Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - SNES Classic Mini Console

8thDoctor

  • The Japanese box-art is gorgeous and eye-catching. It's great, would make you look twice.
  • The NA box-art has too much going on, & assuming all 3 boxes are the same size, the console itself looks small & crammed in the middle rather than being the center-piece. Any specific games and their logos should be relegated to the back of the box, except SF2.
  • Europe does it a bit better, the console looks to take up most of the front, but there's so much regulatory bs cluttering it. Useful game count too!

PS. Consoles need to bring back colored-coded face buttons!

Re: Bandai Namco, Square Enix And Other Japanese Publishers Aren't Happy About OpenAI's Sora 2 Generative AI Tool

8thDoctor

Should be an easy win for CODA, OpenAI making their tools opt-out instead of opt-in was blatantly in the wrong.
All the big AI models (chat bots, image generators and video generators) are already trained on all of this IP before the public even gets a sniff of them, the very existence of the tech as it stands hinges on a "they won't sue us" mentality. Which to be fair, has mostly paid off.

Re: Opinion: One Year On, Every Positive 'Pokémon TCG Pocket' Update Still Comes With A Catch

IMO the 10-pack option should feature some guarantee. Like guarantee a new card from the whole pack so it feels like it's still worthwhile when you're close to finishing the booster pack. So even if it doesn't give a diamond to help finish, a new star card would give you that nice hit that feels was worthwhile. As it stands, once you have less than 20 diamond cards left you're better off holding unto your pack-points than wasting them on that booster.

Hope it's an amalgam of GT and Daima SSJ4, in the same vein as kid Goku is of DB and GT. He could really use a little of the red "x10 Kamehameha" juice to stand out among the other 20 characters that shoot a blue kamehameha.

Can't believe Goku gets yet another variant, while Superhero Piccolo was right there to give the poor guy some extra juice. At this point just make a sequel. lol

Re: Nintendo Of America President Doug Bowser Announces Retirement

Nintendo sure likes Sales & Marketing people being President. lol
I wish him a nice retirement, he chose to be a more behind the scenes president, though it's just harder to gauge his impact when he's not as in-your-face as Reggie was. I'm sure he did his best in the role and was fairly successful, which was make the shareholders a mountain of cash in the US of A.

Re: Opinion: Silksong's Soundtrack Rules, But You Should Turn It Off

@JumpingJackson Yes it is a thing on the PC1. Though at least from my experience it's a little too subtle, as if the vibrations are coming from deep within the controller and barely making it to my hands. It's different compared to say a dualshock 5 where you can feel the unique vibrations more intensely.
This could just be the games I've been played with it & I do my best to try most games with it since my Lite doesn't have rumble.

Re: 007 First Light Adds Another Big Name To Its Cast List

Clearly I have to rewatch Waters of Mars, as I don't remember her in it.
Sounds like her job is to give you challenges & missions to complete outside the story in a Danger Room environment & maybe provide ways to replay missions via simulation? It does create a easy avenue to do DLC based on the movies though, by adding sandboxes based on them (the circus from Octopussy could work wonders in a Hitman format).

Urban settings can work & look great, this one just looks so boring and samey, every video just seems to have the same 3 or 4 buildings copy-pasted as far as the eye can see. You have to treat a city map as if you were designing any other type of open world, it should have distinct areas with different themes. I get they wouldn't want to show wealth disparities, but an industrial zone, a shopping zone, a business zone, and a historic zone are examples of things they could do, all with unique aesthetics and color palettes to distinguish them while looking like it's all the same city.
