It really depends on how they handle it on today's market, really. They did something like this once in the late 2000s and it didn't go well.

I also guess this is also the possible reason they're delisting their games lately.

In this day and age I really appreciate the company's integrity to release a finished game.

@NinjaWaddleDee : Regardless of who wins and loses in this lawsuit I'm certain it will end in a 'peaceful' settlement, and I don't believe this marks the end of Crush 40 (this is really more about Gioeli, not the band, having a beef with Sega) or the end of Live & Learn's use in Sonic games.
After all, Sega don't own the Sonic 1 & 2 soundtracks but they still pay the actual owners each time any music (Green Hill in paticular) is used to this day.

I thought this was already officially announced last month. Only thing new here seems to be the planned release date.

Frankly I'm more curious who the villain will be here (I have an idea of who but won't spoil it), since I can't imagine Carrey would wanna return for the fourth time. Its honestly a miracle he returned for the third, which I'm thankful for.

Honestly, there's something about this Polygon article and this whole ordeal that screams fake news to me. I just find it hard to believe that Gioeli has been unaware until now of Live & Learn's widespread use over the past 20+ years, unless he's been living in a cave. The guy is in a band that's mostly known for making Sonic game music for pete's sake.

There are far worse 2024 shovelware games out there then these.

@vio : No, this is being developed by Hardlight.

@Serpenterror : According to the official info I seen, this game is being developed by Sega Hardlight (they have done a couple of Sonic mobile games, plus the PC version of Forces, the mobile version of TSR, and Sonic Dream Team) instead of Sumo Digital. Most likely because Sumo Digital was bought by Tencent if nothing else.

I'm guessing CrossWorlds refers to either crossover with other Sega franchises again (this I would like) or just characters from other Sonic media (mainly IDW, Prime and the movies), the latter would be boring imo.

Either way its a safe bet that we will see that Dodon Pa guy again (since Iizuka said he would be used for whenever Sega needs to have a racing event in the Sonic universe).

I need to do the classic and slap myself to see if this is a dream.

Looks kinda neat, but the Bomberman Act Zero vibes are strong with this one. Overall I can’t say I’m a fan of this, so this is a "maybe" from me.

Spike was never a big deal to begin with, so no shock there.

@Daimando : At the very least it could happen as a comic crossover by IDW. I'm not interested in the idea myself but a My Little Pony comic collab with Sonic is actually one of the most fan requested IDW crossovers from what I hear.

I echo what AceTrainerBloke said. The game was (and still is) one of the biggest titles when it comes to (among other things) the modern crossover era.

This is cool if true, but if they're going to bring Planet Robobot to Switch then Triple Deluxe should be added as well, release them both in one pack.

It just feels wrong to have one without the other imo.

Don't care much about Mai's quote there (I didn't even notice it until this article lol) but I will say that her SF6 model looks quite good (though her DOA model is still superior imo to any other 3D guest appearances she has made so far).

And thankfully she does look much better then what Terry does. That guy's facial structures in SF6 will forever haunt me.

So? If we have to stick by name logic alone then this movie should directly adapt the Sonic 3 (game) story but it's not (not directly atleast) because it primarily adapts the Sonic Adventure 2 story first and foremost.
Plus, by this same logic, Shadow shouldn't appear at all and yet here he is, not to mention he made a short appearance in the previous film called Sonic the Hedgehog 2 despite him not being in the actual game which the aforementioned previous film is an adaptation of.

I don't get why you are seemingly so upset of my thoughts here (which are just opinions, just like yours) but again, agree to disagree. I leave it at that.

Plus everyone has already seen the full gameplay trailer (was shown last week), and frankly Ghostface's moveset hasn't changed my impression of him in this game (the fatality is pretty cool but thats about it).

I’m not really concerned for M&L's future (for now atleast) as much as I'm concerned for the possible reality of modern Sony owning one of the biggest (if not the biggest) anime/manga/light novels companies on earth.

The acquisition makes sense for both parties, sure, but I'm still more concerned of Sony’s plans and handling of the anime & manga side of it all then anything video game-related tbh.
