Re: Early Tech Analysis Suggests Paper Mario's Thousand-Year Door Remaster Might Run At 30FPS

iLikeUrAttitude

Well this was a disappointing read, I get the sentiment that 60fps isn't necessary at all for a Turn Based RPG; and I would agree but this is only being thrown around for damage control.
You can go ahead and cherrypick other modern games that run at 30fps or other fallacies like saying "would you rather have x or y" implying we can't have both, but they don't hold any water.
Not to mention the switch still has it's fair share of 1st party games that run at 60fps and even 1080p like splatoon 2/3, mario kart, and ARMS and those games have much more going on than TTYD (I know some of these are dynamic resolutions but still).
I'm just going to ignore the pretend tech experts that try and defend this.

A modern console multiple times more powerful than the original hardware this game was on should be able to run to native framerate it was on in the very least, I don't feel like this is an outrageous expectation to have, especially when this seems to be a remaster, not a remake made from the ground up.
(If I'm wrong about this feel free to correct me)

But then again Nintendo fans will buy anything.

Re: Soapbox: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet DLC Is A Chance To Win Back Disenchanted Fans

Yeah this is the same type of mentality why pokemon will continue to stay a mediocre series.

"Maybe if we kept spending more money on this mediocre franchise and pray something will finally change!"

Yeah no thanks I'm not paying $35 extra for mediocre dlc on top of a mediocre full price game that barely functions.
Especially when there are a multitude of better alternatives to pokemon or just games in general.

The only way to really get at gamefreak is to vote with your wallet, but since pokemon fans will buy anything things aren't going to change soon.

Re: E3 2024 And 2025 Have Supposedly Been Cancelled

I stand by the opinion that covid accelerated E3's death because it gave companies the idea of streaming their own presentations digitally, and they kept the trend even after the pandemic was over.

Still, I'm going to miss E3 - it was still a major staple in the gaming sphere that brought people together to look forward to exciting game announcements.
Summer games fest this year was fine but it won't ever capture the same feeling that it's predecessor did.

Goodbye E3, thank you for the memories.

Re: Soapbox: Pokémon Desperately Needs A Rival, But Who's Big Enough To Take It On?

iLikeUrAttitude

We need to stop trying to hype up every other monster collector that isn't pokemon as a "rival" or "killer" it's getting very old.
Pokemon at this point is way bigger than any game that'll come out and is now the biggest media franchise in the world, obviously no other will ever be big enough to take on it, trying to frame other "competitors" is just pure stupidity and delusion that spawns pointless articles like this one.

What we should we hoping is that the many alternatives to pokemon turn out to be good games instead of trying to paint them as something they're not.

Re: Pokémon Scarlet And Violet Update Scheduled For Next Week

People shouldn't be surprised that they aren't bothering to fix the performance issues of the game, it's GameFreak after all, not to mention they already got their moneys worth from their fans.

One of the most unpolished and rushed 1st party games ever is the 7th best selling Switch game, does that say more about the company who produced such a mess or the fans that bought it?
