Re: Random: Chris Pratt Looks Back On The Mario Movie With A 'Brilliant' Dad Joke

Coolmusic

I'm used to Chris' Mario voice at this point, it still isn't really to my liking personally, but I suppose it could have been worse.

Jack, Charlie and Anya as Bowser, Luigi and Peach were the highlights imo. Keegan as Toad was kinda okay I guess.
Seth as DK though, sigh. I know he said he would just use his own voice but still...😒

Anyway, happy 1st anniversary to the SMB movie!🎂🎉🎈🥳

Re: Random: Capcom Reveals "Most Popular" Games And Comments From Fan Survey

Coolmusic

....What kind of dumb "winning" list info is this?😒 I hate the way this is organized, you almost wouldn't think this is the result of a survey if people didn't know about it beforehand.

@LadyCharlie : I feel the same.😭
I guess Darkstalkers' name just showing up here, even if it is in somewhat "smaller" then the most picked choices, is better then not showing up at all but yeah, its not the same.😞

Re: Best Pokémon Spin-Off Games Of All Time

Coolmusic

Regardless of their placements in this list I'm somewhat fond of Pokemon Masters, Detective Pikachu (haven't tried the sequel yet), Pokken, and especially Pokemon Stadium as that game was one of my first N64 games, good times there.

Good to see most of the Mystery Dungeon titles as well as Conquest rank so highly.

@martynstuff : I don't think you are reading too much into it.
I feel certain that it is indeed a flashback moment of the Mario bros as teens. Maybe a scene that was gonna be squeezed afterwards in Luigi's memories (after the 'Baby Mario & Baby Luigi' flashback seen in the movie) but got cut.
Would have been funny to see. ^^

Re: Feature: Akira Toriyama, The Dragon Ball, Dragon Quest, And Chrono Trigger Artist That Inspired The World

Coolmusic

I'm still mourning Toriyama's loss, but I will re-read many Dragon Ball chapters (and other works of his such as Dr. Slump) to cheer myself up remembering this brilliant man. I need to play Chrono Trigger and some Dragon Quest games again as well.

@AlanaHagues: "Sonic the Hedgehog's 'Super Sonic' transformation, meanwhile, was heavily inspired by the Super Saiyan transformations from the original Dragon Ball Z manga — the first transformation took place in 1991, and while the similarity could just be a coincidence, it's striking, with spikier hair and a bright gold colouring used in both transformations."

In addition to that, Yuji Naka confirmed once that the Special Stage area in Sonic 3 & Knuckles was inspired by King Kai’s planet, Vegeta was clearly one of the inspirations for Shadow (an early sheet of concept artwork seen in the 'Sonic the Hedgehog 25th Anniversary Art Book' uses "Vegeta" as a keyword describing him), and Sonic Team also confirmed back during Sonic '06's time that Silver the Hedgehog was inspired by Future Trunks.😊

Thanks for this amazing article!👍

Re: Dragon Ball Creator Akira Toriyama Has Passed Away

This is without a doubt one of the hardest punch in the guts ever. Even though I outgrew Dragon Ball a long time ago it still has a special place in my heart because it was not only one of the first mangas I ever read but also one of the very first works that introduced me to the Japanese entertainment industry.

The world of manga, and comics in general, has lost another legend. Rest in peace Toriyama sensei, and thank you for your hard work and timeless contributions.

Re: Sakurai Acknowledges End Of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Development

@SpaceboyScreams : Sales is always a valid reason but that doesn’t mean its always the easiest choice.
In this case there are also licenses to think about (among other valid reasons).
Mario Kart is a Mario subseries featuring a Mario cast (plus Miis, and a few other Nintendo guests), Nintendo has a easier time, relativelty speaking, doing what they want to the IP.
Smash on the other hand is one of the biggest crossovers on earth that features a huge size of different Nintendo characters not limited to Mario and an almost as large size of third-party characters, and thats without thinking about the massive Nintendo and third-party content featured in the IP (music, assist trophies, spirits etc.).

If Nintendo ever were to make a re-release of Ultimate in the near future then great, I would buy it in a heartbeat, but at this point its just a pipe dream at best thats not worth holding my breath over, thats my take on this.

Re: Sakurai Acknowledges End Of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Development

@SpaceboyScreams: An updated edition makes sense but if Nintendo hasn’t bothered making them of previous titles since atleast Brawl they are not gonna do it now.

And if the rumor(s) of the ”Switch 2” being backwards compatible is true thats atleast one more reason why it likely won’t happen if we can already play Ultimate on the console.
Any more new content and fighters that Nintendo and Sakurai may have in mind they are highly likely already saving for the next Smash installment.
