Looks crazy but a good exposure for Splatoon. I don't think Nintendo need to worry or be aggresive about these mods, after all, they only serve as a crappy Splatoon.
Well, they either going all out for NX, or have a half-hearted launch. Whatever Nintendo choose to do, they are in difficult position. In fact, while Iwata reasoning to reveal NX is to convince people that they kept their dedicated hardware business, I think they definitely should keep quite for the whole 2015, it's too early to talk about.
I don't really care of their mobile output. If I want to be harsh, I'm hoping they will fail. Not total flop, that'll hurt the company, but at least not profitable to them (just make even). That will shut all opinion of people want Nintendo to go third party.
So many fan service! Sprite animation at its finest! I haven't finished the first game yet, just playing first few stage (and unfortunately, getting bored). However, I'm going to give the sequel a fair chance... heck, I might throw money just for Phoenix Wright and Maya! That said, hopefully I got around the first game before this released.
Would be awesome if this game could do a 180 degrees turn-around after poor initial reception. Who knows, with Next Level talent, this might just happen.
Nice result for Fire Emblem! 2016 is still so far away... hope the special edition comes here too, will be the version I'll get. Also nice to see Splatoon doing well, and nice Wii U hold from Splatoon.
A Zelda maker with style from the first NES game, ALTP, Minish Cap and ALBW will be pretty awesome if you ask me. But yeah, a Zelda maker will require more dedication, so won't be that much fun compared to making short burst of Mario level. I don't see anyone asking for Zelda maker though.
Great to see Yoshi Woolly World doing well. Splatoon holding in the charts, but honestly was expecting it a bit higher, hopefully it has decent legs for months.
Oh, I don't know this guy... granted, I only watched mostly Gaki no Tsukai and Downtown show, but sometime other comedian will show up, never seen this guy though. That said, I'm happy this game got some commercial and I hope it did well.
I always adore Level 5 games. Shame about Fantasy Life 2, though to be fair, that game doesn't look like a real sequel, so I don't think we'll miss much. Unfortunately, that also means no real Fantasy Life sequel for us and as a fan of it (and want to see it evolve as a franchise), I'm really disappointed with their decision.
However, the Yo-kai Watch looks pretty awesome and I'm glad it's coming here. I can't wait to get my hands on it. Hopefully, that will be a success and will assure Level 5 and Nintendo to bring us the sequel, also hope Level 5 keep supporting Nintendo hardware!
I would really looking forward to the single player mode. Not really interested in online, but might give it a try. ALBW engine is beautiful, happy to see them re-used.
Well, they definitely have multiple Wii U games in development, but I think they were holding back to assess Wii U sales situation. Those games might come to Wii U in the first place, but will go to NX instead if sales keep missing target. They are in difficult position, either keep supporting Wii U with small userbase or try to hit it big for NX. They could also, try to be cross-gen like this gen early games, so game will come to Wii U and NX simultaneously.
Regarding price cut, I agree but somewhere I read that Nintendo haven't sold all of their first batch inventory yet. Considering they have 9 millions or so target in the first year, it's natural to think they might over-produce and remember that Wii U was sold at loss at start. If they haven't cleared their first year inventory, they won't benefit from reduction production cost to warrant a price cut.
Eh, Metroid Prime Federation Force looks like a decent game, I can't see it being a huge success but would fill the gap for 3DS lack of FPS. I have faith for Next Level Games, they have talent and hopefully people will give this title a second chance/look.
Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival in the other hand though... but at least it is a free game as far as I know, so in the end, not that bad either. Just hope their next direct will show us something good.
Well, I think their Wii U idea is to push asymmetric gameplay, hence the name Wii and U. Might be a mistake of their part as that didn't take off and left with an odd name. Now Nintendo have this gamepad that is pricey, but possibly couldn't get rid for the NX if they want to keep backward compatibility. Maybe they will start fresh with NX, I hope they will.
The NWC is the highlight for me, especially the Super Mario Maker finale. Many surprises in the level, accompanied by talented player is the best way to show what Super Mario Maker is about. The show could turn bad if the final player wasn't good, but it turned out well with all levels cleared. Definitely amazing.
The Digital Events isn't bad, it's entertaining but didn't please their fans. Treehouse segment is cool, but watching the whole thing is impossible. I catched some segment later and it's pretty good I must say. I particularly enjoyed the SMT x FE (whatever the actual title is), Fatal Frame and yes, Metroid Prime: Federation Force.
Smash bros direct is pretty good too, but I'm done with the game so I don't really care, and it was killed by leaks in the last 2 days.
Finally, Reggie damage control is too arrogant. I liked Iwata and other Nintendo executive's lower profile better. I wanted to like Reggie, but his statement often just put me off, not only this time but many other times too.
Overall that's my impression of the whole E3. Nintendo start strong, goes downhill with the DE, but Treehouse segment recover it a bit. Now, just waiting for game releases and there's plenty to look forward.
I think VR is cool, but I don't think it will take off either. Sony has mounted display thing for a long time, so it's natural that they will push it on PS4. I personally think it will end up like PS Move, it's great and work well but just didn't sell that well in the long run. Hololens is really cool too, but I can't see how it could be properly used in gaming (Minecraft demo is nice, but forgetable once you see it), I think it will end up like Kinect. At the end of the day, I guess VR won't be a massive seller, it won't be Virtual Boy, but it'll be niche.
The muppets segment is awesome! Nintendo presentation in Digital Events is fine, but the games they are showing is questionable. They need to improve that next year, but with Zelda confirmed, surely next year will be better.
Yep, even as an exclusive 3DS owner, there is plenty of games that I'm looking at. There won't be drought for me so that's good. Still disappointed that there's no strong title at E3.
They should definitely show Zelda, it's to convice fans that they'll come, otherwise, how could you please fans? As has been reiterated many times, this policy didn't stop them from showing future games before, why should now? I guess I started to agree with those said that they hold off because they want to put it on NX. After all, with NX stealing the show next year, this will be Wii U final year to getting spotlight at E3.
I thought Yokai Watch will have better reception judging from how popular it is in Japan. I guess it's outshadowed by all this Metroid Prime fiasco, or that you guys wanted the sequel? Cmon, Level 5 games is fun.
I feel sorry for Next Level Games, I hope they don't feel discouraged by this. My thought is, the game looks fun but multiplayer focus is a little worrying, I hope they have decent single player campaign as well.
Let's get over this. Asking the game to be cancelled is stupid beyond reason. We know next to nothing about this game. What if they blown you away in their next direct as they show more details? Yeah, that could happen, they did this multiple times already. Let's not give up hope, it could be a faithful spin-off to the Metroid Prime universe.
I think the bigger insult is Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival, that just... uh... I thought Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer is already bad, but this is just worse.
Maybe their biggest mistake is to focus on game coming out later this year and early 2016. They should keep building hype for upcoming game in development. See, year before they show Xenoblade Chronicle X, SMT x FE then last year showing Zelda Wii U. Even though we know the game is still far away, it will please the fan base. For instance, a new Zelda trailer will help cure the heart of many...
After watching the Treehouse presentation, the gameplay looks solid. It wasn't all that bad all thing considered, but what they showed us is still very little. Who knows, this could be big? Comes next direct, when they showed us more gameplay, background and the story, this could ended up pretty decent. I think this is the game that is set to be the "Splatoon" of this year E3, but they failed for one reason and that's because of the Metroid name slapped on it.
You know, Nintendo has proven us wrong before. Back in the day, Super Mario 3D World at E3 also got negative fan reaction because fan is expecting open 3D Mario, but look at how it ended up? Splatoon was a new IP in last year E3, people reaction is positive but many downplayed it being a new IP and all, now it's holding up pretty well in sales. With this Metroid spin-off, I think it's best to wait until we give judgement, I just want to say to not write it off yet. This could be a fun game and that's all that matters.
But yeah, I understand fan frustation because this game basically means main Metroid game is not in works, or at least, not in the near future until this game launched.
They should move some announcement around, I think they were too focused on core franchise (or spin-off of the core) on the Digital Events, that some obscure title didn't get any spotlight or was moved out of the way to the micro direct before E3. For instance, Chibi Robo and Bravely Second would please fans if announced on the Digital Event, while Metroid Prime FF and Animal Crossing spin-off can be on micro direct as a surprise announcement. Some trailers after the event, like Fatal Frame and FAST Racing Neo, should also be included in the Digital Events instead. Also the awkward exchange between Reggie and Skylanders guy is also... meh.
But, well, I can understand why they want to highlight their core franchise title, though it feels like a slap in the face to the fan base as they announce a spin-off instead of full blown game fans has asked for years. Also, Zelda U delay is also possibly what screwed Nintendo E3 plan. Not to mention leaks... they need to do better to manage that. And last thing, this year E3 might be the last year Wii U get a spotlight, as NX will steal the show next year, so it's a shame if it's ended that way. Zelda U is probably the only megaton Nintendo had for Wii U next year E3.
Okay, rant over. I still have a lot of game to look forward to. Maybe Iwata will listen to us and next year will be better.
I think it's cool. It could be a more premium Amiibo, and definitely what Nintendo should do. They need to get around the shortage situation, but new Amiibo development should continue.
Got Dream Team, yay! Too bad no Majora Mask, my physical copy of the game is broken so I consider getting the digital version, but I'm waiting for discount. Well, it just released a few months ago, so just wishful thinking of mine...
By the way, why is this a surprise? I thought it was expected. Last year they did this discount too.
Looks pretty good. I glad they reuse ALBW engine, as I really love to see more of it. Although, I'll prefer if they have direct sequel to ALBW, but I'll take this!
Hmm.. Might be better than expected if Next Level is developing it. I hope it has a good single player campaign, then I might consider it. The NWC moment of Blast Ball is pretty cool, it had some boring moment (as with any soccer match btw) but the last second goal is awesome.
I would say I was disappointed. Judging from how they spread announcement with near E3 micro direct, Smash direct and some NWC announcement, that suggests that they have plenty of stuff for E3 digital event, but damn... expectation shattered.
To be fair though, this Nintendo E3 reaction could be better if we have no leaks. The HW 3DS and Smash leaks is an utter let down, that bring the surprise down, while that could gain good reaction from fans.
As for my reaction on the whole events:
Starfox looks awesome, although being an on-rail shooter, it could be pretty short of content. At least that's what I experienced when playing Starfox 64. I hope they improved this time, especially since Kid Icarus Uprising set a really high standard for the amount of content (yes, KIA also have land combat, but the on-rail shooter segment is more than Starfox 64).
Mario Maker presentation is pretty cool, especially when they showed us how they make stages many years ago. Also love how they use Amiibo for Mario costume, and how they presented the next game using that character 8-bit sprite.
New Zelda! A little let down as it's a spiritual sucessor of Four Sword Adventure, but I love everything about ALBW, so it's a game I know I'll get. Good to know it can be played single player too.
Hyrule Warriors Legend, good to see it confirmed. I would be more excited if not for the leaks.
Yoshi Wolly World, we have seen plenty of it already in last year E3. So... well, it's good I guess to see female dev got some spotlight.
Fire Emblem Fates, the english trailer looks good! The dub is awesome, the song in English is something I'm not expecting. No details though, but it's expected as it's 2016 game.
FE x SMT, still no details apart of updated trailer. The character model is a bit meh though. Otherwise, looks pretty good.
Metroid? A spin-off nobody asked for... Although, I enjoyed Blast Ball segment at NWC, so could be fun. I just don't see why they slap Metroid name in it.
Animal Crossing? Again another spin-off nobody expected it to be.
Mario and Luigi Paper Jam looks great. I haven't played the Dream Team, but as it was on discount, I'll pick it up. Whether I'll get this or not will depend to my experience with Dream Team.
Good to see release date of Xenoblade Chronicle X.
Mario Tennis Wii U, looks good but not excited.
They have plenty of an exciting moment, but then was let down a few second later. The puppet show is pretty awesome, but Miyamoto puppet looks a little creepy to me.
Honestly, I dissapointed because of high expectation, but not really bad E3 if we consider every show Nintendo had here. NWC is awesome! I'll be hoping for some more announcement during Treehouse Live.
The Mario Maker part is definitely the highlight for me, both players were really good too so it helps showcase Mario Maker. John Numbers have the upper hand though and he really deserved to win. Awesome show, Nintendo should do this every year.

I don't think that'll happen. Too soon, too rushed and litterally middle finger to Wii U user.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Nintendo's E3 Digital Event?
I would say I was disappointed. Judging from how they spread announcement with near E3 micro direct, Smash direct and some NWC announcement, that suggests that they have plenty of stuff for E3 digital event, but damn... expectation shattered.
To be fair though, this Nintendo E3 reaction could be better if we have no leaks. The HW 3DS and Smash leaks is an utter let down, that bring the surprise down, while that could gain good reaction from fans.
As for my reaction on the whole events:
They have plenty of an exciting moment, but then was let down a few second later. The puppet show is pretty awesome, but Miyamoto puppet looks a little creepy to me.
Honestly, I dissapointed because of high expectation, but not really bad E3 if we consider every show Nintendo had here. NWC is awesome! I'll be hoping for some more announcement during Treehouse Live.
Re: Video: These Nintendo World Championships and Super Mario Maker Highlights Should Get You Warmed Up
The Mario Maker part is definitely the highlight for me, both players were really good too so it helps showcase Mario Maker. John Numbers have the upper hand though and he really deserved to win. Awesome show, Nintendo should do this every year.
