Just handle this IP to a proper japanese developer and you'll get a good game for once. Even the worst Square Enix product is still better crafted (and feels more like a Lord of the Rings entry) than this.
The best manufacturer right there. I have one of their cases for the Steam Deck and it's a beast, very good build quality and materials. Just ordered a matcha green for my Switch 2.
@Ultimapunch It was acceptable in 1998 when no one ever crafted a game like that, it's a very different situation in 2025 because any other system can deliver (and Astrobot actually delivered) more.
@Debo626 Those controllers came with the option to use a rechargeable battery pack (USB), being easily replaced a couple years later if needed. Having the OPTION to use AAs simply warrant you decades of lifetime for an electronic - which companies don't want for obvious reasons.
Talk about the environment when you have to discard a controller and buy a new one because it's nearly un-repairable...
At this point, every controller should be fine with 2x or 4x AAs, they just don't care and want you to buy a second one once it fails. Not going to defend XBox (which is far from having an ergonomic controller), but they got that part right ages ago.
They have been releasing mediocre to plain bad games for quite some time now, so it's probably gone for good. I feel bad for everyone who lost their jobs and worked so hard on this project.
Get the ROM file if you can't wait that long, don't support those FOMO practices LRG keeps promoting. It was deliberately delayed to not hurt the repurposed physical cart (GBA) sales.
Typical defensive stance taken by managers or even CEOs. It's funny how these companies treat customers, like they were entirely disposable for their own survival as a business.
Honestly, I prefer it this way. The "everyone is here" trend just got tiresome over time, and having some cohesive cast (just like in Double Dash days) feels like a plus.
That game was a hallmark of inventive tech used in a simple way. I wish we've got a re-release on modern devices that used the brightness sensor or front cameras somehow. It works pretty well on emulators.
For Splatoon 3, I barely played any multiplayer matches. My focus was solely on its (incredible) single player campaign and the DLC. Octo Expansion was among my favorite Switch experiences back in 2018, although I had much more fun with 2's matches, splatfests and salmon runs than any other multiplayer in recent memory.
It will never be used. Most Switch carts that were supposed to fit up to 32GB never shipped, devs simply chose to go with the cheapest 4GB card + downloading the rest of the game files.
Oh, come on. Corporate greed is doing it, not the fact there are a number of unanswered questions. The pricing and several anti-customer strategies killed this reveal.
Pure corporate greed. Watch those "physical" editions become their nastiest excuse to pack in a code leaflet with a plastic key in every single opportunity.
In what timeline is 23.4 GB small? It's getting worse from there. The new "game key cards" are going to kill the only purpose of physical media - saving precious storage space.
@axelhander Indies can last up to 5 hours, everything else (AAA) is below 3h. Far from ideal for a portable device, but acceptable if you treat it as a PC and always leave the power cord on.
Just like the Katana Zero DLC that was promised half a decade ago, this game/dev lost credibility after so many delays. Hopefully it doesn't sell poorly when (and if) it releases.
The game keeps losing relevance (and trust) after each delay. I'm not even remotely interested as I was 2 years ago. It might come out someday... hopefully.
MH Rise looked great and was a Switch exclusive for quite some time, and I never had a single issue with that game regarding to performance. Hard to understand why Wilds looks so poorly optimized.

It failed for a good reason.

@SegaDude113 You got it wrong, pal. Was talking about other games, not FFT.
Re: Crash Bandicoot Co-Creator Believes The Remakes "Botched" The Jump Mechanics
I tried to explain that to everyone, but never found out WHAT was actually wrong. The platforming is much worse in each of those titles.

Re: Donkey Kong Bananza Director Acknowledges Performance Drops: "We Prioritized Fun And Playability"
You can't have fun and smooth "playability" without stable performance. It's exactly what you should prioritize when graphics aren't the focus.

Greedy design decisions as always.

That was the best Final Fantasy, and the last one that was truly superb from start to finish.

Re: Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster Controversially Cuts War Of The Lions Content
If the trade-off is quality (WotL on phones wasn't exactly the best port we've got), that's fair.
No FF re-releases had anything from GBA or PSP versions, so...

Re: Talking Point: Are You Excited At All For Switch 2 GameChat?
I have Discord and it's free.
For a $500 hardware, that option shouldn't come as part of a subscription plan (+$50 for the camera) at all.
Re: Hideki Kamiya Intended To Continue Bayonetta With Another Trilogy
Third game was a huge disappointment. I'd rather be done with what we've got.
Re: Don't Worry, 'Ori And The Blind Forest' Dev Probably Isn't Shutting Down
