Re: Soapbox: Nintendo's Game Awards No-Show Proves It Simply Doesn't Need Anyone Else

The Game Awards is more like a 2-hour long advertisement these days. Outside the main "award" and a few musical performances, there isn't much reason to stick to the whole thing waiting for fresh announcements (unlike your usual E3 presentation). There's too much noise and irrelevant stuff dragging the viewer's attention, which makes it harder to set the right mood for something special. A Direct is the right place for Switch-related news.

Re: Video: Everyone Should Play Sin & Punishment

@Hinade Problem is, it affects all games, not only Sin & Punishment. And you gotta keep changing back and forth whenever you want to play. It works but it's far from being the ideal solution, on top of paying for an overpriced expansion pass.

Re: Soapbox: Can We Please Retire The Phrase 'Lazy Devs' Already?

No, we can't. When you have enough money and a big enough team, neglecting better design choices is not a good thing. We want games to get better after each sequel, removing features that were clearly a step forward and oversimplifying things without a good reason won't cause anything but complaints.

Don't forget those products cost money.

@Nintendo_Thumb It would be fine if those games were a) performing well and b) available for purchase separately. There's no scenario where one person would walk away and stay cool with a $50/year subscription service failing to deliver the bare minimum of what you should expect from a paid emulator (specially considering free alternatives exist). What's wrong with asking them to fix a flawed product?
