I still beat the game in just over 12 hours, and that doesn't count my many, many attempts at avoiding and fighting the E.M.M.I.s.

Everyone has a different view on value, but that was definitely worth the price of admission, and I am very excited to start another playthrough. It may not be a 120 hour rpg, but I had a ton of fun

Wow goes to show different playstyles! I took many, many attempts at purple. Blasting the lower blocks, bombing the one block, charge shooting the large block, then lining up shots as it approaches. Every time I repositioned he healed, and I felt too cramped to do anything. For me it was a brutal fight

I literally just beat it (took just over 12 hours with around 85% items), and it is an awesome game. My gripes are these:

the emmi things go too far, by the final emmi I was just tired of them. The music, while atmospheric and haunting, was mostly forgettable. And while most bosses were fun, the recurring warrior fights were annoying. There wasn't much to differentiate them other than colors or that one with a shield you can grapple.

Other than that, the game was a blast. Even the most tedious sections left me feeling satisfied once I figured out the trick. Can't wait to dive into my second playthrough

I just beat him, and you can hear the difference in missiles when he turns gold. It sounds like they aren't doing damage, and it's just a dodge game till the next counter. I would love to see a debug mode fight with him that shows his hp as it drops, to settle this lol

It's definitely a faster paced Metroid, similar to Fusion, but that's about where the similarities end. For sure it works as a sequel to Fusion, but in no way is it a reskin

Really? The back and forth and prep work for purple took me like 20 tries to nail down

I don't mind exp share, but single use tm drops my interest

You gain the Wave Beam when you defeat the purple EMMI. I believe that's why it has the designation WB in it's name, E.M.M.I.-06WB

Did you face the purple emmi? I hated that one.

That's awesome, only things I've gotten early are what I think are power bombs (yellow upgrade) that says I can't use yet, and the cross bomb before gravity suit (still can't find that suit)

So would the Switch pack be a good jumping on point for someone who has never played?

I accidentally got to this boss before the gravity suit, by shinesparking the bottom left of the entrance shaft

Man I wish I could enjoy Dark Souls, but the one on the Switch is the only one I ever played and I'm just not a fan. Super clunky and frustrating. Which I know is a part of it's "charm" but they just aren't for me I guess

The worst offender to me was Super. It would have areas that aren't shown on the map that you needed to find to progress. This game handles that much better, but there are still occasions where I don't know where to go. I recently had to look up my next step because I missed bombing a corner section, but it was pretty obvious in hindsight. It had a little start of a tunnel that I missed

My copy is scratched to shiz so I've had to resort to emulation. But this game is still a blast to play, I would pre-order a Switch copy

Eventually I'll have to give Super another go, but I didn't enjoy my recent attempt at playing it

I'm loving Dread so far, and that immediately throws it into my top 5 ranking. Currently would be Prime, Prime 2, Fusion, Dread, Samus Returns. I could definitely see Dread surpassing at least Fusion and possibly the Primes as well, I'm having a lot of fun

Dread has been a blast so far, and tonight is DnD night, booya!

This is such a great game. The sound, backgrounds, entering a new save room where the lights are off so only her blue lights show. The detail is amazing. Only complaint is QTE in boss fights.

I'm not interested, I can't justify a console purchase just for a brighter screen. My OG Switch will play games just fine

Yes. This is the first game I've pre-ordered in a long time, and I'm very excited. Hopefully it works in small doses as these days that's all I can commit

Excited to come back here when I get stuck at every single boss and need more energy tanks or upgrades

Some of us are no longer children with nothing better to do, and don't have time to waste searching endlessly in a game. I'm very proud of you for beating Super guide free, but I ain't got time for that

I've had my Switch since launch, and have 2 left cons that are drifting BAD. The skyward ones are still going strong though

I played Super for the first time this year and was strongly let down. There was so much hype that I expected too much. It was a floaty, select pressing snoozefest for me. I personally didn't enjoy the lack of narrative or direction like everyone else did

Time to buy the dip? This is coming off of a 5 year high, stock prices are still twice what they were in '17

"Disguised as opinion" is the dumbest thing I've seen in a while. This is clearly the author's opinion. And though it might not be a popular one, there are some of us that agree. Fusion > Super

Yeah I can see that. I just personally loved the dark, eerie story that basically needed linearity to tell. Controls are super tight, only thing I'm not a fan of is the suit designs lol

I personally align with this article. Of the 2D metroids, I would pick fusion above the rest. My ranking top 5 would be Prime, Prime 2, Fusion, Samus Returns, and Zero Mission.

The original creators video even says he isn't worried about it getting taken down, as Nintendo seems to focus more on fan games rather than mods

I want a Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 1 and 2, Skyward Sword, any Pokémon, any Fire Emblem, or totally customizable themes

I've never played this. My top games would be Prime 1 and 2, Mario Sunshine, Thousand Year Door, Melee, Double Dash, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess

I like Krispy Kreme, just can't eat more than one donut before the sweetness overpowers.

Streaming mostly, I have a spotify playlist of Nintendo music. Remixes, covers, OSTs, there's a ton of great tunes. But I do love my Ocarina of Time vinyl.

Zelda, Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2, Metroid, Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy, Mario. All have amazing music

Gameboy and Gameboy Color games don't really hold up. GBA would be better, and even then I have them all emulated on my phone. Hopefully there are people who get excited for this, but I'm not one of them
