Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 4th)

I was finally able to secure a copy of Star Ocean: The Second Story R so I'm mainly gonna be playing that!! It was sold out everywhere online and in gaming stores around me, but there was ONE copy left at a Best Buy in the city over so I leaped at the chance. Can't wait to play this game because the reviews have me so hyped.

@Ashfan2020 I've been playing the game since it came out and it's pretty fun! It does give low budget vibes, especially in the challenges, but it doesn't bother me that much. There's too much focus on the survival elements (like having to find wood, water, food) and you can't ignore them or you'll basically be med-evaced so that sucks. But I do enjoy the social and strategy elements they implemented! Hopefully there's enough sales to have a bigger budget for the next Survivor game.

I finally decided to go back to Xenoblade Chronicles 3 this weekend! I played it for about two months after it released and then just kinda stopped. It took me a bit to re-learn the mechanics and remember the story but I finished chapter 2 today and I'm absolutely loving it. Don't know why I ever stopped. Also decided to start Persona 5 Royal on the Switch after having it in my backlog since it released, so I'll have two massive JRPGs to play for awhile lol.

I just recently got Valthirian Arc: Hero School Story 2 and I’ve been having so much fun with it! It’s a great little low-budget sim game that I can play for a bit each day and that’s exactly what I was looking for. I also finally continued Danganronpa 2. I’m on chapter 3, and about to start the class trial. SO sad about one of the deaths that happened this chapter. ☹️

I just finished The DioField Chronicle, which I had a lot of fun with! The combat was awesome and I think it’s a very pretty game visually. I just wish the story and characters lived up to the same standards. So now I’m gonna put my efforts back into Triangle Strategy, which is an absolutely amazing game!

Mostly I’ll be playing the new games I got for Christmas: Pokémon Violet, The DioField Chronicle, Dragon Quest Treasures, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, and Harvestella! Right now The DioField Chronicle has my attention the most. The story is a bit forgettable but the gameplay loop really is addictive. I’ll also probably continue chapter 9 of Triangle Strategy which is absolutely amazing.

I’m trying to finish some games on my backlog before Christmas! I finally went back to Triangle Strategy and I’m obsessed. I’ve played through the first 6 chapters and I’m not slowing down yet. I also wanna continue Danganronpa 2, which I just finished chapter 2 of. The last case was really good so I have high hopes for chapter 3!

Re: You Can Get Your 'Year In Review' Nintendo Switch Stats Now For 2022

My top 5 most-played games for the year:

Dead By Daylight (324 hours)
Bravely Default II (47 hours)
Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy (46 hours)
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Anniversary Edition (31 hours)
Fire Emblem: Three Houses (25 hours)

No 2022 releases made it, but at least I finished a bunch of games from my 2021 backlog lol! Next year I'll finally get to Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Triangle Strategy, and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes.

I just finished my second playthrough of Fire Emblem: Three Houses and decided to marry Claude at the end! Now I can finally start Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, which I’m excited about. I’ll also probably go back to another game in my backlog, Danganronpa 2. I’m on Chapter 2 of that game and just got to the Deadly Life section.

I'm still enjoying my new games a lot! I'm trying to unlock the Pro League for all the sports right now in Nintendo Switch Sports. My brother and I are getting our club going in Mario Strikers: Battle League, and trying to get the hang of this incredibly complex gameplay. And I'm finally diving into Xenoblade Chronicles 3! I'm only a few hours in so far but it's already super interesting.

It’s my birthday this week, and I just got some new games, so I’m going to be diving into those this weekend! Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is my new big solo game and I could not be more excited. The first two games are some of my absolute favorite games on Switch. I also got Mario Strikers: Battle League and Nintendo Switch Sports which I’m really excited to play with my friends online.

Since finishing Atelier Ryza 2 a bit ago, I’ve been jumping around between a few games: Fire Emblem: Three Houses (working through my second route before I dive into Three Hopes), Rune Factory 5 when I’m in the mood for something more chill, and I also just recently picked up Atelier Sophie 2. I was really missing the Atelier series game loop. It’s so addicting!

I went back to Atelier Ryza 2 recently and I forgot how addicting the gameplay loop is! I’ve been playing that nonstop. When I get bored of that I’ll play chapter 2 of Triangle Strategy. Hopefully I can finish a few chapters in that game. I’ll also play a bunch of Dead By Daylight with friends as usual. The new Sadako Rising chapter has been really cool.

Re: Best Detective Games On Nintendo Switch

The fact that Layton's Mystery Journey is the only Layton game on Switch still is a tragedy! I did enjoy that game a lot to be honest, but Professor Layton is one of my favorite series and I hate how dormant it's been since the 3ds ended.
