I have the coin block one, it has the iconic coin sound when pressed. Pretty cool for a happy meal toys, though the battery is dead now. Since happy meal is for kids, it took a little courage when a grown man order one.
I'm not a figure collector though, but some Figma and Nendoroid had me on the edge a lot of time. Some Amiibo too, but I wish they had a better paint job.
Animal Crossing is killing it, even the old game is still on chart. I thought AC:HHD is a bad idea, but Nintendo clearly know their market better than anyone. Congrats Animal Crossing! Now it will be interesting to see how Amiibo Festival will do, though we might never know as it's a free to play game.
Splatoon is still strong, wonder if next week will see a boost with the big update. Wii U looks to have a >10k baseline now, which is a good thing.
Hope Fire Emblem could stay on the chart for a long time too.
Sony hardware sells really good lately, especially PS4, though the software sales seems to be more spread out, while Wii U is more concentrated. 3DS is still killing it, and AC:HHD result this week will be pretty crazy too it seems.
Surprised to see Boxboy actually have physical release there.
That's really bad. Not sure how much is truth (there's always two side of every story, objectively speaking), but seeing the company output and continued report of problem with Hideo Kojima team, things must be really harsh over there. I hope things could improve, if not, then I hope the talents over there could form a new company or at least, join a better company.
Good for Nintendo. But I genuinely doubt their smartphone game will be a success, it's not like they are making the next Pokemon, Mario or Animal Crossing on smartphone. Probably just a spin-off or just a small experience from a full game (like the barrel flying section on DKC, which will work very well on touchscreen). When that happens, I'm not sure how the investor will react.
Decent result, I guess... It looks like Nintendo yearly result will depend solely on Super Mario Maker, sure Starfox, Mario Tennis and Splatoon will help, along with some 3DS releases (no heavy hitter from Nintendo like Pokemon main series on 3DS this year, most is spin-off), so it seems a huge of the burden is on SMM to carry. Hopefully it'll do well.
Another million seller for 3DS in Japan alone! Congrats to Yokai Watch Buster. Monster Hunter X will be the next, and then Yokai Watch 3, then maybe a new Pokemon before 3DS ended its lifespan. Worldwide, Fire Emblem Fates should be a million seller, Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer seems to be another potential too. Then there is Bravely Second that could go close to a million. Then there's two Dragon Quest title incoming. Good times for 3DS.
Also glad to see Splatoon is still strong. Hope Wii U could keep the five figures, maybe next week Splatoon update could keep it in that number. Not sure how incoming Devil Third will affect Wii U though, hopefully a small boost too.
I don't know why people think VR can be big, it won't and will only exists as niche product. I think it'll go where 3D TV is, maybe a bit better with game company support, but it won't go mainstream. It's existence on the market will be Kinect/Move level at best. Nintendo will be too stupid to pursue this path, so it won't happen, and it's also too expensive for Nintendo.
Looks decent. Still haven't got myself a New 3DS, but XC3D is tempting and if more indie exclusives like these were coming (I guess it would with Unity support), it could justify a purchase.
Umm... No. That Charmander looks like a clay doll walking around realistic environment, which is as lifeless as it could get. A full 3D Pokemon game will be pretty awesome, though surely in cartoony world instead of realistic. The fire effect is also pretty bad, Charmander tail is lit all the time, while the demo there showing fire effect tailing her instead. And the flamethrower is... well, not a flamethrower at all. Not impressed.
I don't think Yoshi is that big, so it looks like it does reasonably well. It should have some legs and would easily move past 100k, hopefully. Splatoon legs (or tentacles) is really good, it'll probably stay in the charts for a long time. Wii U is still in 5 figures, hopefully it'll stay like that, though it's probably return to 4 figures next week or the week after that, until Super Mario Maker.
Well, if you consider the game is in Metroid Prime universe, obviously the main character of the series will make a cameo, it's bound to happen. The question is of course, whether the role she played in the game is significant or just as some easter eggs.
Regardless, I hope the game reception can turn around a bit once new information is revealed.
Nah, 3DS XL is already uncomfortable enough to play in the long run, this looks even more terrible. The stereo camera is also in weird position, that will require the phone to be held vertically, while the game button is on the side, which means the stereo camera can't be used with game/AR where the phone need to be held horizontally.
Something with clamshell or slider form factor is preferable if Nintendo want to make a phone.
So it seems Shadow Wars is widely recommended, I guess I'll pick that one up. Any other 3DS recommendation? I don't have any of these games yet. I'm considering the other Tom Clancy and either Rayman, but still not sure.
Good news! South East Asia is rarely known in game development scene, so hopefully this could bring more talent from this side of the world. I'm happy Nintendo is supporting this and hopefully to the rest of the SEA countries too.
I think people need to get over the over-sexualized stuff, it's not like these ecchi games sells like a hot cake, but they exists comfortably in their niche market. Some, even adult games, become big in other form because they have other qualities instead of just sex appeal, like Fate/Stay Night anime for example. So it can't be more incorrect to suggest it's not a good game because it highlights some... melons...
I honestly enjoy these ecchi games myself, though I haven't get Burst yet. Hopefully, there is a discount when this released, so I can finally take it (I have been waiting for one). Sure, it's not a game you'll want to play in public though...
Capcom is really the best developer out there at optimizing their engine graphics and performance for 3DS, apart of Nintendo in-house of course. From Resident Evil Revelations, to Monster Hunter, and even Ace Attorney: Dual Destiny looks really great too.
Yokai Watch doing crazy well, even if it's just a spin-off. Just imagine how well Yokai Watch 3 will do, it might surpass even Pokemon in Japan. With Monster Hunter X later this year, 3DS seems set to end this year pretty well in Japan.
Decent result for The Great Ace Attorney. Localisation please Capcom! Even digital only release is fine, I just want to play.
Splatoon still holding well, hope it has the staying power of Mario Kart 8 or better. Wii U keep decreasing, I hope it could stay above 10k, maybe Yoshi could help. Fire Emblem, I was hoping for better, but seems to have decent legs so far, hopefully it'll stay that way.
This totally came out of no where, shocking. Not that there is no sign of that, we haven't seen Iwata appearance lately, but still...
Mr. Satoru Iwata, you will be deeply missed and won't be forgotten. Thank you for everything. Rest in peace. My thoughts are for his family, friends and everyone at Nintendo.
I just feel like something is missing from me. I really like Mr. Iwata, his presentation in Nintendo Direct, his low profile way of talking, like he is not a CEO but a friend. It's a sad day, we just lost a truly great man. My eyes is teary right now.
Persona Q is tempting... I planned to buy the physical release one day (too many backlog right now), but this deal might be hard to pass. Decision, decision... :/
Happy to see Fire Emblem continue to do well. The limited edition probably sold out already, which would explain the absence from the chart. Would be a good relief for IS, after the failure of Code Name STEAM.
Splatoon is still holding really well and looks like it will have a decent long legs. Nintendo really strike a gold with that. Wii U is slowly declining after the Splatoon boost, but stay in five figures which is a good thing. Hopefully, Yoshi Woolly World will give it another boost. And who knows how Splatoon will do after the August update, perhaps another boost as people complained with lack of content will finally get it.
PS4 is doing really well and it's such a mistery, the software chart doesn't reflect the many unit of hardware sold. But having PS4 and Wii U doing great right now at least proved that home console market in Japan is still alive, which is a good thing. Xbox though, I don't know why they still insist of selling in Japan.
Single player experience all the way. I don't have a gaming friend, and not anyone in my family is gaming either. Playing online can be fun sometime though, but I mostly seek single player experience.
@Damo @BLPs Thanks! I see, so there's two thing, an SNES add-on and a standalone SNES combined system under Sony brand. I guess Nintendo did a right thing after all, even though I can't say I agree with the way they did it.
I'd like to believe this is authentic. What I can't understand is, why so many Sony branding and so little Nintendo? I thought it was supposed to be SNES add-on.
That's really a shame that this happened. To be fair, we only heard one side of the story, and there's always the other side of the story so we can take a fair view of the whole situation. Regardless, it should never happened in the first place and I hope Nintendo has taken further measure to prevent this in future.
Had to say I'm not that impressed when playing this on 3DS for the first time, to me, ALBW is much better. That said, I still enjoyed the game. It's a bit overrated for me, though it's easily an 8 if I had to give a score.
Haven't played Majora Mask yet, my 3DS catridge didn't work for some reason.
Heard good things about this game. Zero Escape has been on my 3DS wishlist for a while, though I'm waiting for a discount to finally click the purchase button.
I'll give the longer version a watch later, always fun to see artist processes.
Regarding character design, I really like the GBA Fire Emblem (Lyn FTW!), but I enjoyed Awakening as much too. At the end of the day, his FE characters is popular, so IS definitely did a right choice. I'm happy to see him returned.

Nintendo need to make Super Mario Player for 3DS that plays all user created levels, all of the styles also exists in 3DS, so it should be possible.
