Anyone know if VRR is handheld only ? (I have a lg cx) I have seen it referred to as gsync which seems to mean a few different things. I also don’t know if 1080/120 is possible docked or not.
The game is not good. There is hardly any NPC’s and the story is dull as dishwater. (The skill that existed during the CHRONO Trigger/ ff6 era seems to have been lost).
@Willo567 The problem is Nintendo does both. If they were still doing Nintendo selects it would be much fairer. Metroid Prime is the only consumer friendly thing I can think of them doing for a long time.
I think I will leave it for a bit. Not bothered about 3rd party. (Buying from Xbox via the Iceland Store seems to work out about the same as the Nintendo prices for indies even with a lower % discount).
Anything using Unity on switch 1 seems to run like crap. (Even HD Wii ports). Stuff seems to be getting worse over time not better when it comes to indie games. (I bought a load all 9/10 games from here and found 2/3 were what I consider not good enough technically to play). Now I tend to just get indies on series x.
I know it’s a long shot but I hope we get the selects range back once the switch 2 releases. (Quite a number of games I would rebuy digitally for convenience but not at full price).
I wonder how much money places like Cex have lost Nintendo over the switch lifetime.
I prefer Nintendo when they are trying harder. (I never experienced anything as badly done as DKCR/Links Awakening/Echo’s of Wisdom on Wii U - proper Nintendo games anyway).
The way they are going about the season pass means I won’t pay full price for it. Maybe I will get it when the whole thing drops to £20 or so. (I might have bought it at full price if there was none of the nonsensical situation of expecting people to pay for something in advance then not receive it for 6 months).
I played a lot of the Steam version of All Stars Racing Transformed but I couldn’t tolerate the Wii U or 360 versions. I suspect the switch version of this will be similarly disappointing. Might try this on Series X. (I think I played the Steam All Stars Racing Transformed for over 300 hours which is a lot for me I enjoyed it much more than Mario Kart 8 which I played quite a bit on Wii U and then bought but hardly touched on Switch).
If there was a way to remove the types of posts I consider spammy from the main Nintendolife site I might subscribe. Feels like we get 10 posts when 1 would have been fine. (Time Extension doesn’t have this problem).
So is the c button that was present in some of the leaks not real. (I nearly always play docked but I would like the option of the map Wii u style for some games)
@Joeynator3000 The Unity thing seems to explain a bit. But I am fairly sure on the Wii U stuff like Trine / Trine 2 used Unity and were pretty decent. I don’t know if the problem lies with Unity / Nintendo (And a newer version of Unity). The other possibility that the people Nintendo are getting to do this stuff can’t manage to do it properly (But small indie studios in the past could) is totally unacceptable to me.
It is disappointing that there are so many ports/remakes that have glitches on switch (1st party games). I can think of Links Awakening/Echo’s of Wisdom/Paper Mario (half frame rate)/ this.
Kaze and the Wild Masks I think is a mess technically to the point I don’t find it enjoyable. I think Freedom Planet is an unfair comparison because that worked quite well. (I found the levels a bit long but it was definitely fun.)
Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair Is bad as well.
I have not looked to see if they work better on other platforms at all but I was disappointed to find those two not even close to the ones I already knew.
I just want no slowdown / dropped frames. No load times.
It looks to me as if Nintendolife has lowered the bar quite a bit for the more recent releases.
It is not a well programmed game. (Neither is Links Awakening). I don’t know what should win it but at least The Lost Crown and Indiana Jones work properly.

Re: Donkey Kong: Bananza, A New 3D DK Adventure, Is Confirmed For Switch 2
I didn’t like dk64 find collectathons about as unfun as it can get. This looks like it might be okay though.
Re: The Switch 2's Screen Isn't OLED, But It Will Support 1080p/120fps Gameplay
Does it have vrr ? more bothered about that than theoretical 120fps

Re: PSA: Nintendo Reminds Us It's Winding Down Gold Points Next Week
@8bitKirby I can’t put up with the slowdown on those games. I think they were done on the cheap.

Is it true the switch version massively limits map size ?

@PineappleLake I bought your game on Steam (Mainly because you actually support my Intel Mac)

Re: Review: Donkey Kong Country Returns HD (Switch) - Aping A Retro Classic
The Wii U games (That were ported later to switch) were at least pretty good both times.
