Rediscovered Zelda: Link Between Worlds. Originally I had rated it pretty poorly, for its lack of structure and deviating from the standard process of weapon and item collection. I have since changed my mind, this game is fantastic. Plus the use of 3D is incredible, such a solid game. Probably my favorite top down Zelda, followed closely by Minish Cap and Link to the Past
I would assume those are two different groups, nobody would flip that easily. There are still plenty of haters out there, but the people who enjoyed it are finally voicing their opinions
@MitchaK After a certain point, you just want to get to the town. Encounter after encounter makes the games drag. FFVII and IX I believe had similar features
"more of the same" is what I wanted, but not more of BoTW. I wanted more of the same from previous iterations, more of an OoT, TP, WW game and less of a BoTW
This looks like a fun game, but so far I haven't seen anything that is reminiscent of Zelda. This looks like a fun open world crafting adventure game with Zelda elements tacked on
@Khezu I fully agree. While the eShop was up and running, I wouldn't promote hacking a 3ds. But now that the system is not being supported, it's free game
I think I'm the only one left that needs convincing to buy this day 1, but I didn't love BoTW. I'm sur eventually I'll pick up ToTK, but it's odd not being hyped for a new entry in my favorite series.
@ComfyAko Maybe if I had played it when it first released I'd agree, but the story feels very cliched these days. Nothing wrong with that, but to me the strongest draw is the gameplay. Super fun to play
I decided to download 3 games from the eShop that I've never really given a chance: Phoenix Wright Trilogy, Monster Hunter 4, and a Sonic collection. None of these are in my wheelhouse, but for like $3 each I figured why not
@ComfyAko Final Fantasy V is one of my favorites. The story and characters are whatever, but the class system is so much fun to play with. I really enjoyed it, it was like a big step up from III
I personally would put the Switch remake of Link's Awakening above the originals, Wind Waker HD above the original, and the 3DS remakes of OoT and MM above the originals.
I caved and got NSO+ for Metroid Fusion and Minish Cap, and have been chipping away at them on the plane ride and down time during a mini vacation. Both are just as great as I remembered
@GreenTea Oh I completely missed that, and thought I had to defend my favorite Prime game haha. I'll leave my comment up, in case anyone else has doubts to the quality of Prime 2.
And I agree, a remaster of Echoes would be amazing. I'd also take Corruption, but I'm not clamoring for it.
@GreenTea Are you implying that Metroid Prime 2: Echoes isn't a worthy sequel? Many people, myself included would count it as an equal, and in some ways superior, game.
Dark world puzzles, the lore, ing, Luminoth, suits, dark and light beams, boss fights, locations, music (Torvus Bog especially). It's a fantastic and wonderful game
@HeadPirate Those are crazy statistics. I personally don't know anyone that still uses either site in the US. I don't use any social media anymore, but most people I know are mainly active on Instagram, Snapchat and reddit if those count
Nightmare was a... well, nightmare. Plus the giant water snake (I can't remember it's name) is always a hard fight for me. That being said, I adore Fusion. Probably my favorite 2D Metroid
...You did play TOK's combat right? Boring, time consuming and the very definition of tedious. No fun partners, TTYD had fun folding abilities and it felt much more novel and interesting.
I'm glad SOMEONE enjoyed TOK, but I did not. To me, Super was the start of the down slide. 64 was fun, but TTYD is amazing. TOK was okay at best
There's a little area in Super Metroid referred to as Noob Bridge. I discovered this name after having to Google the solution and learning that a run button exists in that game. So much backtracking and searching just to need to run.
The top of my remastered wishlist would be any of the SNES Final Fantasy games, Donkey Kong Country 1&2, DBZ Legacy of Goku 2 and Buu's Fury, Metroid Prime 2.

Re: New Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Trailer Drops Tomorrow, 13th April 2023
@mariomaster96
Dead Island was the greatest trailer for me, and then the game was nothing like that lol

@Deady
There used to be a place like that in New England called Chunkies, and it was always a good time
Re: Yes, The Super Mario Bros. Movie Will Have A Post-Credits Scene
@Jop
That's my theory about the scene, it'll be Mario sunshine
Re: Soapbox: Nobody Does 'More Of The Same' Better Than Nintendo
@Il_Nintenditore
That's fair. I didn't love BoTW, and the 2D entries are my fresh air

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of The New Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Trailer?
@MetalKingShield
I hear you there. I look forward to the NEXT Zelda, in hopes that it's a return to traditional gameplay. And also more 2D Zelda titles, please
Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Trailer Gets Creative With Vehicle Building, Fused Weapons
@msvt
BoTW could have been its' own new IP
Absolutely agree. BoTW was cool, and this game looks fun, but they don't scream Zelda to me. I want a return to form

1995, baby. Donkey Kong Country 2, Chrono Trigger, Yoshi's Island

@Anti-Matter
I'm curious what your thoughts on Wind Waker are, as that's one of my favorites and not a game I expected you to play
Re: Poll: What Other GameCube Title Deserves A '10/10' Remake Or Remaster?
I also forgot Double Dash, but I really just want a sequel to that one as the next Mario Kart
Re: Poll: What Other GameCube Title Deserves A '10/10' Remake Or Remaster?
I voted for Paper Mario before I even remembered Metroid Prime 2 or Fire Emblem, but any one of the three would get my money so fast

As far as designs go:
•Twilight Princess
•Skyward Sword
•BoTW
As far as characters go:
•Wind Waker
•Everyone else
Re: Review: Metroid Fusion - An Infectious, Portable Pleasure
@StarPoint
"Relatively easier"
Nightmare was a... well, nightmare. Plus the giant water snake (I can't remember it's name) is always a hard fight for me. That being said, I adore Fusion. Probably my favorite 2D Metroid
Re: Random: Fan-Made Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Course For Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Is Pure Joy

Re: Poll: Six Years On, Which Was Nintendo Switch's Best Year So Far?
Just looking through the listed releases and dang, Switch is a fantastic console. So many great games through the years
Re: Nintendo Expands Its Switch Online Game Boy Advance Service March 9th
My favorite 2D Metroid game, followed by Dread and Zero Mission. Fantastic game
Re: Talking Point: Which Is Your Favourite 3DS Theme?
I mixed it up between Twilight Princess, a gold Majora's Mask, and the classic Zelda "Sword Swinging Link" themes.
Re: Countdown: 3DS eShop Spotlight - Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies

Re: Feature: Hyrule Fields, Ranked - The Best Grassy Plains In The Zelda Franchise
I went with Twilight Princess. The music is sublime, all the hidden little things, bug hunting. Mostly the music, I can even picture it right now
Re: Feature: Hyrule Fields, Ranked - The Best Grassy Plains In The Zelda Franchise
@PtM
Minish would HAVE to win
Re: Feature: 6 Things We'd Love To See In Metroid Prime 4
@BulbasaurusRex
That's your opinion, and I fully disagree. Other M's gameplay was garbage
Re: Poll: Octopath Traveler II Is Out Now, Which Character Will You Start With?
It'll be a while before I pick this up, but I assume I will go warrior like last time. It's my kind of rpg character for sure
Re: Scalpers Set Their Sights On Metroid Prime Remastered Physical Release

Plus you could just get it digitally, if you MUST have it NOW
Re: Talking Point: Why Are So Many Remasters Sub-Par At Launch?
