Re: Talking Point: Is Tears Of The Kingdom The Scariest Zelda Game Ever?

Classic603

There wasn't anything "scary" about this game. But it can be ridiculously difficult, especially for someone that didn't come straight from BoTW. ToTK doesn't do a super good job letting you know all your abilities, which is part of the fun but amps up the difficulty if you didn't know pulling your bow while jumping put you in bullet time

@Dragonslacker1

Dungeons and Dragons has been around for 50 years. You aren't old, just not part of that fandom.

Critical Role is the top paid Twitch channel, abd a group of voice actors that range from Fire Emblem to Naruto to The Last of Us. If you play video games or watch anime, you've probably encountered several of the cast members.

They are collaborating with Nintendo of America to do a "one shot" (a DnD session that only lasts for one session, as opposed to their usual hundreds of sessions) and they are setting it in Hyrule. Most likely taking the ruleset for DnD 5th Edition (5E) to create a story and characters that could exist in Hyrule, but with structure and rules they're familiar with. 5E is a super flexible d20 based system that has seen many properties incorporated into it. There's a Star Wars 5e, Final Fantasy 5e, Pokemon 5e. They're all fan made games that use the bones of DnD 5e to great success. Basically you could Google any IP that interests you followed by 5e and someone has tried making it.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?

Classic603

8/10

It's fun to build and mess around, it's surprisingly and annoyingly difficult at times when you find yourself against enemies you didn't expect, and it doesn't feel like Zelda.

But the fusing, ultrahand and the rise (can't remember it's name) abilities are all fun to mess around with. I'm honestly surprised with how much I'm enjoying this game, especially compared to BoTW.

I still hope to see a return to OoT style at some point, but this game is still fun

"When someone bashes zelda and they finish their sentence with I'm a long time zelda fan or and it's my favourite series, you know their full of crap. Like why do you need to add that just to validate your comment"

I wouldn't take it as them being full of it, I would take it as them being a long time fan that feels this new direction isn't the style they have loved all these years, are are sad to see it go that way.

What an odd thing to nitpick

All I hear from you is that you aren't willing to actually listen to other people's opinions unless they say ToTK is the greatest.

I don't know how else to say it, the game is fun but not what I want from Zelda. A FPS pokemon could be fun, but if they went that direction and said they're never going back then that'd be a shame.

You said exactly what I feel about Zelda, just about Pokemon, yet you can't understand others having that same opinion?

I'd gladly waste time wailing and trashing a game that went from my favorite franchise of all time, to the point that I wanted to name my daughter Zelda, and Instead turned into a completely different game.

I'm enjoying ToTK, it's a fun game, but it isn't Zelda to me. I miss the 3D OoT style, it's my favorite game, and I'm sad we won't get more

Re: Review: The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom - An Absolute Marvel, But Is It Better Than BOTW?

Classic603

@LikelySatan

I think they mixed it up, DLCquel lol.

@YoshiF2

I agree with the shade being thrown at BoTW, I only played it through once and that was on the WiiU. But ToTK looks to be a mix between BoTW and standard Zelda stylings. Dungeons, bosses, side quests, music.

Also, I despised Link Between Worlds because of the rental system, until I recently went back to the game. It worked really well and I have since shifted my opinion, it became one of my favorite 2D Zelda titles

Re: Talking Point: With One Month 'Til TOTK, What's Left For You To Do In Zelda: Breath Of The Wild?

Classic603

I did what things I felt like doing: most shrines, collected some gear, messed around with dyeing gear and what not, got the master sword and hylian shield, beat the beast things, then decided that's enough. Beat Ganon and didn't touch it again. This was back on the Wii u, and I played it for about a month. Explored and all that, but it just didn't call me back in like Skyrim always seems to

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 8th)

Rediscovered Zelda: Link Between Worlds. Originally I had rated it pretty poorly, for its lack of structure and deviating from the standard process of weapon and item collection. I have since changed my mind, this game is fantastic. Plus the use of 3D is incredible, such a solid game. Probably my favorite top down Zelda, followed closely by Minish Cap and Link to the Past
