Re: Sakurai Is Sceptical That Future Smash Bros. Titles Can Match Ultimate's Scope

@Not_Soos Smash may celebrate a lot of legacies of gaming but that's never been it's main purpose, it's a nintendo fighting/party game first and foremost, thats just something that the fans have coined.

Also a character "deserving" to be in smash in compeltely subjective, at the end of the day Nintendo adds who they want to (example corrin and Byleth despite not being that high demand, corrin releasing before they're game even coming out too).

Smash on it's own is too big to need ultimate, even before it came out it was still one of the biggest scenes in the fighting game community, with even some fanbases combined not standing up to it.

Personally I would love for the fat of ultimate to be trimmed out, a significant portion of the roster were just echo fighters with most of them just being reskins, I would much rather the focus being on refining on what we already have instead of trying to add more, one major problem I had with smash was it's garbage online, elite smash or just online in general was such a step down from for glory and for fun it's sad.

Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to knock on you for wanting a port of ultimate with enhancements, I'm just trying to be realistic and just pointing out what you're wanting is basically a wishlist and not on whats actually likely to happen.

And I'm perfectly fine with that, for the next entry they can focus on quality over quantity by prioritizing modes instead of characters.
I would love to have a smash game with both smash run and square strike playable online.
As for the roster I'd be perfectly content with a smash 4 sized one, while not as big as ultimates is a still a very generous and reasonable amount to ask for in my opinion.

But ORAS went above and beyond and gave an entire story based on Rayquaza, which I found way better than just remastering Emerald.

I wouldn't call adding a postgame content that can be beaten in a couple hours at most going "above and beyond", especially in replacement to the features that were lost in it's stead.
Personally I found all the endgame content for the 3Ds pokemon games to be heavily mediocre, ORAS probably being the worst offender.
Thats why I immediately went back to XY or even SM once I realized thats all there was to do in ORAS.

You know it's a shame that we never got a third version to this game.
Out of all the 3D pokemon games (at least on the 3Ds) I think that XY had the most potential.
There was a ton of good it brought to the franchises being the models, the refined online, megas and a lot more which makes it my favorite out of the 3D entries, despite it being very flawed.

Re: Early Tech Analysis Suggests Paper Mario's Thousand-Year Door Remaster Might Run At 30FPS

iLikeUrAttitude

Well this was a disappointing read, I get the sentiment that 60fps isn't necessary at all for a Turn Based RPG; and I would agree but this is only being thrown around for damage control.
You can go ahead and cherrypick other modern games that run at 30fps or other fallacies like saying "would you rather have x or y" implying we can't have both, but they don't hold any water.
Not to mention the switch still has it's fair share of 1st party games that run at 60fps and even 1080p like splatoon 2/3, mario kart, and ARMS and those games have much more going on than TTYD (I know some of these are dynamic resolutions but still).
I'm just going to ignore the pretend tech experts that try and defend this.

A modern console multiple times more powerful than the original hardware this game was on should be able to run to native framerate it was on in the very least, I don't feel like this is an outrageous expectation to have, especially when this seems to be a remaster, not a remake made from the ground up.
(If I'm wrong about this feel free to correct me)

But then again Nintendo fans will buy anything.

Yeah this is the same type of mentality why pokemon will continue to stay a mediocre series.

"Maybe if we kept spending more money on this mediocre franchise and pray something will finally change!"

Yeah no thanks I'm not paying $35 extra for mediocre dlc on top of a mediocre full price game that barely functions.
Especially when there are a multitude of better alternatives to pokemon or just games in general.

The only way to really get at gamefreak is to vote with your wallet, but since pokemon fans will buy anything things aren't going to change soon.

Re: E3 2024 And 2025 Have Supposedly Been Cancelled

I stand by the opinion that covid accelerated E3's death because it gave companies the idea of streaming their own presentations digitally, and they kept the trend even after the pandemic was over.

Still, I'm going to miss E3 - it was still a major staple in the gaming sphere that brought people together to look forward to exciting game announcements.
Summer games fest this year was fine but it won't ever capture the same feeling that it's predecessor did.

Goodbye E3, thank you for the memories.
