Re: Talking Point: Everyone Has A Bad Game They Love, So What's Yours?

Donutman

@River3636 I’ve always like that and still have it. Played it about a year ago until I finally beat it.

Today, my favorite “bad” game would prob be #killallzombies. I love twin stick shooters and it seems like no one played this. or maybe ziggurat. I keep going back to those between other games on my switch.

Re: Yep, The Wii U Gets A New Game In July

Donutman

I’m new of the few who never unhooked our Wii U and it has been getting used again lately for some guitar hero and donkey Kong country returns, since that was the best one.
Even played some punch out and r-type this morning. This game does not interest me, but I’m still happy devs are out there trying to support it.

Re: Talking Point: Is It Worth Buying A Nintendo Wii U In 2021?

Donutman

Unless you already made the investment into one, no. But, if you are like me, with over 300 Wii, Wii U, eshop, Wiiware, disc games, all accessories needed to play guitar hero, 8 person smash...then yes, keeping my Wii U alive is top priority. We couldn’t wait for “cat Mario”, and 100% it before we did again on switch. I already fought the bosses in skyward sword justctonplaycwotu motion controls. All the free VC games Nintendo gave us over the years, I will be very sad the die it officially dies. We are on our 3rd gamepad, have another waiting, I replaced the disc drive once and have had a 1tb hard drive. Until switch, it was my favorite console. Switch is with me everywhere I go now and I only use Wii U every couple months now.
But as long as i can keep it alive. It will always be 100% ready to play on our living room tv.

Re: Takaya Imamura Describes Star Fox 64 As "The Game Of My Life"

Donutman

Star fox zero was great. Controls set out to do exactly what they wanted, make you feel like you are piloting the ar wing. Game was great aside from those too. I never had the same love for angcc vc as I did for the n64 or even the original, since I was a kid then. But I still fire up the Wii U to playthrough zero every couple months.

Re: Review: Star Wars: Republic Commando - Not An Elegant Weapon, But Still A Blast

Donutman

@WallyWest some switch owners play 75% of the time in handheld and would love to have gyro in all games, not just when playing with a pro controller, docked.
I play almost all mature games in handheld, and we play the family games on tv.
I have always preferred a pc, keyboard and mouse for FPS, but I just never have time to use my pc for gaming. If I do, it’s for Starcraft. Since 3ds, Wii U, and 4+years of switch, there are just so many awesome console quality games, on the go, why do I need a pc anymore? And we love our quest 2 headset.

Re: Feature: Zelda: Four Swords Was Probably Great, But Finding Pals To Play With? Talk About A Master Quest

Donutman

I played 4 swords several times back when eoyu 3 others all on our own gba and gc systems. Great experience. I loved when they did Wii ff echoes with ds/Wii support. I was one of the few who played and enjoyed tri-force heroes. Heck, I loved Metroid fed force. They are different experiences and not every game needs to be a numbered sequel no different then the previous game.

Fed force should have not have had Metroid in the name, no it wouldn’t have been hated for not being prince 4.

Re: Rustler Is A Medieval GTA Coming To Switch This Year

Donutman

@Low_ink sorry, but my right to disagree to this is just as ok as you not wanting those topics in your game. But I do. I’d love gta on switch. Even better would be red dead redemption 1, IMO. I think we will get both at some point.
Did you play bayonetta, saints row, watch dogs, madworld, manhunt 2??? just a few Nintendo console games.

Re: Feature: Zelda: The Wind Waker Proved We Don't Always Know What We Want

Donutman

I was one upset about it’s art style and after playing it, I still did not have the same love for it as I did either oot or lttp, which where the only other zeldas I had played at the time. I even preordered to get the bonus disc with master quest on it. That was more enjoyable the playing windwaker.
Even as an adult, playing it on Wii U, it’s still one of my least favorite zelda games.

Re: Talking Point: Is Zelda An RPG, Or Not?

Donutman

@BloodNinja xenoblade, final fantasy, Skyrim, dark souls are all rpgs, different styles but rpgs nonetheless. Why is botw not an rpg? It has dark souls like combat, open world, side quests, you can choose how to play and can beat game under endless scenarios. It can have brutal difficulty on master mode. I also consider it as much a “zelda game” as much as hyrule warriors is. I just think each zelda is different in its own way and is only defined as being it’s on genre... a Zelda game.

Re: Talking Point: Is Zelda An RPG, Or Not?

Donutman

Zelda is zelda. IMO, I would call the series an action adventure rpg. No other series is quite as unique though. However, it treads the line of being an rpg in so many ways, that by today’s standards, a game like botw, which people called zelda Skyrim, is an rpg, but I wouldn’t don’t think I would consider skyward sword one, despite it checking some rpg boxes. Twilight princess or windwaker are zelda games and I don’t think you can argue they are rpgs.

Re: Review: Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning - RPG Action That Really Shows Its Age

Donutman

Ouch, little harsh IMO. I’d say it’s a decent game in every way, and if you like WoW style questing with button mashing like god of war, and a decent leveling character development, this this is worth your time. Only real complaint, it’s single player and this should have always been a co-op game, even local 2 player would have made this a easy 9/10.
I will be getting this again for my switch only just to play portable instead of my ps3.

Re: Soapbox: It's Time To Normalise Giving Up On Games Early

Donutman

As I have gotten older and play less, I feel like I’ve played a lot of these games already, so I only see a game completely to the end if it’s really worth my time. Other then that, gaming is more about collecting stars with my kids, hours of smash, or our 5th run of dark souls then it is about putting 100 hours into every rpg I come across. It’s nice to play Witcher, cyberpunk, and right now, outer worlds, but I don’t finish them anymore.

Re: Random: Nintendo Ironically Celebrates All Mario Switch Games With Fans, Weeks Before Wiping Some From Existence

Donutman

Nintendo would be crazy to not offer the ports of the Mario’s as individual game purchases for every other switch owner who wants just one of them or who buys a switch over the next 4 years.
I understand Mario 35 being a limited time thing, it’s free and it would be nice to be a full game...but I’m sure Nintendo has stuff planned for zelda as the year progresses. Play it while you can and move on to the hundreds of other games switch has to offer too. And plenty are free too.

Re: Feature: Zelda II: The Adventure Of Link Taught Me The Value Of Perseverance

Donutman

As a kid, I loved zelda 1. A friend and I drew out the entire overworld on multiple pieces of paper, taped together in order to beat it. Zelda 2 was terrible to play as a kid and only tried it once as an adult. It’s still one of the few zelda I haven’t beat. The ds ones too, since I couldn’t play using the touchscreen with having carpal tunnel.

Re: Soapbox: Grinding Is Poor Gameplay Design That Doesn’t Respect Your Time

Donutman

@TimboSlice I learned this when I got a Wii U. I always heard complaints when playing my ps3, but as my Wii U and 3ds got better games, I used my ps3 less and less until I got a switch and it’s pretty much my only console. I am trying to play cyberpunk but again, because it’s not portable, it’s hard to find time to play. And with such a big backlog, it prob end up being just like Witcher 3 and coming to switch someday.
