Re: Opinion: Third-Party Support For Switch 2 Is Already A Dream Come True

h3s

I am not interested unless they are 3rd party exclusives or at a minimum the lead platform. (Ported elsewhere much later). Not interested in a version that isn’t as good and costs more. (Don’t see why it isn’t in the interests of 3rd parties to make Nintendo exclusives. Xbox gets loads of stuff that I think few people are buying for the types of games I like PC + Switch 2 makes sense (Designing around the Switch 2 capabilities.)

Re: Switch 2 Has The Largest Third-Party Software Lineup Ever For New Nintendo Hardware

h3s

The headline may be technically true but these are not the best console versions or exclusives in most cases. Just ports. If Switch 2 was the lead platform it would be different. But I think I will stick with Xbox in most cases for third party due to not having any games that I haven’t been happy with since I stopped using only Nintendo. (I think the superior VRR on Xbox matters more to me than the improvements I might get from a ps5 pro).

Re: Talking Point: Smashing Switch 2 Numbers Prove Nintendo's Strategy Is Super Effective

h3s

I wish I had waited a bit longer to get my Switch 2. I only recently played through again most of the Wii U ports. (After first playing them close to day one on Wii U.) It’s too soon for me to play them again. I was expecting Galaxy 1&2 to be quite a bit more impressive. I am hoping the Switch 2 update to Kirby and the Forgotten Land is impressive. (I have bought it). Pretty disappointed with Mario Kart World and DK (I find collectathons dull as dishwasher.) Out of everything I think I am most looking forward to Mario Tennis. (Haven’t actually played the Wii U or Switch iterations). I think I would have enjoyed world much more if I hadn’t played the Wii U or Switch Mario Karts. (From 7 8 felt like a new game but 8 deluxe and world just feels like more of the same.)

Re: Upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Games & Accessories For November & December 2025

Terrible that you don’t actually list the best prices. Kirby is available for as low as £54 from shopto (Who I personally don’t like) but the Game Collection or Curry’s have it at £57. Sucks how much content now is written not for the reader but so the site can make money from affiliate links. (Only reviewing games that give review codes is another problem.)

Okay maybe some of the numbers are just wrong but the principle still applies.

Re: The Binding Of Isaac Is Heading To Switch 2 With A Full Physical Release

h3s

I don’t like Nicalis (Disappointing that Terry Kavanaugh seems to exclusively work with them on consoles). But the only game I like from the creator of this is Super Meat Boy. (Can’t see why they didn’t manage to keep the original OST which is much better than the new one.) I think the ost and mechanics are the impressive bits. The other games of his I have tried are not good.

Re: UK Charts: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Is The Smallest Retail Launch Since 'Let's Go!' In Europe

h3s

@DanieK I have not enjoyed Mario Kart World at all yet. (I have been playing it but I wouldn’t have bothered with it at all if I could have got a Switch 2 with DK at the same price.) I did enjoy the Cross Worlds network test on Series X because it actually plays like a new game. (I have not got it yet because I don’t agree with the way the DLC is being done.) For it’s full price Mario Kart World should have had the amount of content Kirby Air Ride has.

Re: UK Charts: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Is The Smallest Retail Launch Since 'Let's Go!' In Europe

@Ralek85 Nintendo have stopped bothering about quality even for first party since the Switch. (Ever since hiring a money man as CEO.) The Wii U games that ended up getting ported to the Switch were generally decent games that worked properly on the system they were released on. There were too many Switch games that wee just not good enough. (DKCR HD/Link’s Awakening/Echoes of Wisdom) they seem to be a bit better on Switch 2 but it’s not as if they were sold cheaply or anything. If you compare NES Remix 1&2 to Nintendo World Championship that is another situation where it just isn’t right. (The Switch Online emulator for the lost levels works much better than on Nintendo World Championship. The challenge where you have to knock the mushroom over the top is a good example.) Metroid Prime Remastered is the exception and that is the standard Nintendo used to be known for.

Re: Reminder: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Switch 2 Hardware Bundle Now Available

h3s

Has anyone else experienced Amazon UK listing an expected delivery date of a weeks time for a preorder of a Switch game. (Don’t understand it - it has been dispatched seems to be fairly close to the final delivery station now but it says expected on 23rd but if I was to order now it would apparently arrive tomorrow?)

Re: Switch 2 Bundles Get A Surprise Price Drop At Select French Retailers

h3s

@jsty3105 I am a bit reluctant to do that because it could be considered abuse. (With Xbox my account is set to UK and I don't change it or use a vpn just buy from wherever is cheapest that it lets me usually Iceland). Bit strange Nintendo doesn't have to do the same as MS (Who were forced into it).

Re: Switch 2 Launch Title Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster Updated (Version 1.0.2), Here Are The Patch Notes

h3s

I really don’t get why people like this. There is one bit where there is a massive difficulty spike near the end unless they changed it. I might have missed something but I never used to need much grinding in older SE games. Maybe people expect people to research what to go for online in advance of starting to play but for me doing that seems like a waste even bothering to play the game at all. I don’t mind doing some side quests and levelling at the same time but this game lacks any content like that. (The main story is pretty lacking also).

Re: Switch 2 Bundles Get A Surprise Price Drop At Select French Retailers

h3s

It is not useful buying a system from Amazon.fr for me. (Buying a UK AC Adapter would cost £25). I know it would be possible to use a travel adapter but I don’t like using them.

I may get a French pro controller 2 though. Ordering from Amazon.fr is not too bad.

Does anybody know the situation with buying download codes? Is there one region for Europe and the UK together. (Is it possible to buy from Iceland like I do relatively often on Xbox). I don’t really want foreign cover art on physical cartridges.

(Looks like that is not likely to work seems strange as Xbox didn’t really want to allow it I don’t think. I guess even there they didn’t legally have to still consider the UK as in the Europe region).

Re: "OpenAI Is Trying To Get Sued" - Nintendo IP Floods Sora 2 Video Generation App

h3s

@MrGawain Those AI summaries are pretty bad. There is AI mode search also by Google (Separate thing though). I have no sympathy for the quality of slop that appears at the top Google (Under the AI overview). Most so called journalism don’t even state properly where the information came from. I don’t get why linking to other sites is such a problem but it definitely is. (Perhaps they are just copying rumours from each other in which case it is not worthwhile content anyway but being honest about that wouldn’t look very good.) It has got much more difficult to find decent well sourced content. (When I first went online nearly all the content was impartial the people reviewing stuff were putting their own money into it now most sites are just an extension of the marketing departments of the game creators.)

There is other stuff as well like only listing people who they get referral money from under the articles etc. If you look back at this site on the way back machine it used to be so much better.

Re: "OpenAI Is Trying To Get Sued" - Nintendo IP Floods Sora 2 Video Generation App

h3s

@MrGawain I think the changes to search engines are mostly welcome. (I use paid perplexity which specifically lists the sources). Can’t see how it devalues anything apart from ad’s which I don’t care for one bit. (Be quite happy with just fan sites like when I first started using the internet don’t really trust reviews when the publisher gives out free games anyway).

Re: Game-Key Cards A "Sales Strategy Decision", Says Resident Evil Requiem Director

h3s

I will probably end up all digital (I did for Wii U because I hated the noise you get from spinning disks.) For Switch I was mostly physical but I have recently re bought quite a bit of digital when I have the cartridges already. I find especially for Arcade type games I like to just have one credit and my money has been totally wasted on quite a few carts for that reason.

Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Officially Reveals Mega Man Season Pass Collab

h3s

@Chimichanga I have not picked it up for that reason. £70 would have been okay but I don’t like DLC straight away or digital deluxe nonsense. I tried the play test on Series X but it didn’t grip me like transformed did on PC . (The World Tour was a great way to learn transformed I don’t think spending ages in time trials would keep my attention.) I don’t even know whether I will be interested in it down the line.

Re: Sega Reignites Its Nintendo Rivalry In New Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Trailer

h3s

I wasn’t impressed with the Network Test on Series X. Still might give it a shot but the PC version of All Stars Racing Transformed gripped me straight away and this didn’t. Depends on the single player I think. (If it really spends time to properly help you master the game I think I am in. Didn’t start multiplayer with Transformed until I got the Triple Star License).

Re: Hades 2 Launches As Timed Console Exclusive On Switch & Switch 2 This Month

@topsekret The difference is the indies have a small print run they know will sell out. Doing a big print run at $23 a cart is a massive risk and to pay for the misses the hits need big print runs. Nintendo doesn’t reprint some stuff frequently (e.g Metroid Prime Remastered). I don’t think all 3rd party games going to the same type of model as LRG is better really.
