Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (23rd May)

I’m up to 44 Miis in Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream now! My recent Miis are still kinda disconnected from the island social scene so my main goal for the weekend is to forge more friendships! I also reached day 89 in The Hundred Line - Last Defense Academy, the story’s gotten even crazier! I’m paranoid about everyone, I just want to know who betrayed us and Hiruko.

I passed the 35 Mii threshold and got the final island expansion in Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream earlier this week. This weekend I’ve been creating more Miis, including Phoenix Wright and Miles Edgeworth. My ultimate goal is to make around 65 Miis and leave room for just a few kids. There’s really nothing interesting about the baby raising in this entry so I’d rather leave room for more friendships and couples to form. I’m also gonna continue The Hundred Line - Last Defense Academy. I’m still on Day 78 but I’m excited to see where things go!

My main gaming goal for the weekend is to reach 35 islanders in Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream so I can get the final island expansion! Right now I have 25 Miis. I'm still having a blast with the game and I've definitely gotten some cool new cutscenes over the last week. I'm at day 78 right now in The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy and I'm trying upgrade class weapons and report cards as much as I can before I get to day 100. Hopefully I'll be ready 😅

This weekend I played from about Day 60 to Day 70 in The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy. The story's really gotten exciting and I can't wait to see what happens at Day 100! My Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream island is also growing nicely, I just got the second island expansion for 20 islanders. I'm having so much fun building the web of character relationships slowly.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream?

10 out of 10. I've been having so much fun setting up my island since I got the game! The friend/relationship system is SO much deeper than the 3DS game and I feel like there's a good mix of customization vs personality here. Whereas Animal Crossing New Horizons leaned fully into customization, I think Living the Dream still has lots of enjoyable character moments.

Re: Best Animal Crossing Games Of All Time

I've played New Leaf, Happy Home Designer, Amiibo Festival, and New Horizons, and New Leaf is definitely my favorite! There was more to unlock and a great sense of progression with all the different stores you could unlock and earn different upgrades for. The island tour minigames were a blast to play with friends. The villagers had more personality. New Horizons did up the customization a lot with terraforming but that wasn't my favorite feature honestly. I hope they balance personality and customization better in the next entry.

I've been mostly dabbling in different games the last couple of months to see if any of them stuck with me. I went back to Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Persona 5 Royal, and Fantasy Life i and made decent progress in each. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Persona 5 Royal were also amazing showcases for the new handheld boost mode, they look absolutely stunning now! When I started Romancing SaGa 2 this weekend, I was hooked. I'm a sucker for these AA RPGs from Square Enix such as Bravely Default and Trials of Mana and I can see myself getting similarly sucked into this game.

I finished The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III this weekend after 95+ hours! It was an absolute blast. I loved the combat, story, and worldbuilding. I'll definitely play Cold Steel IV and the rest of the series eventually, but I'm gonna take a break so I don't get burnt out on it.
I spent the rest of my weekend dabbling in different games to see what I wanted to play next. I completed a chapter of Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, but I'm still not fully sold on the combat system. The management mid-battle is a bit overwhelming but I'm hoping it'll click with me soon because I love the Three Houses cast and universe and wanna see where the story goes.

I've had a blast with my first Trails game, Trails of Cold Steel III, but I'm about ready to wrap it up and move onto my next big RPG. I'm almost done with chapter 4 and then I just have one more chapter left, so hopefully I can finish it this weekend! Wizard 101 also just released on Switch and it's been a blast so far. If anyone has been wanting a fun MMORPG on Switch, look no further.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch Year In Review 2025 - Our Most Played Games

gamingxaidan

My top 3 most played games were

Dead By Daylight (111 hours)
Super Mario Party Jamboree (59 hours)
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III (59 hours)

Surprised to see Unicorn Overlord didn't make the list since I finished that this year, but I'm sure it as a close 4th! I'm happy I finally made some progress on my backlog this year.

It's my birthday this weekend so I got a bunch of new games for my Switch 2 that I'm excited to try out: Donkey Kong Bananza, Split Fiction, and Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition. I've also been slowly playing through The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy and having a blast. I'm on day 33 and I love the combat and story so far.

I finally went back to Atelier Ryza 3 after a long break because I wanna finish it before playing Atelier Yumia! I'm loving this game overall, although 15 hours in I think I still prefer the story from the second game. Hopefully it gets more interesting as I go on. I'll also probably play some Super Mario Party Jamboree with friends

Re: Best Nintendo Switch Games Of 2024

Unicorn Overlord #1!! So well deserved. Happy to see Super Mario Party Jamboree crack the top 15 at least, and Dragon Quest III definitely deserves its top 10 spot. Can't wait to give Ys X a try when I finally get it.

Re: Your 'Nintendo Switch Year In Review 2024' Stats Are Available Now

gamingxaidan

372 hours played this year, up from 282 hours last year!
My top 3 games were
1. Dead By Daylight (171 hours)
2. Fortnite (77 hours)
3. Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy (24 hours)

I had a lot of fun playing Switch this year. I wish I had really gotten into Unicorn Overlord earlier in the year because it would easily be in my top-played games if December was included.

Re: Best Mario Party Games Of All Time

Mario Party 8 is so underrated. It's easily one of my favorites in the series, along with Super Mario Party Jamboree. I liked Superstars and the first Super Mario Party a lot, but it felt like something was missing from them still.

It's my birthday weekend and I got some new Switch games as presents that I can't wait to play!!

  • Princess Peach: Showtime!
  • One Piece Odyssey
  • The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV
  • The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak

I've played a few stages of Peach's game so far and it's super cute! I also wanna give One Piece Odyssey a go at some point this weekend. I'll have to wait to start the two Trails games until I finish Cold Steel III, but I'm super excited to play them eventually.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (20th July)

I've officially dived into The Legend of Heroes series on Switch with Cold Steel III! I originally wanted to play Cold Steel I & II first but I got tired of waiting for Switch ports and just read the backstory section in the game instead. I finished the prologue and am a good way into chapter 1 and I'm having a blast. Can't wait to play the rest of this series over the next few years!

Re: Nintendo Direct February 2024: Every Announcement, Game Reveal, Trailer

I'm happy to finally have a release date for the new Fantasy Life game, even if it is later than I would have hoped. I still have a huge backlog though so it's not the end of the world lol! Cool to see Epic Mickey come back as well. I was already sold on Unicorn Overlord but I was happy to see another trailer. Also, I can't wait to play Monster Hunter Stories when it launches. I loved the sequel and I'm hoping the original is just as good.
