@JumpingJackson That's already the title for Crisis Core remake, which is canonically part of FFVII:Remake universe. I don't think they would repeat it.
This game is a masterclass under several aspects, sound design included. It's sad when you think about all the missed opportunities in games with a much larger budget.
Direction and cast were pretty mediocre besides Jack Black as Bowser, what are you expecting to improve? Illumination was producing it the last time I checked.
You can heal 3 HP mid-air, equip rechargeable tools that can deal a lot of damage, have extremely high mobility, double jumps, parries, dash, backstep, multiple crest types that changes your moveset, HP extension items etc etc... but people just refuse to experiment with the tools you're given.
The game is a lot harder than the first entry (except its DLCs, for now), but you character is also much better balanced for the enemies and platforming around you.
I couldn't force myself to finish it. Poor graphics, bad performance, gimmicky gameplay filled with intrusive minigames, you barely spend enough time with a character you like actually fighting enemies, racking up combos etc. It's a perfect example of a bloated game just for the sake of it.
Indie games used to be about independent development. Pricing was never the first thing to worry about. Of course indie "companies" are going to complain.
Nothing special about it, and the fact LRG hurt the release window, there is no excuse to give them any money right now. A 50% off sale is what I'm going to wait for.
Hopefully they won't apply so many restrictions to map/navigation/fast travel this time. The first one was fantastic but not many people were able to complete it due to having an extremely obtuse level design.
Just handle this IP to a proper japanese developer and you'll get a good game for once. Even the worst Square Enix product is still better crafted (and feels more like a Lord of the Rings entry) than this.
The best manufacturer right there. I have one of their cases for the Steam Deck and it's a beast, very good build quality and materials. Just ordered a matcha green for my Switch 2.
@Ultimapunch It was acceptable in 1998 when no one ever crafted a game like that, it's a very different situation in 2025 because any other system can deliver (and Astrobot actually delivered) more.
@Debo626 Those controllers came with the option to use a rechargeable battery pack (USB), being easily replaced a couple years later if needed. Having the OPTION to use AAs simply warrant you decades of lifetime for an electronic - which companies don't want for obvious reasons.
Talk about the environment when you have to discard a controller and buy a new one because it's nearly un-repairable...
At this point, every controller should be fine with 2x or 4x AAs, they just don't care and want you to buy a second one once it fails. Not going to defend XBox (which is far from having an ergonomic controller), but they got that part right ages ago.
They have been releasing mediocre to plain bad games for quite some time now, so it's probably gone for good. I feel bad for everyone who lost their jobs and worked so hard on this project.
Get the ROM file if you can't wait that long, don't support those FOMO practices LRG keeps promoting. It was deliberately delayed to not hurt the repurposed physical cart (GBA) sales.
Typical defensive stance taken by managers or even CEOs. It's funny how these companies treat customers, like they were entirely disposable for their own survival as a business.
Honestly, I prefer it this way. The "everyone is here" trend just got tiresome over time, and having some cohesive cast (just like in Double Dash days) feels like a plus.
That game was a hallmark of inventive tech used in a simple way. I wish we've got a re-release on modern devices that used the brightness sensor or front cameras somehow. It works pretty well on emulators.
For Splatoon 3, I barely played any multiplayer matches. My focus was solely on its (incredible) single player campaign and the DLC. Octo Expansion was among my favorite Switch experiences back in 2018, although I had much more fun with 2's matches, splatfests and salmon runs than any other multiplayer in recent memory.

Turning down all the chat and subtitles here as soon as my copy arrives.
Re: "Consumers Generally Do Not Care" About AI In Games, Says Former Square Enix Exec
Just release an AI-powered game and see what happens. Wasn't Front Mission 3 a complete disaster already?
Re: Mini Review: Arcade Archives 2 TOKYO WARS (Switch 2) - Another Polished But Wafer Thin Hamster Port
It's very expensive for what it is and I think I'm done with System 22 games up to this point.
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Kirby Air Riders
Remember that Death Stranding also got tons of bad reviews for being just that, not for everyone. I'm happy they're still making such games.
Re: Pokémon Pokopia Is Nintendo's First Game-Key Card Release
That will surely hurt the sales.
Re: Poll: What Do You Make Of The Mario Galaxy Movie's Leaked Yoshi Design?
A shame they won't change the voice actors.

There we go, another game put on hold until patches sort out bugs and performance.
Re: Retro Zelda-Inspired Adventure 'Mina The Hollower' Has Been Delayed For Switch 2 And Switch
At least that should come out before the Katana Zero DLC that was supposed to complete the game, so...
Re: 'Scurge: Hive' Spreads Its Isometric, Metroid-y Retro Virus To Switch This Week
The isometric movement kinda killed it for me back when a d-pad was the only option, but hopefully we should be able to use the analog sticks.
Re: More Switch Games Get Switch 2 Compatibility Fixes
Ninja Five O, Felix the Cat and Rocket Knight Adventures remain broken IIRC. Limited Run trash, yes, but still not compatible.

The first two were perfection.

That's the point.

I still prefer the B for jumping but that makes a lot of sense.
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting The Switch 2's Next Exclusive 'Drag x Drive'?
The kind of game that should either have been free to play or bundled with another game/system. It won't sell.

You can't have fun and smooth "playability" without stable performance. It's exactly what you should prioritize when graphics aren't the focus.

If the trade-off is quality (WotL on phones wasn't exactly the best port we've got), that's fair.

For a $500 hardware, that option shouldn't come as part of a subscription plan (+$50 for the camera) at all.
Re: Hideki Kamiya Intended To Continue Bayonetta With Another Trilogy
Third game was a huge disappointment. I'd rather be done with what we've got.
