I'm a big fan of his work but not fond of his persona. I'd buy if it was about Platinum Games, but his ego might be big enough to not credit anyone who worked hard in those projects. That's not a book I'd like to have in my shelf.
Hopefully no more questionable design choices in the next entries. Sticker Star annoyed me the most back then. Federation Force, Color Splash, Prime 3, so many games with lots of potential being dragged down by his corporate persona trying to sanitize and trivialize as much as possible.
@rvcolem1 That's what I love about the series, it's very challeging if you're trying to get the best times, items etc. So much replayability layers in that. The first two games are quite hard but gets more accessible after 3 (the Wii U original was much harder than Deluxe, though).
@EriXz I don't want to be disrespectful or anything, but human resources aren't machines. A lot of people are seeking professional help (and that ratio greatly increased over the years) because our current model is unsustainable, exhausting, stressful, . They're being replaced by cheaper AI alternatives to maximize profits for CEOs, not because "some people brought that to themselves".
Skipping work for no reason is likely the first sign of precarized conditions.
@JumpingJackson That's already the title for Crisis Core remake, which is canonically part of FFVII:Remake universe. I don't think they would repeat it.
This game is a masterclass under several aspects, sound design included. It's sad when you think about all the missed opportunities in games with a much larger budget.
Direction and cast were pretty mediocre besides Jack Black as Bowser, what are you expecting to improve? Illumination was producing it the last time I checked.
You can heal 3 HP mid-air, equip rechargeable tools that can deal a lot of damage, have extremely high mobility, double jumps, parries, dash, backstep, multiple crest types that changes your moveset, HP extension items etc etc... but people just refuse to experiment with the tools you're given.
The game is a lot harder than the first entry (except its DLCs, for now), but you character is also much better balanced for the enemies and platforming around you.
I couldn't force myself to finish it. Poor graphics, bad performance, gimmicky gameplay filled with intrusive minigames, you barely spend enough time with a character you like actually fighting enemies, racking up combos etc. It's a perfect example of a bloated game just for the sake of it.
Indie games used to be about independent development. Pricing was never the first thing to worry about. Of course indie "companies" are going to complain.
Nothing special about it, and the fact LRG hurt the release window, there is no excuse to give them any money right now. A 50% off sale is what I'm going to wait for.
Hopefully they won't apply so many restrictions to map/navigation/fast travel this time. The first one was fantastic but not many people were able to complete it due to having an extremely obtuse level design.

Re: Poll: So, Do You Prefer Hollow Knight Or Silksong?
Silksong is the better game, Hollow Knight has a better atmosphere. That's it for me.
Re: Review: Mario Tennis Fever (Switch 2) - Slim For Singles, But An Addictive Core Gives It Online Legs
My only reason to get this game is gone (campaign). Hopefully everyone will enjoy its multiplayer matches.
Re: Video: Pragmata Demo Side-By-Side Graphics Comparison (Switch 2, Xbox Series S, PS5)
PS5 is the way to go. The game looks pretty bad on handheld mode, much worse than the XBox Series S.
Re: Two Big Cross Platform Switch 2 Games Might Have Leaked Ahead Of Today's Direct
There is no way those games aren't going to be game-key cards. Physical is dead on XBox already.

Re: Pokémon TCG Pocket's Next Expansion Looks Truly Fantastical
Putting Megas in this game was a big mistake.
Re: Prince Of Persia Team Behind Cancelled Sands Of Time Remake Shares Final Message
Just remaster the original and call it a day.
Good riddance, anyway.
Re: Nintendo Producer Kensuke Tanabe Has Seemingly Confirmed His Retirement
Hopefully no more questionable design choices in the next entries. Sticker Star annoyed me the most back then. Federation Force, Color Splash, Prime 3, so many games with lots of potential being dragged down by his corporate persona trying to sanitize and trivialize as much as possible.
That said, I wish him the best.
Re: Donkey Kong Country Returns HD Gets A Free Switch 2 Update And Adds Dixie Kong
@batmanbud2 I'm glad she's there. The game is now perfect gameplay-wise.
Re: Review: Fire Emblem: Path Of Radiance (GameCube) - Aged & Easier Than You're Used To, But Still A Winner
Back when the series had good writing, gameplay and some "soul" in it. GBA games were the peak.
Re: Poll: So, Now The Dust Has Settled, How Did You Find Myles MacKenzie?
Sol Valley is the worst offender here, the game woul'dve been much better without that empty area.
Just replace Kensuke Tanabe for once.
Re: A Pokémon-Inspired RPG More Than 20 Years In The Making Is Finally Heading To The Switch
So glad this is a japanese game. I'll probably get it day one.

Re: Pikmin 3 Deluxe Nintendo Switch 2 Rating Pops Up Online
Please add more save slots. The best Pikmin game ever made! I'd be so happy if this ends up being true.
Re: Nintendo Suggests Metroid Prime 4's Tortured Development Meant It Was "Divorced From The Changing Of Times"
I've said it many times: Tanabe is the problem.

Re: Kirby Air Riders Dev Team Disbanding Soon, Game Updates Also Ending
Best Switch 2 game (and one of 2025 best games), but ended up this way. F* this industry.

Fifth Charizard EX, here we go.

@Zeeba Air Riders was a nice surprise.
Re: Mini Review: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - Now A Legit Contender For Mario's Karting Crown
SEGA's take on upgrades is a nasty move to say the least, just like Square Enix's.
Re: PSA: Copy Your Save In Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Before You Enter The Endgame
This game truly feels like a 2008 release.
Re: Review: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition (Switch 2) - Samus Returns In Prime Form
Turning down all the chat and subtitles here as soon as my copy arrives.
Re: "Consumers Generally Do Not Care" About AI In Games, Says Former Square Enix Exec
Just release an AI-powered game and see what happens. Wasn't Front Mission 3 a complete disaster already?
Re: Mini Review: Arcade Archives 2 TOKYO WARS (Switch 2) - Another Polished But Wafer Thin Hamster Port
It's very expensive for what it is and I think I'm done with System 22 games up to this point.
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Kirby Air Riders
Remember that Death Stranding also got tons of bad reviews for being just that, not for everyone. I'm happy they're still making such games.
Re: Pokémon Pokopia Is Nintendo's First Game-Key Card Release
That will surely hurt the sales.
Re: Poll: What Do You Make Of The Mario Galaxy Movie's Leaked Yoshi Design?
A shame they won't change the voice actors.

Re: Review: Yooka-Replaylee (Switch 2) - Feels Like The Game It Was Meant To Be, Finally
There we go, another game put on hold until patches sort out bugs and performance.
Re: Retro Zelda-Inspired Adventure 'Mina The Hollower' Has Been Delayed For Switch 2 And Switch
At least that should come out before the Katana Zero DLC that was supposed to complete the game, so...
Re: 'Scurge: Hive' Spreads Its Isometric, Metroid-y Retro Virus To Switch This Week
The isometric movement kinda killed it for me back when a d-pad was the only option, but hopefully we should be able to use the analog sticks.
Re: More Switch Games Get Switch 2 Compatibility Fixes
Ninja Five O, Felix the Cat and Rocket Knight Adventures remain broken IIRC. Limited Run trash, yes, but still not compatible.

It should get worse from here.

It's barely a month old and they're already adding DLCs.

Re: Rumour: New Zelda LEGO Set Rumour Links It To Fan Favourite Entry
Just got the Deku Tree a week ago, fantastic set and goes well with my Rivendell diorama.

The first two were perfection.
Re: Nintendo Is "Acting To Protect The Industry" With Switch 2 Game Key Cards, Says Ex-Capcom Composer
So, tell me, how many digital Wii, DS, Wii U and 3DS games you still have access to purchase and play?
That's the point.
Re: Poll: Three Months In, How Would You Rate Switch 2's Library So Far?
I have like 3 exclusive games and there's not much to look for.

Re: First Footage Of Elden Ring Running On Switch 2 Appears Online
Why is it so hard to properly optimize games? There should be a performance mode.
Re: Donkey Kong Bananza's Dig Button Placement Is All Thanks To Miyamoto
I still prefer the B for jumping but that makes a lot of sense.
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting The Switch 2's Next Exclusive 'Drag x Drive'?
The kind of game that should either have been free to play or bundled with another game/system. It won't sell.
