I will never understand the overabundance of JRPGs. There's literally 15+ different Atelier games on the Switch already, none of which has entered the Top 30 on the eShop. How is this profitable?
Yes. I would buy a digital only console. I prefer less physical clutter and usually regret selling off my games. I just finalized my 3DS library prior to the eShop closure. I think an optional cartridge reader add-on would be agreeable.
@jamesthemagi Haha yeah. Switch 2 is guaranteed not to sell as well as Switch 1, but hopefully it can get to 100M. The Switch generation has been great thankfully, so we can rest easy about sales numbers.
It would be nice to see Switch reach 155+ million but that doesn't matter if the Switch 2 can barely sell half. DS to 3DS feels like the best example: 154M to 76M. The Switch 2 needs to be a success also.
@nocdaes I completely agree. I gave up on Retro Studios. They've been pathetic lately. It's about to be a decade since Tropical Freeze and they couldn't have the foresight to remaster Prime Trilogy instead of just 1.
Maybe a dumb question: What has Nintendo done for Microsoft? Marketing/Royalties? We say that Microsoft and Nintendo have a good relationship so I'm trying to understand.

Re: Review: Assassin's Creed Shadows (Switch 2) - An Ambitious Port Of A Captivating Series Refresh
Why does the eshop page say "Internet Required"? I know it's not a cloud version, but I'm still kind of turned off by this

Re: Another New Atelier RPG Is Heading To Switch Next Year
@HeadPirate
Thanks for the added context. The pace of Atelier releases is pretty insane and I was questioning how many people actually buy them.

Re: Luigi's Mansion 2 HD Developer Has Been Revealed
Ideally Next Level is developing something outside of the Mario universe!
Re: Poll: Luigi's Mansion 2 HD Is Out This Week, Will You Be Getting It?
I know this is an unpopular release, but it pleases my OCD to have Luigi's Mansion 2+3 and Splatoon 2+3 grouped together in my Switch collection.
Re: Nintendo And Illumination Announce New Mario Bros. Animated Movie
Feels way too early to give a release date, but I'm looking for to it.

They'd better start Pikmin 5!

Supposedly Another Crab's Treasure and Penny's Big Breakaway are Q1 2024. South Park Snow Day is a high profile release too.
Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Sora amiibo Locks In February 2024 Release Date

Re: Nintendo Announces Indie World Showcase For Tomorrow, November 14th
@ElRoberico Agreed. I don't expect updates from games we already know about. That's just how it goes.
Re: Nintendo Announces Indie World Showcase For Tomorrow, November 14th
They only announce new games and don't confirm release dates.

I personally wanted an Inkling holding a slosher or roller.
Re: Talking Point: Would You Buy A Digital-Only 'Switch 2'?
Yes. I would buy a digital only console. I prefer less physical clutter and usually regret selling off my games. I just finalized my 3DS library prior to the eShop closure. I think an optional cartridge reader add-on would be agreeable.
Re: Batman Arkham Trilogy For Switch Has Been Delayed Until December
I'm hoping Hogwarts Legacy still makes it next month. No new trailer is concerning though.
Re: Luigi's Mansion 2 HD Gets Spooky On Switch Next Summer

-Mario RPG
-Paper Mario TTYD
-Luigis Mansion 2
-Mario vs Donkey Kong
Re: Nintendo Might Be Updating Its Smash Bros. amiibo Packaging
I'm surprised this wasn't done as soon as Smash Ultimate released.

Re: Poll: Are You Excited About Ubisoft's Metroidvania "Inspired" Prince Of Persia Platformer?

Re: Poll: Will There Be A June 2023 Nintendo Direct?
Nintendo wasn't planning on attending E3 anyway, so no. We'll get twitter drops for the summer which is fine.
Re: Dillon's Rolling Western & Kirby Co-Developer Vanpool Shuts Down
That's a shame. I'm starting to think Arzest might be the next casualty.
Re: Marvel's Midnight Suns On Switch "No Longer Planned"
I'm not very interested in the relationship-building between battles.
Re: Poll: One Year On, What Other Events Should Be Added To Nintendo Switch Sports?
The game is underwhelming but it will sell more than all of the Mario Sports games combined. I wish they would retire them to be honest.
Re: More Donkey Kong Figures Teased For LEGO Super Mario
I believe we will finally get a new Donkey Kong game in the next 12 months. I has to launch before the 2024 theme park in Japan.

Ah yes, the Wii U direct that announced games 3+ years in advance: Xenoblade X, TMS#FE, and Breath of the Wild.
Re: Talking Point: In 2023, Do You Still Care About amiibo?
I'm only collecting one amiibo per Nintendo series that I like (5), so I would say it's complete.
Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch Ports We'd Love To See In 2023
Kid Icarus Uprising, Solar Ash, Scarlet Nexus/Code Vein, maybe.
