Once again it's the fans doing what the company refuses to do. Can't wait til they get fan servers up for all the games Nintendo has dropped support for.
@Krull Whlie I don't doubt the developers are being careful since this is one of the fan favorites of the most popular ip in Japan, I'm almost certain that this is another case of Square announcing games way too early.
Well this was a disappointing read, I get the sentiment that 60fps isn't necessary at all for a Turn Based RPG; and I would agree but this is only being thrown around for damage control.
You can go ahead and cherrypick other modern games that run at 30fps or other fallacies like saying "would you rather have x or y" implying we can't have both, but they don't hold any water.
Not to mention the switch still has it's fair share of 1st party games that run at 60fps and even 1080p like splatoon 2/3, mario kart, and ARMS and those games have much more going on than TTYD (I know some of these are dynamic resolutions but still).
I'm just going to ignore the pretend tech experts that try and defend this.
A modern console multiple times more powerful than the original hardware this game was on should be able to run to native framerate it was on in the very least, I don't feel like this is an outrageous expectation to have, especially when this seems to be a remaster, not a remake made from the ground up.
(If I'm wrong about this feel free to correct me)
Yeah this is the same type of mentality why pokemon will continue to stay a mediocre series.
"Maybe if we kept spending more money on this mediocre franchise and pray something will finally change!"
Yeah no thanks I'm not paying $35 extra for mediocre dlc on top of a mediocre full price game that barely functions. Especially when there are a multitude of better alternatives to pokemon or just games in general.
The only way to really get at gamefreak is to vote with your wallet, but since pokemon fans will buy anything things aren't going to change soon.
Honestly the lawsuit should've extended to the Pro Controller, while not nearly as bad the joycons the former is still at a risk of drifting and for both controllers Nintendo has done jack squat to fix either.
Good, this is the best development studio Nintendo has by far. Their revenue should honestly be higher considering they basically carry the Switch library.
Europe by far, it doesn't have any visual clutter like the NA version and the box art design actually has good art that gives you a general representation of the game unlike the Japan one.
While I like Sub Zero more, Scorpion being the theoretical choice makes more sense since he is the poster boy of MK. Though I doubt he'll ever get in due to the bloody nature of MK as much as I'd love to see him in smash.
I stand by the opinion that covid accelerated E3's death because it gave companies the idea of streaming their own presentations digitally, and they kept the trend even after the pandemic was over.
Still, I'm going to miss E3 - it was still a major staple in the gaming sphere that brought people together to look forward to exciting game announcements. Summer games fest this year was fine but it won't ever capture the same feeling that it's predecessor did.
I could count the pixels in the trailer. This game looked the roughest in the whole direct and thats saying something, especially since it's a first party game.
We need to stop trying to hype up every other monster collector that isn't pokemon as a "rival" or "killer" it's getting very old.
Pokemon at this point is way bigger than any game that'll come out and is now the biggest media franchise in the world, obviously no other will ever be big enough to take on it, trying to frame other "competitors" is just pure stupidity and delusion that spawns pointless articles like this one.
What we should we hoping is that the many alternatives to pokemon turn out to be good games instead of trying to paint them as something they're not.
People shouldn't be surprised that they aren't bothering to fix the performance issues of the game, it's GameFreak after all, not to mention they already got their moneys worth from their fans.
One of the most unpolished and rushed 1st party games ever is the 7th best selling Switch game, does that say more about the company who produced such a mess or the fans that bought it?
Now that the game is going to release soon those people that unironically thought that TOTK was going to release with new hardware can take their tinfoil hates off now.
I'm still deciding whether or not it's better than Torna as a dlc but Future Redeemed is indeed worth the time and money investment. It's one of the best dlcs I played and brings the Klaus saga to a satisfying conclusion.
Great theme but I can't myself to be nearly as interested in the game as I was in the first couple of months sadly. The splatfests are the only thing bringing me back and even then I lose interest in them pretty fast.

Re: Mortal Kombat 1 Gets A New Update On Switch, Visual Improvements & More
Ah thanks for the reminder, I been meaning on buying the PC version.
Re: Talking Point: Would You Buy A Digital-Only 'Switch 2'?
When physical media dies so does gaming itself.
Re: Review: Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest The Adventure Of Dai - A Dismal Adaptation Of An Excellent Anime
Thats a disappointment seeing how much I loved the anime.
Dai can't catch a break it seems.
Re: Random: Following 3DS/Wii U Online Shutdown, Fans Look To Create More Public Servers
Once again it's the fans doing what the company refuses to do.
Can't wait til they get fan servers up for all the games Nintendo has dropped support for.
Re: 3DS And Wii U Online Play Ends In "Early April" 2024
And this is why I always encouraged people to mod their 3ds.
Re: Ed Boon Might Already Be Teasing Another Mortal Kombat 1 DLC Character
@Blast16 For the switch version absolutely, don't waste your money on the worst version possible.
Get it on any other platform.
Re: Sonic Superstars Will Apparently Run At "A Smooth 60FPS" On Switch
@Ironcore For nintendo fans it is.
Re: Hideki Kamiya Is Leaving PlatinumGames
He's probably gonna block all of nintendolife staff for posting this article.
Re: Mortal Kombat 1 Will "Absolutely Be Getting An Update" On Switch, Says Ed Boon
Yeah even after this game gets updated I'm not touching the Switch version.
My best bet right now is to get the PC version.

Re: Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake "Progressing Quite Steadily", According To Series Creator
Well it's better than nothing.
I just hope it includes the extra content of the previous remake.
Re: Early Tech Analysis Suggests Paper Mario's Thousand-Year Door Remaster Might Run At 30FPS

But then again Nintendo fans will buy anything.
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's Game Boy Color, SNES & NES Library With Four More Games
Imagine waiting months for this lol.
Better to just emulate it yourself
Re: Pokémon Company's COO Addresses Issue Between Release Schedule And Game Quality
The solution is as plain as day but this seems to be the typical coporate nothing response so it seems that pokemon will continue to be mediocre.
Re: Soapbox: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet DLC Is A Chance To Win Back Disenchanted Fans
Yeah this is the same type of mentality why pokemon will continue to stay a mediocre series.

Re: A "Massive amiibo Restock" Is Reportedly On The Way
Disappointed to not see Hero.
Looks like if I want him I'll be spending at least $40 extra.
Re: Nintendo Teases 'Tournament Manager' Feature For Splatoon 3
This sounds like a feature that should've been available at launch.
Very disappointing how even with all the updates Splatoon 3 feels barren.

Re: Tencent Becomes 'Dying Light' Developer Techland's Majority Shareholder
At this point in time I get worried when a developer gets bought out by a much bigger publisher.
Re: Poll: Which Dormant Nintendo Franchise Would You Most Like To See Return?
Fossil Fighters
Re: Switch Online N64 Controllers Are Back In Stock Now (North America)
Yeah no thanks not in any rush to buy one of the worst controllers ever made.
Re: Video: These Replacement Joy-Con Sticks Fix Drift Issues, But How Do They Feel In Practice?
@WolfyTn Yeah you're going to be disappointed if you expect the Switch Successor to jump to 4k lmao.
That's next level delusion.
I agree Nintendo is decades behind still but that expectation is a fantasy right now.
Re: Video: These Replacement Joy-Con Sticks Fix Drift Issues, But How Do They Feel In Practice?
Honestly the lawsuit should've extended to the Pro Controller, while not nearly as bad the joycons the former is still at a risk of drifting and for both controllers Nintendo has done jack squat to fix either.
Re: Poll: What Course Are You Most Excited About In The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Wave 5 DLC?
You can tell which courses are the Mario Kart Tour ones from how bland they look lol
Re: Monolith Soft Profits Almost Doubled In Fiscal Year Ending March 2023
Good, this is the best development studio Nintendo has by far.
Their revenue should honestly be higher considering they basically carry the Switch library.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Donkey Konga
Europe by far, it doesn't have any visual clutter like the NA version and the box art design actually has good art that gives you a general representation of the game unlike the Japan one.
Re: Poll: What's Your Game Of The Year Of 2023 So Far?
It's way too early to decide for GOTY discussions right now, especially since the later half of 2023 also looks stacked.
To answer anyway though, I guess it would have to go to XC3 Future Redeemed since thats technically the only game I bought.
Re: Nintendo "Currently Have No Specifics To Share" About Other Legacy Platforms For Switch Online
Ah so the NSO will stay garbage then.
Thankfully emulation exist.
Re: Random: Mortal Kombat Co-Creator Knows Who He'd Add To Smash Bros., If Nintendo Was To Ask
While I like Sub Zero more, Scorpion being the theoretical choice makes more sense since he is the poster boy of MK.
Though I doubt he'll ever get in due to the bloody nature of MK as much as I'd love to see him in smash.
Re: Random: Jack Black Sings Mario Movie Song, 'Peaches', Live At The Game Awards Concert
I honestly don't think the Mario Movie would've been as good as it was without Jack Black.
Re: Nintendo Infographic Showcases The Games Featured In June's Direct
Would've been nice if it was in order of appearances in the direct or release date.
Re: Poll: What Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Wave 5 DLC Racer Are You Most Excited About?
Kamek should've been a playable character ages ago.
Re: E3 2024 And 2025 Have Supposedly Been Cancelled

Still, I'm going to miss E3 - it was still a major staple in the gaming sphere that brought people together to look forward to exciting game announcements.
Summer games fest this year was fine but it won't ever capture the same feeling that it's predecessor did.
Goodbye E3, thank you for the memories.
Re: Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 Switch Physical Version Requires Downloads
So theres no point in getting it "physically" got it.
Re: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet: The Hidden Treasure Of Area Zero Gets New Trailer
I could count the pixels in the trailer.
This game looked the roughest in the whole direct and thats saying something, especially since it's a first party game.
Re: Nintendo Direct Showcase Confirmed For Tomorrow, 21st June
Pleasant surprise, but unfortunately I am going to miss the livestream due to work.
Hopefully I won't get spoiled after I get home.
Re: A Dead Cells Animated Series Is In The Works For Next Year
I hope theres a reference to the plagiarized review at some point in the show.
Re: Capcom Announces Return Of Showcase, Airing Next Week
More Dragon's Dogma 2 info would be neat and maybe the rumoured next Monster Hunter game.
Re: Soapbox: Pokémon Desperately Needs A Rival, But Who's Big Enough To Take It On?
We need to stop trying to hype up every other monster collector that isn't pokemon as a "rival" or "killer" it's getting very old.

Re: Disgaea 7 Scores October Western Release Date, Nine Months After Japan
This will probably hurt interest and sales, not the smartest decision from NIS.

Re: Yes, Monolith Soft Really Did Help Out With Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom
Re: Poll: What's Your Game Plan For Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?
Nothing, because I don't plan on buying it.
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom
Now that the game is going to release soon those people that unironically thought that TOTK was going to release with new hardware can take their tinfoil hates off now.
Re: Random: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Tops GQ's 100 Greatest Games Of All Time
Not saying that it doesn't deserve the spot but I chuckled when I read "industry experts".
Re: Random: Nintendo Apparently Wasn't A Fan Of Tiger & Hasbro's Pokédex Toy
Ironic now since merchandise is most of pokemon's revenue.
Re: Xenoblade Developer Monolith Soft Raises Staff Salaries Across The Company
I still can't believe that this game released 8 months early.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 29th)
Already beat Xenoblade Future Redeemed, but now I'm trying to 100% it.
Re: Review: Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed - A Stunning Denouement, Utterly Essential
I'm still deciding whether or not it's better than Torna as a dlc but Future Redeemed is indeed worth the time and money investment. It's one of the best dlcs I played and brings the Klaus saga to a satisfying conclusion.
Re: Voting For The Splatoon 3 Zelda-Themed Splatfest Is Now Open
Great theme but I can't myself to be nearly as interested in the game as I was in the first couple of months sadly.
