Re: Video: Pragmata Hands-On Impressions Shared By Capcom

I think the demo was pretty fun, wish it was longer so I could get a better impression of it. I'll probably revisit it again sometime this week.

I liked the 1.5D gameplay during combat and found it very interesting, though my issue is that the controls for hacking felt awkward.
But it does mostly feel good to play and didn't run like garbage unlike MH Wilds so it has my interest.

Honestly it's really hard for me to ever considering doubling down on merch like this, even for my favorite series.
Most I have are a few figurines and small metal posters I hung in my room.

I can't justify the pricing on artbooks like this most of the time personally, probably because I'm extremely paranoid of ruining it myself barely even looking at it.

I couldn't agree more, this style of writing was good when it was in short bursts and didn't change the tone of the entire piece of media I was consuming.
It's why I'm torn on Guardians of the Galaxy - on one hand it's one of my favorite movies, but it also started the trend of the MCU shoving jokes down everyones throats.

I also really confused with why they thought adding this character was a good idea. I thought people were very vocal that they DIDN'T like having theirr hand held in the form of a character like Atreus from God of War.
This is probably the type of game where it makes the LEAST sense to add that kind of trope.

@ShadLink It doesn't.

You just wrote a whole bunch of nothing to just say you really like this game and it deserves a 9.51/10 because you said so.
Which is fine... because it's your opinion, but you're passing your own ruleset as objective which is the problem.

Someone rating the game a 7/10 is just as valid as you giving it your score. It's not a bad score it's just what they thought of the game.

It's almost like different opinions exist.

The amount of people who are saying "Not Interested" is so depressing. I don't want to hear complaints about incomplete or overpriced games. This game has so much content packed into it and is complete on release. And it's damn good. But sure, go ahead and write it off. You all who answered that, lack taste.

Sometimes I feel like some of you don't even like video games if you're not willing to give games like this a shot.

I've preordered and bought digitally. If you somehow get the sense to change your minds, you can find me in City Trial.

This is one of the most overdramatic responses to people just not liking a game lol.
Once again it's not that serious.

Re: The Game Awards Nominees Announced, Donkey Kong Bananza Up For GOTY

@SirLink
Yeah, I stopped taking the Game Awards seriously a long time ago, it's not a celebration of gaming it's Geoff and friends the show with ads. I think most people did after the Last of Us 2 won 7 awards in 2020, including GOTY.

Just look at the RPG category, I find it a bit jarring how Monster Hunter Wilds was the only JRPG on this list and the fact that two of those nominees were NOT received well by fans being Avowed and Outer Worlds 2.
No sight of Digimon Time Stranger, Dragon Quest 1&2 HD 2D, Trails in the Sky chapter 1, Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition and more. All of which reviewed much better than the two.

Now if you made the argument it makes sense a remake or dlc wouldn't be nominated I would agree... if Elden Ring's DLC wasn't nominated and two Fighting game collections were nominated also.... (Capcom Fighting Collection 2 & Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection).

Also Death Stranding 2 feels like a sneak in placement, especially since Hideo Kojima and Geoff are well known friends.

But hey it makes sense in the context of the Game Awards - Dragon Quest, Trails, etc. aren't as "big" as DK Bananza and don't generate as much "hype". So even if they are reviewed very positively I guess in Geoff's mind the average gamer is just going to go "huh?" when they're nominated.

No. Kirby is nintendos faygo. Cheap, nasty knock off juice that actively detracts from the real thing. It’s just a boring nothing. Fluff blowing past the window, irreverent, niche, nothing.

The fact that Nintendo allows so much coverage of a 7/10 franchise (at best), continuously, generation after generation, is mind boggling. It doesn’t sell, yet this somehow gets more attention than fzero, Metroid, Pikmin and kid Icarus?

This is the great cultural dissonance between its western and eastern wings - no one I’ve ever met plays Kirby, cares about Kirby or plans to buy Kirby. Kirby does not exist to most normal people.

Sincerely, 42 year old gamer.

I don't like kirby either but it's not that serious man lol.
