Re: Former PlayStation Head Praises Nintendo For Being "In Touch With Their Fan Base"

Nintendo is arguably the most out of touch company when it comes to gaming. At least in the big 3. They're still a decade or more when it comes to online features, hardware wise they're still behind (though it's more excusable since the switch is portable), and they've consistently just being the most anti consumer out of the big 3 companies.

The success Nintendo is still getting has to be attributed by the quality of their games and brand loyalty. Nintendo at least knows that.

it's at a pretty consistent 60FPS, give up the saltiness.

Like they fix the performance massively above what you folk expected, and yet you still have to try and act like its running at 25 FPS or something.

Requiring an entirely new console to make the game playable isn't "fixing" the performance. The original port is still garbage, it's just finally running good on a different platform altogether.
The visuals still look terrible since the game has little to no art direction was obviously very rushed.

This isn't "saltiness" it's blunt criticism, something that's rare here. The game released in an unacceptable state and it took this long for it to be playable through legal means.

Yeah all these "next gen" prices are just putting me off from buying said games altogether.
I was going to get a Switch 2 then I saw the game prices and all of the other anti consumer crap Nintendo was putting out along with it and just destroyed my optimism for it.

None of these games that are charging $80 seem worth it, just increasing the price because Nintendo did the same.

I'm playing Expedition 33 and I'm having one of the best gaming experiences I had in years and that game is only $50.

Re: Hands On: 'Drag x Drive' Is Fantastic, But Is It Destined To Be Switch 2's ARMS?

The problem with ARMS is that it was advertised as a competitive fighting game when it had little to no depth. It was never going to take off as an esport because of it, not to mention it's very boring as a spectator game.
As well as preparing consoles and copies for competitive play is a pain since you have to unlock every single ARM gear.

I can see this game lasting longer than ARMS since it just seems to be a casual basketball game, nothing more nothing less.
Though if the double joycon controls are forced I can see it being a deal breaker for some people.

So, real talk for a moment: who actually uses built in console chat features instead of...I dunno....Discord?

I have friends who play playstation while I'm on PC and they use discord on their console. It makes it convenient for them to be able to VC all on one device instead of having hook up a 3rd party one (another reason why the switch's voice chat is garbage).

While yes this is anecdotal I'm 110% confident a good amount of people use their console VC and prefer over an app like with nintendo, since ya know you're actually provided with basic features like messaging, parties, and native voice chat.
I'm also counting discord on the console because it's part of it and you're still using the console to communicate.

Nintendo needs to take a page off of their book, cause it's really sad how they're still a decade or more behind when it comes to online.

Yeah it's pathetic how the switch after 8 years still has less communication features than last gen systems including that of the Wii U and 3DS.

I don't know what they were thinking when they made the app and unironically expected people to use it. What's even more confusing is that the switch is apparently capable of native voice chat but it has to be enabled by the developers of the game... every time.

He already addressed that in the other part of his statement so his point still stands.
And if I'm being honest, I agree, what's really going to dictate the momentum of the launch sales are going to be the presence of heavy hitters in terms of launch games. $100 or even $150 won't mean that much to dedicated fans if there are games to be had.

The original switch was very reasonable priced for a new console and Botw alone carried the first half of it's sales.
And if speculation is correct about Mario Kart 9 launching with the Switch 2, then it should be a pretty solid launch, probably not as strong as base Switch but better than most consoles.
