Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Metroid

My number 1 pick is north america classic series and number 2 is the europe version. I don't like the japanese version since it looks like a bit cartoony while the english version looks more serious.

Re: Poll: How Much Internal Storage Would Be Reasonable For 'Switch 2'?

wiiware

128GB would be nice, although I don't care much about internal storage as long as we get good non-proprietary external solutions.

I hope it's not sdcard though since it's slow compared to ssd on ps5 or xbox series, maybe the switch 2 could get smaller ssd for it's external solution, although maybe even the smaller sdd is too big for the console.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (January 6th)

Playing castlevania dawn of sorrow on my new 2ds xl, I never have nintendo ds and only have 3ds xl for a short time (for playing super mario 3d land and sold it again because I don't like the screen and the system is too big), so I'm missing so many classic games on the ds/3ds era. And after this I still have the 2 sequels, castlevania potrait of ruin and order of ecclesia, man I love this console πŸ˜ƒ

I wish switch 2 have the body of new 2ds xl (with 2 screens) so we can get castlevania ds remaster with crisper 1080p resolutions, and many other old ds/3ds games too.

Also just bought full void and alwa's awakening/cathedral evercade cart, I'm playing full void first since it's a bit short compared to other cart. It's a pretty good game, like prince of persia or another world but with easier difficulty, you still die a lot but it's not frustating since the checkpoint is fair.

Re: Talking Point: Along With Joy-Con Drift, What Does Nintendo Have To 'Fix' With 'Switch 2'?

wiiware

The audio, I want to have atmos or at least 5.1 surround support for every switch 2 games. It's annoying playing switch games on tv that didn't have that audio support, while playing it on ps5/xbox the games has it.

I like playing indie games like shantae and the seven sirens on switch in portable setting and continue it on my tv, but the audio is way inferior compared to playing it on ps5.

I actually didn't experience joycon drift even though I have switch 1, v2, lite, and last, switch oled (I usually sold the previous version before buying the new one).

Re: Soapbox: It Feels Like Everyone Forgot The Best Switch RPG Of The Year

wiiware

@VoidofLight I remember when final fantasy 7 is out on psone back then, squaresoft market the heck of it on gaming magazine and others place. But unlike ff7, octopath isn't big enough for the type of marketing like that, so most ps5 gamers didn't know about the game, they just see the number 2 and not interested in it since they can't play the first one I think.

@Grumblevolcano I agree, squareenix should release it on quiet month when there's no big game on the horizon. Especially not in the same month as hogwarts legacy.

Re: Soapbox: It Feels Like Everyone Forgot The Best Switch RPG Of The Year

I think the switch exclusivity gave the first game a lot of attention, squareenix should make the second one exclusive too for at least a year or half year in exchange of additional promotion by nintendo rather than release it on all other system and be forgotten.

Also squareenix should port the first game on ps5 too, I don't think many ps5 gamers want to buy the second game while the first one isn't available for their system. Squareenix should release the first game and sells a bundle of the first and second octopath game for ps5.

Re: Hideki Kamiya Reveals Why He Left PlatinumGames

wiiware

I hope he can find new job or maybe make a new studio soon. I enjoyed platinum games (bayonetta series, nier) and I hope platinum will be fine without him too.

Why there's many salty people in this thread, maybe kamiya blocked them on twitter lol.

Re: Your 'Nintendo Switch Year In Review 2023' Stats Are Available Now

wiiware

Nice, after playstation we're getting nintendo years in reviews

My first game in 2023 is deedlit in wonder labyrinth, most played games astalon tears of the earth, metroid prime remastered and ninja saviors return of the warrior (I like to replay the game since it's so fun to play).

@TotalHenshin Man 3DS activity log app is so good, it's really gave us detailed views of our gaming time on the console, I wish switch or at least switch 2 will have app like that.

It's kind of funny our old console is more feature complete than the new one, my new 2ds xl and ps4 have true folders on homescreen while switch and ps5 don't.

Re: PC Port Of Zelda: Link's Awakening Offers HD Visuals And 120fps Scrolling

wiiware

This looks awesome but the adventure seems so... small, getting to the sword is just a couple of seconds, which feels like a walk compared to the gameboy version which feels like an adventure with more screens transition.

Weirdly I didn't feels that with the 3D remake for switch, maybe because link walking speed is slower compared to the 2D version, so it didn't feels getting the sword is just a short walk. I think prefer playing the normal gameboy colour version on my gba sp and analogue pocket first, and the 3D remake second.

Re: Capcom Unveils Monster Hunter Wilds, Coming In 2025

wiiware

World (wilds) series is for next (current) gen games, rise series is for portables I think. Maybe capcom will release it for switch 2, or maybe make monhun rise 2 exclusive for switch 2 hardware rather than making inferior port of monhun wilds for switch 2.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 4th)

wiiware

Can't stop playing my new 2ds xl lol, compared to switch the screen is way inferior, but man the console feels so right in my hand, so in the end I like playing games on it more than on switch.

Now I'm playing shovel knight and shantae risky revenge on 2ds xl, unlike shovel knight however, risky revenge are nearly unplayable on ps4 and pc because the pixels are too big and pixelated for tv & monitor, playing it on switch is okay, but man playing in on 2ds xl is the real deal, the graphics are perfect for xl πŸ˜ƒ

@wazlon It's a really good, collector device, if you want to emulate games with nearly perfect emulation, you can't go wrong with it, the hardware is really solid with great display too.

There are cheaper option however if you just want to play older games (like miyo mini, etc). The analogue pocket is expensive at $220, add $100 if you want to play it on tv, and don't forget to add $60 for shipping (if you're in asia country).

I didn't buy the dock when I bought analogue pocket a year ago, now with cps2 core already available I want to buy it, but the total price with shipping is $160, plus about 20% tax in my country πŸ˜
