It's a pic about a 15 year old game he clearly played a fairly big part in getting made as a co-founder, these adult men have been feuding for 9 years and given PlayDate's nonexistent output since, I'm tempted to believe Jensen has been a bit sidetracked by this beef. Aside from the cringe aspect of actually using LinkedIn social media aspect, artists should be able to share celebration of their past project and they generally do. This is nothing new particularly using publicly available art or images of the game.
I would have preferred them go in the opposite direction and made THPS3 free roam if the plan was to equalize them. I bet a lot of the challenges will be harder because you're time limited from the spawn point of the level, rather than letting you start out in a set place after accepting it.
@PokeMadness1996 for this 1 specific game it does matter because this is exclusively about the battles. There's no lore, no grand story, no vibes from the journey; just a clean, no nonsense 2v2 turn based-battle game, so yeah I think this game would warrant a bit more detail put into the battles from models to animations.
Looks like fun, but graphically looks as bad as PLA and PSV, Pokémon games really need a stronger artistic direction and color palette. Hope the dynamic resolution and fps ceiling are high so the Switch 2 can force the game to look and run well on it.
First 3, now 4, I imagine Ys 7 will get ported next given 5 & 6 have gotten the least attention so far. It's going to be nice eventually having the whole series to play on console
insane to have a DLC poll with strict fan favorites like Vivi & Enel, also a solid third of that list are characters that were playable in PW3 including Enel.
the biggest thing this would bring for the Switch 2 is devs adding mouse support to games, so there's a good chance you could just connect your own mouse to the dock or a usb-c port to use that instead of the joy-cons.
at 8 years old pretty much anyone that was even curious about getting one has one, and in all that time Nintendo still refuses to drop the price. A $50 price drop last year could have given them a bump in sales.
Not every year is going to be a top year, still good possibility we get another RERemake or RE9 near the end of fiscal year to give it a push near the end. Switch 2 is VERY likely to get proper ports for RE2R, RE3R, RE4R, RE7 AND RE8 in short order which will undoubtedly bring in some healthy revenue for a fairly low investment, since full-fat RE engine already runs on ARM thanks to the iOS/Mac ports.
It's unbelievably constricted & convoluted. You have to pick a friend first, then select one of your cards, then pray to Arceus that they decide to offer a card you want or that the card you offered even interests them in the first place. The game should show you your friends card and allow you to pick one you want (assuming they have at least 3 of them), then your friend sees your collection of same rarity cards and picks which they want.
@Vivianeat Nope, the story is a direct continuation of the previous games. Mechanics wise you could call it a reboot since it's taken the essentials & built on them will removing fluff and unneeded complexity that's built up over the past 2 decades.
I think $400 will be the base price, then $480 for the Mario Kart bundle with a case & some other extras thrown in. $350, and $400 for the Mario Kart bundle, would have it sell like hotcakes, but that's wishful thinking.
@-wc- I'd love it if my Switch Lite could dock, I got no problem buying a separate Lite Dock and Pro controller afterwards, but Nintendo has to think of the common denominator and about price. The family that will buy the console box for their kid & expect everything they need to run the hardware to come bundled in, it's easier to have removable controllers than to add a $70 extra in the box.
You're limited by having to bring everything in the box, including being able to do everything while connected to a TV or on the go, and pricing is a concern. I just don't see how they innovate or do something unique without making a pure portable or home-console. Maybe when tech like foldable screens become cheap & resilient enough to be an option we'll get a breakthrough.
This is not a DSi or New 3DS thing, where everything works with the old model & just has a couple bells & whistles if you play it on the new 1. More like a NES to SNES, GB/C to GBA, DS to 3DS, a straightforward sequel to the previous model, with the mouse thing being the little extra that adds some spice.
Tech wise this handhelds aren't that much more advanced than Switch 2 will be, the iGPU's are all around PS4/Pro-ish levels which the Switch 2 should be in that ballpark too and for a significantly lower price point. If Nvidia keeps the Switch DLSS version up to date Switch will get all the fancy DLSS4 improvements that's getting back-ported (basically everything not including the Frame-Gen stuff), while this isn't getting FSR4. Not to say they don't have a market or their own benefits, the specs are much nicer and AMD CPU should run circles around Nvidia's aging stock ARM CPU.
@AllBLK Exactly, this is pretty normal in the tech world. Every phone and tablet has nothing to surprise, except the look of the color options when unveiled, because by then we've seen every single technical detail leak months beforehand.
The average person doesn't care, nor hears about any of this. So it still hits big when Nintendo holds their Direct
the new button looks like another screenshot button, probably so both split screen players can take pictures on it rather than only whoever gets to use the left joy-con.
@MrCarlos46 Either way, if its Nintendo of America or the retailers getting consoles, the tariff cost is getting passed unto the consumer at check-out.
I get the point of a larger 8" screen for split-screen uses, & possibly media consumption if we finally get the streaming services on it, but that is unwieldly big for handheld gaming. It's going to be a giant jump from my baby 5.5" Lite screen which I consider an amazing size for most on-the-go gaming.
I love that their concept trailer implies doing all 23 movies (at the time) at once.. James Bond could have been a massive undertaking and franchise potential, specially if you do 2 Bond actors per game and then a Complete version at the end.
AMD has an FSR equivalent to support older games or just games that don't implement it, called Radeon Super Resolution (RSR). Even do Sony & Microsoft don't make use of it I think Nvidia could push something out the Switch could use, it's never going to be as good as the game specific version, but decent upscaling of older games with low resolution targets could really benefit.
Given it's pretty much a Star Fox 64 reimagining, which in itself was a Star Fox 1 reboot, just remaster Star Fox 64 3D for the Switch and call it a day. The franchise needs to move on from the past again with a sequel to Assault or a story between 64 and Adventure.
"Near future super ninja goes out to defeat an evil group" is basically the extent of the plot of the series, so there's very broad ways to tackle this without really thinking of it as a videogame adaptation. Even Musashi's outfit is a pretty standard ninja look.
EDIT: Funny thing is if this is a hit I can see Hollywood jumping for the right to make a Ninja Gaiden project, maybe even Tenchu or Shinobido projects, just jumping on that bandwagon.
Since Zelda doesn't speak in this game, it would have been fun to have Link speak fully inverting the roles. Not like there's voice acting in the game anyway to give him a "voice".
To help with the controls, flip the analog sticks on the Switch menu, then select control style 1.2 in game. That gives you modern twin stick controls, aiming is still unwieldy but more comfortable. If you also flip LT and RT you'll get the full modern shooter controls.
