This is probably being done to avoid mentioning each of the "older" names and instead credit the original staff as a whole, so they don't breach a way for people to barge in demanding profit sharing because their name appeared in the newer version and they weren't aware of that.
I mean... come on. We're talking about a company that sues individuals for romhacking and save editors, what else would you expect?
1 was the pinnacle of its genre, maybe surpassed by DMC V at some point, 2 was good and relaxing, 3 was a hard entry to swallow. Hopefully the franchise won't end there.
Be warned: all LiveWire games got delisted out of nowhere in certain storefronts, except Radiant Silvergun. You'll have about a year or two to purchase this one.
A shame this isn't part of M2 STG series, but the X360 version instead. Hopefully it will get to the west alongside Mushihimesama Futari at some point.
Not a fan of micromanagement at all, but one must understand that such heavy quality control reflects on the end product's... quality. It seems obvious but no one cares about small details in most western game studios.
@romanista Which means preservation is at a halt since they don't have any other way to distribute official soundtracks outside a Switch Online plan. I fail to see who's their audience with this app, really. I like the idea but the subscription model is just wrong for people who don't own the hardware, it costs more than Spotify but offers way less, with no Desktop version as well.
The drip-feeding strategy will not work with this one. People will just go back to Youtube when a game (among hundreds of unavailable games) isn't there.
One of my favorite games from the past gen. It was stellar and the gamepad usage was brilliant. A shame it required a bit of learning and people gave up.
@Dr_Lugae Pachinko and other minigames remained exactly the same in Virtual Console releases back then. There is even a gambling minigame in Wario Land, slot machines in Mario Land 2, various casino minigames in SNES Yoshi's Island, a freaking CASINO in Super Mario RPG... well, you get the idea. None of those games received a higher rating in the release/re-releases.
@Cia Except you are. At the end of BotW, you only care about Royal gear because endgame enemies get 10x more health and no other weapon gets enough durability to stand a single encounter. In Silver Lynel fights, you switch between everything you have at your inventory and ends up wasting at least 3 good melee weapons. For what? Are the rewards really worth that much? Anyway, the strategy is always: 1- Farm Durians, cook all five in a single dish to full recovery + 20 bonus hearts; 2- Go to the castle, loot weapons, ignore enemies, warp outside; 3- Buy arrows.
@hd94 That's my point - BotW had a much wider lifespan in said social networks OUTSIDE its bunker on Reddit or game-specific forums. Talking about general media here. We have GOTY news because it was obviously nominated, but that's about it, it's been months since the last "player xxyyz makes impossible ultrahand build" article.

Re: Hideki Kamiya Wants Nintendo To Reboot Virtual Console For Switch 2
Just emulate it, that's a sad truth. Not coming back.
Re: Japan's Switch eShop Will Soon No Longer Accept Overseas Payment Methods
What's the point of having a region-free system if you can't make purchases outside your region?
Re: PSA: Trading Is Finally Live In Pokémon TCG Pocket, But It's A Real Headache
This is The Pokémon Company at their finest, I didn't expect less.
Re: Rare Konami GBA Gem 'Ninja Five-O' Gets February Release Date
Very expensive, but at least it's a Konami release and (hopefully) not one of many barebones ports out there.
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Donkey Kong Country Returns HD?
The game has serious issues in the multiplayer mode that needs a patch ASAP:

Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Donkey Kong Country Returns HD
@SBandy1 It drops during a boss fight and the octopus stage, and yet those are about 5-6 frames for a few seconds.
Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Donkey Kong Country Returns HD
@LadyCharlie It's far from that. The 3DS version ran at 30fps while this is a solid 60fps. Not to mention lower resolution etc.

Re: Nintendo Lawyer Breaks Down What Makes An Emulator Illegal
I personally use to have access to long gone, defunct software.
Re: Retro Staff Credits Removed From Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, Forever Entertainment Confirmed As Devs
Forever Entertainment is always bad news. A real shame they were chosen to remaster this game.
Re: Genki Claims The 'Switch 2' Joy-Con Can Be Removed By 'Brute Force'
@Citano This is a long gone issue. LCD and OLED panels aren't affected by magnetic fields like CRTs were back then.
Only old HDDs... and those are vanishing as well.
Re: Is This Our Best Look Yet At 'Switch 2'?
It took them long enough to reveal anything. Good luck with the proper marketing to sell this system now that everything leaked months ahead.

Re: SNK Announces ACA NEOGEO Selection Vol. 3 And Vol. 4 For Switch
Poor selection, honestly. Why not sort it by genre, year, etc? It would make more sense than a completely random choice of titles.
Re: After Sharing Switch 2 Images, Dbrand Is Back With Actual Measurements
Months and months without a single word about the new hardware. Of course that leak would happen.

Re: Opinion: Chrono Trigger Isn't The Only Great Time-Travel RPG On DS
What made me quit this game was the annoying confirm/cancel sounds from the menus. I wish they could change that in a future remaster.
Re: Nintendo Adds Metroid Prime 4: Beyond To Official Metroid Website, Says It's "Coming Soon"
@GravyThief It's closer to Prime 3 judging by the trailer and Kensuke Tanabe being involved with the production (again).
Re: Nintendo Adds Metroid Prime 4: Beyond To Official Metroid Website, Says It's "Coming Soon"
It's going to be a Switch 2 launch title.
Re: Video: New Switch Online Trailer Highlights Classic Pokémon Games
Easily solved with a .gba file, but it could've been officially released since the dawn of Switch Online service.

Re: Talking Point: How Would You Fix Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom's Most Frustrating Feature?
They should stop trying to make every Zelda entry play like Breath of the Wild. That's a good place to start.

Framerate made me wait until it's fixed.

@BTB20 They still break and that's the problem. Permanently losing an item that took time and effort to make is never a good thing.

Bring back the NeoGeo games or at least the CD ones. There's not a single Arcade Archives game since Sunset Riders that's worth a purchase.
