Re: Video: Switch 2's Mouse Controls Are Nothing New For Nintendo

I would rather of have at least Map on the touchscreen and screen mirroring for the touchscreen style games. (Quite a few Wii U ports just don’t quite work right on Switch). May be technically even easier for them to do it using a Switch 1 using the game share feature but I think it’s super unlikely that they will.

Re: Nintendo Defends Switch 2's Perceived Lack Of Innovation

@sanderev The difference is Nintendo always cheaps out on tech and it holds things back for the whole generation. They could have easily increased the clock speeds when they went from 20nm to 16nm. But even the stock Tegra X1 can run much better and people have managed to get rid of significant amounts of slowdown. (At least if those issues are not fixed on Switch 2 then I can give Echoes of Wisdom/Links Awakening a go on a modded Switch 1 as I have the carts). Looks like it might not be necessary though in this day and age there is no reason for a £50 game to be as bad as Nintendo has put there name to. (Even worse at £75). Total joke.

I wish they had gone for a newer process technology so it didn’t need to be downclocked. Docked it should be able to run at full speed regardless but that doesn’t seem to be the case. (Modders seem to have the switch 1 working much better for some games with it running at the X1 full speed although I haven’t tried it).

Re: Zelda: BOTW Switch 2 Edition Won't Include The DLC, Nintendo Confirms

Japan is getting a much better deal. (I haven’t imported anything for Switch unlike SNES/N64 - SNES games and I imported a USA N64 because it was significantly better). I have about 60 physical Switch games and loads of downloads (Although I go for Series X for indies now due to too many just not being good enough on Switch). I will get a Switch 2 but my attach rate will go way down). I am spending more for the same indie games on series x but so far it has been worth it.

Re: Round Up: The First Impressions Of Mario Kart World Are In

I don’t understand the attraction to Mario Kart. The only ones I have really got into are the SNES original and the Wii one (With the wheel). I played MK8 quite a bit (40hrs maybe) on the Wii U but barely touched Deluxe. Found the Switch DLC not as well done as the first lot.

I got much more out of Diddy Kong Racing/All Stars Racing Transformed (PC)

I can understand wanting to do something about the amount places such as Cex have made on the back of not really doing much. (Sucks that they are nearly the only places left on the high street).

I know it’s a long shot but I hope we get the selects range back once the switch 2 releases. (Quite a number of games I would rebuy digitally for convenience but not at full price).

I wonder how much money places like Cex have lost Nintendo over the switch lifetime.

I prefer Nintendo when they are trying harder. (I never experienced anything as badly done as DKCR/Links Awakening/Echo’s of Wisdom on Wii U - proper Nintendo games anyway).

Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Trailer Released, Speeding Onto Switch "Soon"

I played a lot of the Steam version of All Stars Racing Transformed but I couldn’t tolerate the Wii U or 360 versions. I suspect the switch version of this will be similarly disappointing. Might try this on Series X. (I think I played the Steam All Stars Racing Transformed for over 300 hours which is a lot for me I enjoyed it much more than Mario Kart 8 which I played quite a bit on Wii U and then bought but hardly touched on Switch).

@Joeynator3000 The Unity thing seems to explain a bit. But I am fairly sure on the Wii U stuff like Trine / Trine 2 used Unity and were pretty decent. I don’t know if the problem lies with Unity / Nintendo (And a newer version of Unity). The other possibility that the people Nintendo are getting to do this stuff can’t manage to do it properly (But small indie studios in the past could) is totally unacceptable to me.

Re: Best Nintendo Switch 2D Platformers

Kaze and the Wild Masks I think is a mess technically to the point I don’t find it enjoyable. I think Freedom Planet is an unfair comparison because that worked quite well. (I found the levels a bit long but it was definitely fun.)

Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair Is bad as well.

I have not looked to see if they work better on other platforms at all but I was disappointed to find those two not even close to the ones I already knew.

I just want no slowdown / dropped frames. No load times.

It looks to me as if Nintendolife has lowered the bar quite a bit for the more recent releases.
