@Mgalens You don't pay 40 bucks to watch a single movie on Netflix. Cloud services tend to last for 2-3 years tops, whenever the interest for a game drops, they shut it down. So yes, it's exactly the same as watching a Netflix movie that will be gone in 2-3 years when the deal expires.
Battles are really smooth now, but I wish they added an option to toggle between the new font and the "retro" one in the classic mode. Other than that, the port is working great. Better late than never!
Only in certain weapons, like wooden or rusty. If they're going to put durability in everything, at least let us repair the weapons from time to time. The constant inventory management was one of the worst aspects in BotW.
Screw those "professional" rating grades and the whole collector's speculation around them. It's just another copy of a mass-produced game that was meant to be opened and played. There are still thousands of Pokémon Yellow cartridges out there and an infinite amount of digital copies available for download.
Please go beyond the "remember SNES JRPGs?" trope, we've come a long way since I Am Setsuna, which was heavily marketed as the Chrono Trigger sequel we wanted.
I liked some things about the game but... it's one one the worst designed games EVER. You're literally encouraged to avoid all battles and there is no point on wasting resources, not even on bosses, considering they all have a "master sticker" gimmick that's absolutely mandatory for progression. It really feels like one of those needlessly cryptic NES games that had to artificially extend the play time. It had no party members, it had no memorable characters, the humor was so-so, battles were incredibly boring... a waste of a Paper Mario entry in almost every sense of the word.
No matter how many new games they deliver, they can't top the GameCube + GBA lineup. And I didn't even had either back then. They're just... bursting with a creative power the industry lost over time.
I really wonder what's the point of going through multiple seasons of something that could've been streamlined as a movie trilogy or multiple movies. The overall quality suffers from a lower budget, the actors won't stay forever (specially if they're expensive actors), the plot becomes a mess if you keep switching directors/writers very often...
Well, its obviously cheaper to throw it on a streaming service and call it a day.
Stickerbush Symphony has to be it. It engulfs the world in peace and always takes me back to a place where joy and happiness were daily treats. I miss the late 1990s so much.
@ModdedInkling I wouldn't say most 1hko's I've been taking from katanas, rollers and brushes look fair. Those have high mobility and high range/spread area. Regular splattershots have been nerfed to hell to favor new weapons.
This game is heavily unbalanced in the multiplayer vs scene. Certain weapons deal way too much damage and specials are just out of control. Ink levels are extremely low, even weak sub weapons spend about 80% of it in one use. I'm having a hard time to enjoy turf battles in this game the same way I did with Splatoon 2.
@Rovelius I believe it is, to this day, the most authentic Lord of the Rings videogame experience, even if completely unrelated to Lord of the Rings. It has the same Tolkien feel in its world and characters, with Grigori being an incredible parallel to Smaug.
Western developers can't make good licensed games for sh*t. Rogue Squadron 2, Arkham trilogy and The Witcher 3 are very rare examples. When it comes to RPGs, things get even uglier.
I'm pretty sure Capcom's Dragon's Dogma would've made the perfect LOTR RPG.
After a couple hours of gameplay I still prefer the 2nd game's multiplayer, OST, menus and weapon selection. Campaign got a huge improvement and there are several relevant QoL changes everywhere (Lobby now makes sense), but the gameplay got too chaotic and unbalanced for my tastes. There aren't many good weapon choices and most sub/special combinations are weird. Close-ranged weapons aren't always properly balanced with close-ranged specials, and certain damage calculations just seems... wrong? In theory they have made some interesting adjustments to the formulas but in practice your ink supply is nearly non-existent to use the weapons effectively, and I always find myself getting caught with an empty tank while trying to aim a bomb right after a full recharge dive.
Simply put, it just doesn't feel as good to play against other people.
For $40, that's somewhat insulting. I'll wait for a reasonable price drop. This isn't a super-rare Cave shooter that received tons of QoL updates from M2 ST line. It's just an ordinary shmup that got a sequel no one asked for.
@Serpenterror BotW isn't a Wii U port. It's just a product that got released simultaneously on two Nintendo platforms, the same way Sonic Frontiers will be a multiplatform (PC/PS4/Switch/XBox) title.

Re: Nintendo Reminds Us Advance Wars For Switch Is One Month Out From Release
Again, this should've been a $40 title. It will sell poorly and kill the franchise for once.
Re: Video: Everything To Do Before The 3DS And Wii U eShops Shut Down
@heathenmagic Some methods used to require a purchase of certain games, but I don't think that's a concern anymore.
Re: Video: Everything To Do Before The 3DS And Wii U eShops Shut Down
Install a custom firmware and you're set.
Re: Random: Hideki Kamiya Thinks Bayonetta Origins Will Help People Make Babies
I'd rather pay $20 for Okami HD and boost my interest in owning a dog.
Re: Shovel Knight Dig 'Fate And Fortune' Free DLC Update Announced
The game is heavily unfinished, with balancing issues in every corner. Hopefully the DLC helps to fix it.
Re: Poll: Bayonetta Origins Is Out On Switch This Week, Are You Getting It?
60$ for it is a big no
Re: The First Review For The New Action RPG Trinity Trigger Is Now In
Remember "I Am Setsuna" and how much it promised to be the true Chrono Trigger successor? Turns out it sucked and no one remembers it.

Re: Nintendo Updates 'Switch Online + Expansion Pack' Trailer With New Footage
You could've added "Stadium" in the title but nah, the bait must work.
Re: Capcom Ending Resident Evil 7 Cloud Rental Service On Switch
Cloud games are a rental. You don't own a thing.
Re: Gallery: Get A Closer Look At The Jakks Pacific Mario Movie Toys
Absolutely hideous. I'm glad it will be over soon and we won't see those for another year or so.
Re: Hands On: Bayonetta Origins Is Shaping Up To Be An Elegant, Enchanting Spin-Off
For $60? Just no.
Re: Pokémon Red And Blue Soundtrack Now Available For Stream And Download
There's always a catch when it comes to "free" Nintendo/Pokémon stuff. Impressive.

Re: Poll: Was That A Super Show Cameo In The Latest Mario Movie Trailer?
It gets worse every new trailer or image.
Re: New Posters Revealed For The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Take A Look
We just need a proper fan dub and this movie will be great. The north american cast is awful from what we've seen so far.
Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Apparently Has The Biggest File Size Of Any First-Party Switch Release
This is absolutely impractical as a digital download.
Re: Random: Metroid Prime's OG Engineer Isn't Happy About The Remastered Doors
This change actually made the doors easier to spot from a distance, specially in Switch Lite's small screen. I wouldn't fix anything.
Re: Iconic GoldenEye "Gong" Sound Is Present And Correct In Switch Online Version
That wonderfully coded emulator will be $30 plus tax. Have fun.
Re: Feature: 6 Things We'd Love To See In Metroid Prime 4
Prime 1 and 2 were just perfect. Prime 3 was... eh... alright. Doesn't feel like a Metroid game for about 1/3 of it.

Nothing of value was lost here.
Re: Best Of 2022: How Do Game Developers And Artists Feel About The Rise Of AI Art?
It's useless to fight against AI art. Reinvent yourself and learn to deal with it. That's how art survived back when photography was invented.

Re: Best Of 2022: How's Your Switch Holding Up After 5 Years?
Drift is the worst thing about it. Both analog sticks now have it, but everything else seems fine.

Sushi Striker for $35 on a freaking sale is absolutely unacceptable. It was always a $20 game.

Probably DJ Octavio making a comeback.
Re: Looks Like A Third ‘Voice Of Cards’ Game From Yoko Taro Is On The Way
Why not make a single entry that fleshed out enough to stand out among other RPGs? The two existing games are okay at best.

Re: Video: Will Switch First-Party Games Ever Get A Permanent Price Drop?
Greed pretty much defines Nintendo. Full price for a 5 year old DIGITAL product is unacceptable.
Re: Metal Slug Tactics Delayed To Next Year
Go master Metal Slug 1, 2/X and 3 until then. They're essential.
Re: Adventure Game 'Calme' Reminds Us Of Ni No Kuni And Octopath Traveler
It's just Bravely Default. There's nothing that remotely resembles Octopath or Ni No Kuni.

First game is a masterpiece. I never played the 2nd but I hope the remaster improves upon a lot of stuff.
Re: Reggie Explains Why The Nintendo Wii U Didn't Utilise Dual GamePad Support
A fantastic console with some bad decisions and poor marketing. Better than Switch under certain aspects.
Re: Random: We Need To Play This Gorgeous Fan-Made Super Mario RPG Remake Now
Soul was removed, but I'd still pay for a proper remake of this fantastic game.
