I don't know why people are still on about one negative review, what if that's genuinely what they thought of the game?
The reception from what I'm seeing is still very positive.
So it looks like that most people are probably going to like it.

I hate to admit it but he's kinda right, this is one of those things were people will have an outrage about but when the game releases things will go like nothing happened.

Yeah, I stopped taking the Game Awards seriously a long time ago, it's not a celebration of gaming it's Geoff and friends the show with ads. I think most people did after the Last of Us 2 won 7 awards in 2020, including GOTY.

Just look at the RPG category, I find it a bit jarring how Monster Hunter Wilds was the only JRPG on this list and the fact that two of those nominees were NOT received well by fans being Avowed and Outer Worlds 2.
No sight of Digimon Time Stranger, Dragon Quest 1&2 HD 2D, Trails in the Sky chapter 1, Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition and more. All of which reviewed much better than the two.

Now if you made the argument it makes sense a remake or dlc wouldn't be nominated I would agree... if Elden Ring's DLC wasn't nominated and two Fighting game collections were nominated also.... (Capcom Fighting Collection 2 & Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection).

Also Death Stranding 2 feels like a sneak in placement, especially since Hideo Kojima and Geoff are well known friends.

But hey it makes sense in the context of the Game Awards - Dragon Quest, Trails, etc. aren't as "big" as DK Bananza and don't generate as much "hype". So even if they are reviewed very positively I guess in Geoff's mind the average gamer is just going to go "huh?" when they're nominated.

Eh I'm sure it's selling much better in the US and Japan anyway.

I mean the Game Awards were always just a popularity contest with a heavy bias to western games, just look at all the nominees in the RPG category only having 1 JRPG.

There's no reason to be surprised.

The casting looks really good so far, but I would honestly prefer an animated movie.

It looks like they're just going to shove multiple games worth of plotpoints together and the pacing is heavily going to suffer from it just like the first one.

Didn't expect Age of Imprisonment to be ranked lower than Age of Calamity if I'm being honest.

Without any disrespect meant you were 100% being defensive. You were complaining about things that were never even said and arguing against people that weren't there.

The defensive part comes in where you went on a whole rant about how graphics don't matter despite no one disagreeing.
Once again it's DF's job to review games on a technical level it doesn't matter how badly the game looks or if a series was never known for graphics they're still going to review it as it's their job and it's actually helpful for people to know. Because what if I'm looking to buy a game and it's performance isn't up to par or the quality isn't up to my standards?

Just like it's fair that Pokemon ZA's looks aren't enough to diminish your enjoyment of the game it's also fair for another person to be put off with how the game looks and skip it entirely, it's valid criticism.

I don't get why you and a good portion of the comment section are being so defensive about the game.
They're simply analyzing the game technically.

It's hilarious seeing all these comments seething about Digital Foundry's review when they're just doing the same thing they always done.
It's literally their job to review games on a technical level and have been doing it for years, but for some reason people start whining when they have something to say about pokemon.

Objectively speaking the game does not look good, and that's putting it lightly. Pokemon ZA looks like it was made multiple generations ago, from the minecraft water textures that overlap each other, stale environments and every single building being a block with a JPEG slapped onto it as a window. Theres a lot more to say about it but the point is the game does not look good.

But that's fine, no one ever said that bad graphics can deter your enjoyment of a game, neither did digital foundry.
This is the same "graphics don't matter" club right? Then it shouldn't bother seeing a company just give you the technical facts.

Haven't played it, looks more interesting than the last one though.

Japan by far, clear, concise, has the Toriyama artwork and no clutter.

The Finals as usual with friends and Digimon Story: Time Stranger by myself on PC.
Surprised by how much I like it, it's my first Digimon game.

They should've just delayed the port if it was going to have this many issues at launch.

But it feels like after Iwatas death the soul of the company was gone.

Now Nintendo is more greedy and scummier than ever, suing smaller studios constantly, copyrighting basic game mechanics that they didn't even invent, overpriced games galore etc. etc.

Simple - I like do Nintendo's consoles and games, I just don't like them as a company, they're a terrible one at that.

I would say it's ok.

Games are still getting delayed for the Switch 2 and a good amount of games are still being locked to 30fps which is still disappointing.
And some games aren't coming to the console outright.

This feels like another NES vs SNES situation where both will be successful but the SNES will noticeably sell less units than it's successor. Same with the DS and 3Ds

They're patenting basic game mechanics that are commonly found in the monster taming genre, so yes they are. The problem is that with how vague their patents are, they can apply the to vast majority of games.

It just happens in their attempt to take down a single indie game that they somehow feel threatened by they want to risk pushing the bad industry in a terrible directin because Nintenod is a scummy company.

Also they aren't using any models from pokemon, that's a baseless rumor that has no evidence to support it and was debunked several times.

@Bolt_Strike Not sure if you can sue the design for being too similar.
But all claims about the designs being AI generated have held no value, same with the models apparently being ripped.

Nintendo doesn't have any ground to stand over legality wise.
So instead they just decide to resort to scummy tactics like patent trolling.

It feels illegal what Nintendo is doing - modifying current patents they made (after a game launched) and filing new ones in the middle of a lawsuit.

@Edward_J_Grug_III I don't know, I'm sure there would be people willing to pay money for Shiny pokemon, or pokemon with perfect IVs.

Especially since apparently this is the hardest pokemon game to farm shinies as theres no method/exploit to streamline the process.

There is literally no point in buying Nintendo Music when they drip feed decade old music and don't even frequently update their catalog to games that just released.
Just listen to the tracks through literally any other means.
I personally use YT music because I get to listen to a variety of music along with Nintendo tracks and other game OSTs that other people uploaded.

This service along with their online is garbage and shouldn't be supported.

Series went on the decline after X&Y, and the quality got laughable bad and showed off Gamefreak's incompetence when pokemon transferred to console.

But things aren't going to change probably because the sell like hotcakes regardless of quality and the fans eat it up.
If this were any other IP it would be ripped to shreds.
