This is a disaster. I haven't been disappointed like that since Super Mario Bros 35th anniversary. 50 bucks to own a decent version of a long awaited Sonic collection is insane. Not even Mega Man Zero games costed us that much.

@Don They did that to celebrate Pokémon's 20th anniversary, and clearly stated that wasn't the norm, remakes were their priority instead of ports. No GBA mainline Pokémon ever hit the Wii U store. I find it very unlikely to have those games re-released for Switch Online, but I hope I'm wrong.

@Link-Hero Visual consistency for the most part. Character sprites are blurry, fonts don't fit the game's UI neither its "retro" look, certain animations aren't as smooth, pixel scaling don't match the menus and backgrounds. It's serviceable if you don't care about these details and just want a cheap nostalgia trip, but the game lost so much charm in the transition that it doesn't feel/play the same.

Difficulty and accessibility are completely different things. Having an easy mode doesn't make the game more accessible to anyone, it just makes things less demanding to master/complete. You can have extremely difficult one-button or two-button games that can be enjoyed by pretty much anyone at any age range, regardless of physical or mental limitations. Older NES games are great examples. Getting frustrated because you can't reach the credits screen has nothing to do with a game having accessibility options or not.

You're not missing much, this version is vastly inferior to the SNES original.

The first game and Match of the Millennium are among the best pocket games ever made. They have aged very, very well.

It's not worth owning a 3DS without hacking it. And by hacking it, you essentially get access to all regions' games.

The font sucks, like their worst "HD" font so far.

Virtual Console. Unless you "hack" your Wii U, there is no official way to play Metroid Prime Trilogy or rare, expensive games such as Xenoblade or Pandora's Tower.

@HolyGeez03 That makes $50/year for Switch Online, you can't simply purchase the $30 expansion if you want the DLCs.

XBox Game Pass has over 100 games in the catalog, half of them being quality, full $60 games.

There is a huge gap between both services here.

You need to spend $120 to enjoy the "free" DLCs bundled with the $30 expansion pass. That's not even comparable to getting 2-3 full games each month.

That was expected, this game never looked like it could stand out among dozens of great shmups that released in the past 30 years or so. $40 for what? A bunch of ugly pixels and a barebones presentation?

Koei Tecmo. Just look at the Ninja Gaiden Master Collection mess that was never patched.

Simply put, it's unplayable without any mods or patches. "Grindy" is a compliment for this game.

It's incredible how unbalanced and grindy this game is, even for 1990s standards. It's a shame since there is so much good stuff in the late game sections.

Will probably become another Witcher clone or a MOBA in next installments.
