this game was so good. Being offline, solo for a MMO style game is its only real flaw.

I agree that it was a very underrated good game, with some flaws. it did not deserve hate like it got and probably wouldn’t have been if it, like bayonetta 2, was on other consoles.

After watching the bowsers fury trailer, 2 of my boys and i beat 3dworld just because. The 4 rear old is just getting into gaming and loved it. Still getting it day 1 and I’m sure we will be playing that and amoung us this weekend. And more beat saber on the oculus.

It was always the Wii until switch came out. The Wii and U never left my hands and were just asking for sexual jokes. The switch far beats the Wii.

Wow, just wow! Nintendo, you just never cease to amaze this 38 year old kid. I think as excited as my kids for this.

@hakjie11 this series was a sleeper obsession. I had no idea I was over 200 hours into the first and
it became my most played switch game for a while.
Bloodstained though, I have yet to actually play more then 5 hours.

This looks like it’s right up my alley. Has anyone tried it yet? Does the game play well?

I am both. I play most games I buy and I get rid of any that I’m done with, but my essential game collection over like 7 consoles now probably spans 1000 games by now too.

@TheLightSpirit @Arkay journey and limbo were 2 of my biggest disappointments when they released when it comes to spending $25 on a game that were critically acclaimed, but to find out they both barely 2 hours and they were both basically just walking simulators with no gameplay and no replay value. Both were over priced and they made me very skeptical of any indie games since, and they are why I wait for sales for all digital purchases.

I can see ports of ffvii remake, Metroid prime as well as Samus returns, maybe link between worlds, zelda games, and hopefully a surprise Mario galaxy 2. But those would all make sense and we will maybe get one of the above.

@Silly_G zelda games are one of my only remaining series that when a new one releases, I watch nothing about it and refuse any guides during my first play through.

My rival console is an oculus quest 2. My switch is my go to console,(it goes to work everyday for lunch break gaming) but for near 2 months, we almost daily kill the battery playing best saber, superhot, echo, population one, and a couple others. Then it’s smash battles until the kids go to bed

@TG16_IS_BAE which is exactly why I have my switch. Nintendo has awesome exclusives, and plenty of awesome ports/indie/AAA titles that I will never need another console at this rate. I’ll update my aging laptop at some point. I purchased the new quest 2, which is awesome, and there just isn’t anything on next gen/pc that makes me want to invest in anything else. It’s all about the games, and I’ve always been pc/Nintendo, and a little PS sprinkled in for exclusives. Now we kill the battery on our quest everyday and am thinking about getting rid of the Xbox 1 to get a second.

@impurekind since switch launch, I’ve played exactly 4 games on my ps4, and now have sold it to get a quest 2. I played switch daily on my lunch, as well as at home.
Pretty graphics aren’t worth $500 to me. But being able to play any game I want, whenever, where ever is what I want from a console.

My 3ds is basically a portable zelda machine. It doesn’t have the obvious ones of course. My switch needs to become a portable zelda machine, but with the console ones as well. Please Nintendo, just port it all over to switch.

I’m out impressed it’s digital only, but I guess the 100+ hours of the first on switch and it only costing me like $15, I guess I’m going to suffer.

So this and empire of sin went from “buy today”to “buy on sale.”
Also have to add, that if you want to feel like Neo from the matrix, then play superhot in VR.( Or John wick as he is know today.)

I just sold my never played ps4 to get an oculus quest 2. After a week and about 50 hours over the 3 of us, I am selling our never played Xbox 1 for another quest 2. That will give us 3 household switch’s, two 3ds’, and 2 quests. I believe the next gen of gaming isn’t just better graphics, but vr. I also believe SuperHot
in VR is really the Matrix.

There needs to be a option for the oculus quest since I have no desire to play anything anymore but that and my switch.

I don’t really care either way, but it wouldn’t be the first time a developer denied a game coming to switch only to have it release anyways.

Looking back, my ds/3ds/3dsxl/n3dsxl family of consoles dominated my gaming for over a decade. I played plenty of pc/console games, but my 3ds was always with me. Until March 2, 2017...RIP 3ds, I still haven’t even finished Samus returns.

@blockfight someday you will be old too. Just because I do not participate in something doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Fortnite and call of duty have dominated gaming for years but that doesn’t mean I play them.

After playing through the demo, I was surprised at how well it ran. The cutscene has more frame drops then the gameplay. I am not about to give any money towards cloud gaming since I just refuse to accept it is the future. But I also accept it is the future and we all will need to deal with it someday. People still buy dvds(kind of) but who really buys or burns cds anymore? My kids want all their games digitally. But one thing I can say is the my dream library is several PCs old, and my iTunes has been around since the beginning, and each iPhone I get still has my music on it. So maybe their is hope for cloud/digital gaming to co-exist with physical games.

I will always preferred to own something physically. However I’m a gamer and I accept that cloud gaming is probably the future and I’m looking forward to trying it. I like physical because over the weekend I sold $400 worth of games so that way I could buy an oculus quest. Can’t do that with digital.

Nmh1 was a solid 8 game with some flaws that nmh2 fixed and is even better. That game is more of a 9. Can’t wait for nmh3.

And days like this is why I love Nintendo. Thank you. Nmh 1+2 will be purchased as soon as I get home.

Yes, I use my switch more in handheld then docked. However, the fact that I can play it both ways means it’s my #1 played console for almost 3 years and I don’t even see a reason for my ps4 or x1 other then the 2 games I have played in them each over last 3 years. I don’t even bother with ps+ anymore. And my x1 is starting to feel that way too.

The same people who complain about a game looking bad are the same ones who play nes classics and minecraft.
This is a great game that I really should put more time into, but there are just too many games that expect that too.

I started with a launch switch. By Xmas that year, we had one for my teenager and another sitting under the tree for my then 7 year old. Now our 4 year old is waiting everyday for me to get home with mine so he can play breath of the wild and Minecraft. A 4th will be under the tree this year, unless I can hold out til March to see if any rumors are true...
Even if other another, I still have a 2 year old who will be gaming in next year if 2.

@Dm9982 the best thing about playing Monster hunter games is after you have played like 5 of them, you see that each has gotten a little better. It’s prob my fav series to watch evolve over like 4 generations now.

Take away the how linear the game was and if you could skip cutscenes, then this was a great game in the same way hyrule warriors is great. (Great game in the Metroid/zelda universe) The hate is only from spoiled fanboys who thought Nintendo was going to make a true super Metroid sequel. it’s probably because of those same fanboys why Nintendo has all but ignored Metroid, and is trying one last time to make prime 4 a worthy successor. Because if prime 4 doesn’t sell, Metroid series is probably dead. Especially when you hear things like how animal crossing switch has outsold the entire Metroid series...and Nintendo is in business to make money.

Nintendo trained me with motion controls for years, and now I’m spoiled and hate playing any game that doesn’t use them.

@diegoarthur I can’t say I’m a fan of roguelikes, I’m a fan of good games, aside from a few frame rate drops, which the switch version is much better then the Wii U, it’s a very fun game I prob logged 50-60 hours with.

Day 1 purchase, in the mean time, I’ll be playing ziggurat again.

How can anything think smg1 is better then smg2? Smg1 is great in every way, except smg2 has Yoshi and more levels then 1.
