Re: Digital Foundry Covers The "Disappointing Tech" In Pokémon Legends: Z-A

@darylb24
Without any disrespect meant you were 100% being defensive. You were complaining about things that were never even said and arguing against people that weren't there.

The defensive part comes in where you went on a whole rant about how graphics don't matter despite no one disagreeing.
Once again it's DF's job to review games on a technical level it doesn't matter how badly the game looks or if a series was never known for graphics they're still going to review it as it's their job and it's actually helpful for people to know. Because what if I'm looking to buy a game and it's performance isn't up to par or the quality isn't up to my standards?

Just like it's fair that Pokemon ZA's looks aren't enough to diminish your enjoyment of the game it's also fair for another person to be put off with how the game looks and skip it entirely, it's valid criticism.
It is what it is.

It's hilarious seeing all these comments seething about Digital Foundry's review when they're just doing the same thing they always done.
It's literally their job to review games on a technical level and have been doing it for years, but for some reason people start whining when they have something to say about pokemon.

Objectively speaking the game does not look good, and that's putting it lightly. Pokemon ZA looks like it was made multiple generations ago, from the minecraft water textures that overlap each other, stale environments and every single building being a block with a JPEG slapped onto it as a window. Theres a lot more to say about it but the point is the game does not look good.

But that's fine, no one ever said that bad graphics can deter your enjoyment of a game, neither did digital foundry.
This is the same "graphics don't matter" club right? Then it shouldn't bother seeing a company just give you the technical facts.

@Spider-Kev Yeah they definitely used to care about their appearance at some point and had some integrity.
But it feels like after Iwatas death the soul of the company was gone.

Now Nintendo is more greedy and scummier than ever, suing smaller studios constantly, copyrighting basic game mechanics that they didn't even invent, overpriced games galore etc. etc.

@iLikeUrAttitude they weren't patenting the monster taming genre, this is sensationalism pushed by the Nintendo hate grifters.

They just want to target Pal World exclusively for lazily copying Pokemon designs even going as far as using models like Mewtwo Y.

They're patenting basic game mechanics that are commonly found in the monster taming genre, so yes they are. The problem is that with how vague their patents are, they can apply the to vast majority of games.

It just happens in their attempt to take down a single indie game that they somehow feel threatened by they want to risk pushing the bad industry in a terrible directin because Nintenod is a scummy company.

Also they aren't using any models from pokemon, that's a baseless rumor that has no evidence to support it and was debunked several times.

Thank god, patentening basic game mechanics does nothing but harm the gaming industry and stagnate creativity.
This is even more ridiculous since Nintendo wasn't even one of the first companies to do the monster collector formula, that goes to SMT and Dragon Quest V.

Nintendo is acting like a petty patent troll right now and I hope all of their game play mechanic patents get rejected too. As well as losing the Palworld lawsuit.

It feels illegal what Nintendo is doing - modifying current patents they made (after a game launched) and filing new ones in the middle of a lawsuit.

Garbage, scummy company.

Re: Nintendo On Why The Mario Kart World Album Isn't Available For Nintendo Music

There is literally no point in buying Nintendo Music when they drip feed decade old music and don't even frequently update their catalog to games that just released.
Just listen to the tracks through literally any other means.
I personally use YT music because I get to listen to a variety of music along with Nintendo tracks and other game OSTs that other people uploaded.

This service along with their online is garbage and shouldn't be supported.

Xbox is basically dead and it's disappointing.
I was one of the few people rooting for them this gen cause they were way more pro consumer compared to playstation and especially nintendo.
Then it seemed like overnight they woke up one day and decided to piss everyone off.

I agree on Arceus though, that was a decent game, held back by it's technical limitations (even comparetd to other Switch 1 games)

I disagree, there were far better looking games that came out on the switch even on the first year of the console. Monster Hunter Stories 2, which came the year before made Arceus look like a venmu version of it.
Legends Arceus was just obviously rushed (unfortunately like most pokemon games on the switch). Then again Gamefreak was never known to be good at optimization either.

Probably the mental state of some people. I don't know. It's wild in here.

It actually sounds like you're ironically arguing with the inner idea of people in your head. No one in this entire comment section was saying the game had to be anywhere near that level of quality, people are just saying that for a franchise as big as pokemon, it's games should look like it was made in the same generation as games around it.

I agree that some things are overblown about this game and people are just dunking on it for clout and just cause, but I don't see it here at least. You're doing the exact opposite of the spectrum where you're brushing off even the slightest of criticism.
The article was marked as an opinion piece and anyone here is allowed to voice out their disappointment in the game.

If their "negativity" is bothering you so much, perhaps you don't like the game as much as you think you do.

I don't know... Maybe I've been spoiled by games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Hitman: World of Assassination. Or maybe Game Freak needs to get a grip and start making its worlds feel a bit more alive. It's not much to ask, right?

Am I crazy in thinking this, or do you agree? Should more NPCs in Pokémon games actually start moving and living their lives, or are you happy for them to just stand around and wait for you to interact with them? Let me know with a comment in the usual place.

Not at all, it's called having standards.
I would also imagine it's pretty jarring coming back to Pokemon ZA after playing Monster Hunter Stories, Pokemon Time Stranger, Palworld and so much more. Pokemon fans deserves a better game, especially when it's still multiple generations behind, simple as.
The fact that this is a conversation just shows how low the bar is for pokemon.

That's not how voting with your wallet works lmao.
If the person is not satisfied with the product, then they logically shouldn't spend money on said product and let the company know. THAT'S voting with your wallet and not continuously buying every single entry and hoping it somehow gets better.

If pokemon (at least on console) is still this far behind compared to modern games (and games multiple generations ago) then he has the right to so.
