Love the character choices so far, it's a really balanced roster. It features must-haves (Spidey, Logan, Venom and Cap), takes interesting choices to represent teams (Storm and Rocket), has some mid-tier heroes (Nova and Norrin) and specially in picking lesser know alts to cover more popular heroes,
Thor? Beta Ray Bill
Hulk? She-Hulk
Captain Marvel? Phyla-Vell
Hopefully they can find a good direction for it or maybe rest it to go do something else for a bit like they did during the Blazblue years. I've been enjoying the series casually since Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus (R?) on PSP and I like the direction it's been going in, but they have been doing a lot of GG lately. 4 games in a decade is a lot. I'd actually really enjoy another BB, even though the story ended I'd like to see what they could do with a new story that picks up on the ending.
Whatever their next project is, I hope they get alt-costumes as a standard feature going forward.
Praying he says "well eeeeeexxccccuuuuuuuuuussssseeee me, Princess" at least once in this film. I'm sure Ganondorf, Impa and dad King will be big names to "balance" the cast. So it's really good they got unknown's for the main duo.
I would have payed Nintendo good money for a Lite dock, I already got a pro-controller for it. I bought a Lite because I knew I'd do 95% of my gaming in portable mode + it has a proper d-pad, but when that 5% itch to play in a big screen comes I get really annoyed that I can't just hook it up to the tv.
It's true that remakes are big undertakings, but Sega could consider doing ports of them for modern consoles & release them as collections. Sonic 1-3&Knuckles get re-released constantly, it's high time they do the same for the early 3D games.
If any AC game needs a remake it's AC1, which isn't even playable on modern consoles, but we're getting one for a game that still holds up, is very playable & it's everywhere to buy. I guess every AC game before Unity could use the "climb down" button to help the parkour flow better, so at least there's that going for it.
It looks really solid gameplay wise, but I wish they'd done more with the graphics. It looks like a PS3-era revival when we're in the middle of a beat em up renascence with lots of gorgeous & colorful pixel-art or hand-drawn looks.
Shame Yuke's got to make this, they have talent making fun games, but I can't remember the last one they made one that was pleasing to look at.
I always forget Link & Zelda are just a couple of kids, or teens at most, in the games. Looking for ages 16-23 means they're looking to portray them as been around 14-16 years old.
No, I go through each one in order once with a podium finish, then go back (again in order) to clear them out.
I do have the same issue in open world games, where I feel compelled to finish everything I possibly can before getting the ending. Which leads me to practically never replay an open world game. lol
I'd say BotW is the stronger overall experience, while TotK is the better game to play. The narrative and world are in better sync with what they do and how they do it, while TotK fully copying BotW's narrative choices actually detract from the world.
A great example is the Dragon's Tears, it would be pretty emotional story if told linearly, but the game just reuses the old Link's memories format that denies it momentum & it detracts from the ghost Zelda thing that's driving most of the main story, rather than providing insight and context to it like Link's Memories did in BotW.
I mean, if your goal is to upload the pics and videos to your PC this is still the best method. Using the phone is just adding a middle man, you'd still need to connect that device to the PC or sync the Photos app afterwards to download the files unto the PC remotely.
Great to know it plays great, will probably be 1 of the 1st games I get when I buy my NS2.
Really hope Nintendo sells official Joy-Con 2 variants with a proper d-pad. They should have done it for NS1 after the Lite released, make it more viable to play fighters on the go where you are almost certainly using the joy-con.
Only the GBA versions of Deadly Alliance is weird, I have to assume the PS2/GCN/Xbox version will also be announced in the future. Same with MK Gold and the console versions of MK4.
Not surprised Mythologies SZ, Special Forces and Shaolin Monks aren't here, but not sure what other place they'd include them in. A broader Midway Adventure games kollection perhaps? I know an MK Spin-Offs Kollection won't sell much, there aren't many of them and SM is the only worthwhile game.
it is important to note that since this is a fighting game, the characters are included in the key-card download, all fighting games do this to not break the online matchmaking into who has & who doesn't have the DLC. So that extra code is for a couple kilobyte's that unlocks the characters so you can select them.
It looks about the same as the PS4 version does, which honestly isn't dramatically far from where the PS5 performance mode is (higher crowd density, step-up textures, plus higher base resolution is basically it), which is pretty amazing results. It seems to be looking better than both PS5 modes when driving, as there doesn't seem to have the very visible ghosting at the back of the bike/car that PS5 has.
Hopefully the years of PS5 and Switch 1 enhanced rumble means the Switch 2 version will get more & better implementations. It's really cool when it's working well
I think they need a proper full reboot at this point, they wasted their opportunity by making this a MK11 sequel built on Multiverse shenanigans, with many questionable and controversial decisions that don't feel like permanent changes for the franchise (ej. Kuai Liang being Scorpion & random human Shinnok). Reminds me of the issues MK9-10 caused with killing the vast majority of the main cast between them, leaving them stuck to make a reset with MK11 (itself needing to focus on time shenanigans to have classic characters return).
Hopefully it won't be long before Nintendo allows much heavier games to disable Game Chat to free up resources. Handheld-mode in particular clearly needs all the resources it can get, it's taking a pretty big hit to the speeds.
Since the tv modes don't change resolution, I wonder if they're solely a case of switching DLSS from "quality" to "performance" mode just to hit the higher frame rate, or if there's other changes going on. I'm a bit worried about how low the internal res will be in that upscaled 720p-40fps mode, upscaler limits really start rearing their heads when they have to work from really low resolutions.
After a couple months of playing each outfit taking a character slot is going to make picking characters in a specific look borderline insufferable. I really hope you can at least filter by character to make it less painful long-term.
I don't expect Sony to have early access to NS2 dev kits so not surprised, I'm sure they'll get some for Bungie when they're more broadly available, and if the game doesn't tank early on, we'll get a port next year.
@Serpenterror offline VS mode!! I'm so happy, that's really what I missed most about Fighting Collection 1 & what's turned me off from buying the other collections.
@TheMisterManGuy why are you bringing in the very hypothetical GTA6 price in here? For all we know Take-2 is as likely to charge $120 up-front as they are to sell it for $60 to get more people in the door to up-sell shark cards. GTA's price is a moot point until R* or Take-2 talks about it.
The price is more competitive when you compare it to other tablets & handhelds, particularly for the screen specs, the Nvidia tech & what comes in the box. The base iPad is the same price (for equivalent storage), Apple & Samsung outright won't sell you a120hz tablet unless you pay $1000.
The big question is if Nintendo will push for S2 to be a bigger multi-media machine? it really needs the big streaming services if they want it to serve as people's primary device.
The idea of a Zelda pack, with a whole (yet smaller) Hyrule map and a bunch of Zelda characters is something many would actually pay for. That's a $30-40 expansion right there. lol
I fully expect themed Expansions during MKW's lifetime, given how well received the guest characters in 8 were. By the end it will be more of a "Nintendo Kart World" than Mario Kart..
Cyberpunk is very much attuned to Nvidia GPUs so the S2 has a leg up in compatability. I wonder if that's the base resolution or already DLSS upscaled?
I don't think the use case for this joy-con feature will improve outside of certain games where the change-up is useful for certain actions (menu navigation in Cyberpunk is going to be so much better with this), but for mouse heavy games like strategy, point&click and shooters, people that really care will just hook up a proper mouse to the Switch and use that.
I get why it has a whole paragraph at the bottom, unlike PS4 game that come with a free PS5 upgrade (small bubble above the rating informs you) or a PS5 box with a PS5 disc, they're selling you an aggressively S2 box with a S1 cart and an extra S2 upgrade code, so a big disclaimer is warranted. Seriously the red box and 2 giant "Switch 2" banners are like Nintendo screaming at you it's S2. If they didn't want to bother with the hassle of S1 & S2 carts then just go the Xbox way of having a singular box with a "Series S/X enhanced" label on it and the console is smart enough to download the correct version depending on your Xbox.
It looks awesome, it's basically Forza Horizon or The Crew: Mario Edition! I prefer racing games that work in closed circuits where I do my laps and that's it, heck MK8 bothered me that you have to fire up a whole Grand Prix to play rather than picking single tracks, so I'm likely never going to get it, but it really looks slick.
hopefully there's proper mouse support and games aren't stuck to the joy-con for it, they suck for the use case, but connecting a proper mouse would make for a pretty big difference.
Gotta release 1-Reach as the Bungie saga in 1 package, then add on 4-Infinite later on to the Collection. Then a Halo Wars 2-pack taking advantage of the mouse functionality.
IMO it's there primeraly to activate the mouse functionality on the joy-con and to a lesser extent also allow P2 to take screenshots when using the joy-con individually.
so it's most likely just going to be a rebadged Rog Ally 2? these machines are so Xpensive as is, I'm not sure being Xbox branded will do much for the price even if Microsoft were to try subsidize it a bit.
Multiversus was really fun to play, but man was it GaaS hell with how expensive everything was to get. It just deflated the whole package because it drowned the solid core gameplay. Can't believe they never added Daffy Duck to the game, the 2nd biggest Looney Tune character; a Daffy-Porky duo (the Duck Dodgers cartoon skin would have gone crazy) in the style of the new cartoons would have been an extremely fun character to play, like Tom-Jerry.
