Re: Here Are The Top Ten Best-Selling Nintendo Switch Games As Of June 2021

gamingxaidan

I own 6 of the games. I don't own either Pokémon games (tried past games and couldn't really get into it), Ring Fit Adventure, or Splatoon 2 (probably gonna just wait for 3 at this point). I really like all the games I do own from this list, though I am glad Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is 1st over Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It's an okay game, for sure, but not so great that I think it should be the best selling Switch game.

Re: Nintendo Shares Updated Release Schedule For 2021 And Beyond

gamingxaidan

I can't wait for Mario Party Superstars! It's something I'm sure a bunch of my friends and I will all pick up, so I'm sure we'll have a lot of fun with it. I'll also definitely get Project Triangle Strategy, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, and Breath of the Wild 2. There are some great first party releases on the horizons (for my taste at least).

Re: Soapbox: In Praise Of Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Two Years On

gamingxaidan

My favorite Switch game and Fire Emblem game! I loved the cast of characters and the replayability with 3 different houses made the game that much more worth it to me. I'm on my second playthrough now (Golden Deers, I did Black Eagles the first time) and it's amazing how fresh it feels despite the early battles being the same. I also thought the social sim stuff was done well, and I actually came to really like all of my troops by the end of the game. This game also basically got me into the RPG genre because I loved it so much, so I'll always be thankful to it for that as well. I just hope the next Fire Emblem game can match this quality!

Re: Fuka & Desco Get A Flashy Trailer For Disgaea 6: Defiance Of Destiny DLC

gamingxaidan

@gcunit I think the game's performance issues have been overblown completely. Yes, Quality mode doesn't run that well, and yes, Performance mode doesn't look great, but Balanced mode is completely fine, both visually and performance-wise. I never really had any issues on that mode, and I played the game all the way through. The performance is definitely not bad enough that I think anyone should pass up on the game because of it. But that's just my opinion.

Re: Talking Point: What's Your Switch Game Of 2021 So Far?

gamingxaidan

@Paraka Oh, don't get me wrong, 4 is still my favorite game in the series as well! The overall cast in that game can't be topped for me. 6 might be my second favorite though. I really liked how the big numbers gave a consistent sense of progression, even though I saw some just calling it inflation and pointless. I thought it was cool seeing my level go up by so much after every battle.

Re: Talking Point: What's Your Switch Game Of 2021 So Far?

gamingxaidan

@Paraka The quality of life changes for Disgaea 6 were just so welcome for me. I still love the other 3 entries I've played, but this one was definitely the most streamlined which I liked. I also thought the story was probably one of the better ones from the series. Some of the plot twists ACTUALLY shocked me, like who the main villain ended up being.

Re: Talking Point: What's Your Switch Game Of 2021 So Far?

gamingxaidan

I gotta go with Disgaea 6 so far. I was eagerly awaiting a new entry in the series and it did not disappoint! Bravely Default II is great as well, probably my other pick. Once I play Ys IX, Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, and Monster Hunter Stories 2, my mind could change though. I've been eagerly waiting to play those games.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 24th)

gamingxaidan

I finished Dragon Quest XI finally this past week, so now I'm on to other games! It was absolutely amazing, and definitely one of my favorite games on the Switch. Now I'm gonna put my focus on Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny. I'm currently on episode 6, and while it definitely isn't my favorite entry in the series, it's been pretty enjoyable. I'll probably also play some Dead By Daylight and Mario Golf: Super Rush with my friends.

Re: Disgaea Series Hits 5 Million Sales

gamingxaidan

I'm very happy for Nippon Ichi Software. I got into this series after getting my Switch and it's definitely one of my favorite tactical RPG series now. I think my favorite game would have to be 4, because Valvatorez is my favorite protagonist, and I really like the dynamics between the whole cast of that game, but I enjoyed 1 and 5 a lot too. I've been playing 6 since I got it last week, and it's been quite fun as well. I know people complained a lot about performance, but on balance mode it's basically been fine for me. Hopefully this series still has a long future ahead of it! Its wacky humor is something I really value in a genre that sometimes takes itself too seriously.

Re: Talking Point: Everyone Has A Bad Game They Love, So What's Yours?

gamingxaidan

I loved Goosebumps Horrorland on the Wii, and put so many hours into it. The game reviewed terribly, but for some reason it was so much fun for my siblings and I to play. The little minigames were hit or miss, but I genuinely enjoyed trying to get the medals on them, and some of the story was actually pretty good. It would be cool if it was remastered someday, but I highly doubt it would ever happen.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 17th)

gamingxaidan

I finished Act 2 of Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition today, so I'm gonna get to work on Act 3 this weekend! When I'm playing with friends, I'll jump between Mario Golf: Super Rush and Dead By Daylight. If I have any extra time, I'll keep working on Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny, which I'm thoroughly enjoying so far.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 3rd)

gamingxaidan

I'm going to continue playing lots of Mario Golf: Super Rush with my friends, a few more of whom have picked up the game since last week. It would be fun to actually dive into the story mode this weekend as well. I also want to get back into Dragon Quest XI and make a lot of progress on it if I can.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 26th)

gamingxaidan

I bought Mario Golf today at Gamestop, so I’m definitely going to be devoting most of my gaming time to it this weekend. I already played a few hours today, and it was really fun, especially when I played some matches with my friend who also has the game. In addition to that, I’ll probably play a couple rounds of Super Mario Party with my friend who just got a Nintendo switch today, and make a little more progress into Dragon Quest XI. I finished act one of the game and am doing the little sections of all the party members on their own now. I definitely won’t be bored this weekend, that’s for sure!

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of Nintendo Direct At E3 2021?

gamingxaidan

It was a great presentation. A bunch of surprises and great games. I can't wait for Mario Party Superstars, and even though it's a cloud version, I'll definitely get Guardians of the Galaxy on switch! I was so disappointed watching Square Enix's presentation because I figured it wouldn't come to switch, so I'm very happy it is.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 12th)

gamingxaidan

I'm gonna be continuing my my two current main games, Dragon Quest XI and Atelier Ryza 2. Both have been really fun so far. Happy E3 weekend, everyone! I'm so hyped that I'll actually be waking up early to watch the presentations, which is very odd for me lol. Hopefully there will be some exciting and surprising announcements. Honestly, I just really want a new Fire Emblem or Xenoblade game to be announced, and I'd be happy. I'd even take Xenoblade Chronicles X for switch. Seeing Monolith Soft's new IP would be a treat as well!

Re: The Big 1.0.5 Story Of Seasons Patch Is Live In Japan: Here's What's Changed

gamingxaidan

I stopped playing this game for a while because I wanted to wait for the patch, so I could have the best experience possible. Most of my concerns have been addressed with this patch, so whenever it goes live here in North America, I'll jump back into the game! I'm looking forward to it, because I really did have fun with the game from what I played so far, but now it'll just be that much better.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (May 22nd)

gamingxaidan

I just finished Immortals Fenyx Rising today, clocking in at around 50 hours! Overall, I loved the game, especially the combat, narrative, exploration, and world/atmosphere. Some of the vaults definitely got on my nerves though. I'm going to take a little break before I start the DLCs, so I think I'll shift my focus onto Dragon Quest XI and Bravely Default II for this weekend. Turn-based games are exactly what I need right now. And hopefully if scheduling works out, I can finally test out Super Mario Party's online mode with some friends!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (May 15th)

gamingxaidan

I just restored Hephaistos's essence in Immortals Fenyx Rising (worst vault of the game yet in my opinion), so this weekend I'm gonna hopefully restores Ares's essence and defeat Typhon! In other news, I also finally ordered Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning, so I'm gonna start that once it arrives.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 24th)

gamingxaidan

@ItsATM Yes, I definitely agree about Immortals Fenyx Rising! I find myself getting lost in the world because there's so much to do. It's a really fun experience, and I hope it's an IP they make into a series, because there's so much different mythology they could pull from. Torna did get a little annoying with having to do so many side quests, but on the bright side, I didn't really have to grind at all since I gained so many levels from doing all of them. I usually just watched tv in the background while I was doing side quests to pass the time lol!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 16th)

gamingxaidan

@charlieonholiday I played the Definitive Edition of 1`on Switch and it was amazing! I loved 2 as well, and Torna is fun from what I've played so far. Xenoblade is definitely one of my favorite series now I can't wait to see what Monolith Soft's next game will be. Regardless I'll buy it! I have a lot of hope for what they can do next. I do hope for Xenoblade Chronicles 3 soon too though!!
