I've been playing a lot of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 this week, and I only have a couple chapters left, so I'd love to get that finished and start on Torna. I also got Atelier Ryza 2 this past week so I'm gonna be diving into that and I'm super excited!
I've still had fun with the game so far, but makers have been pretty tedious, so I'm really glad to see that patch will be coming soon that will fix them. I love how they're also committed to fixing the dialogue, and the game itself, rather than only performance issues and bugs, because that's just as important in my opinion!
I'm gonna be playing Xenoblade Chronicles 2 mostly, because the game really "clicked" for me recently and I'm enjoying it a lot. I'll also play some Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town when I'm in the mood for something more chill. And if I have time, I'll jump into Immortals Fenyx Rising for a bit!
I've never really had any performance issues when I play Fortnite on switch, but this update looks great! Always love more crisp visuals whenever I can get them.
This is my first Story of Seasons game, and despite some of the issues, I've been really enjoying it so far, so I'm glad it's doing well! The general dialogue of the NPCs is quite boring, but I've liked the heart scenes so far so I'll just keep giving gifts to people so i can see them.
Now that I finished Trials of Mana last week, I'm planning to dive into Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town this weekend. I've had a lot of fun with my first few hours of the game! I'll also keep playing Xenoblade Chronicles 2 when I'm in the mood for a more exciting game
Tortimer's Island is what I want the most! A bunch of my friends have the game and I would love more to be able to do with them. I'd also love more special characters, including Brewster, and more shops to unlock! I'd even take just another upgrade for the Nookling shop.
Even though Pokemon has never been one of my favorite series, something about PokePark 1 and 2 were so fun to me! I wish they'd remaster those for switch or make a new game in the series.
I finished Ys VIII this week (great game), so now I'm gonna be shifting my focus towards Trials of Mana. I'd like to finish it before Legends of Mana comes out so I can get that game
Nobody has mentioned in thus far, but the worst part of New Horizons for me is the lack of multiplayer content! I put 260 hours into New Leaf (my most played 3ds game), largely because there was always something new to unlock, but also, because there was always something to do with friends. Going to Tortimer's Island with friends and doing tours was a blast, or even just going with random people online! It was always a fun time. Many of my friends have New Horizons, and we played it together maybe once or twice, because there's really not much to do besides look at each other's islands. I still have hope that they will add the island in an update maybe this summer, but it's kinda ridiculous to constantly advertise New Horizons as a multiplayer game when there's basically nothing to do with each other! Also, I loved the game at first, but it is a bit disappointing that all the updates have just been more items to craft/collect, or more things to design with, when I was never crazy about all that in this game. I wish they did more well-rounded updates!
@Yhdekskymmenen People it would be insulting to, simply don't need to have a same sex marriage in the game. However, there are many LGBTQ+ people, including myself, that would like those options, and it's insulting that it was removed "because of COVID". Representation matters.
@GC-161 This is kinda random, but I just want to say every time I see your profile picture, it makes me think there's a bug crawling on my screen, and I run to grab something to get it off. It's always so startling.
I ended up buying Bravely Default II today, so I’m gonna be playing that a lot this weekend! I’m making a lot of progress in Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana, so I’m gonna keep chipping away at that too. And if I have any extra time, I’ll continue my second playthrough of Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Lots of great games to play this weekend
In all seriousness Monolith Soft is one of my favorite developers and I can't wait for whatever they cook up! They've made and helped with so many great games
@GalacticBreakdown I sided with the church the first time, only because I didn't talk to Edelgard that chapter so I wasn't even allowed to choose her route! Now I'm doing the other two casts so I can get a little break from the Black Eagles, and then I'll do the Edelgard route as my last playthrough. i've never been one to replay games multiple times, but I love the characters in this game, and want to play with all of them!! Hope you keep enjoying your first playthrough
I finished Disgaea 4 Complete+ last weekend, so now I'm gonna take a little break from that series. I'll mostly be focusing on Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana, and my second playthrough of Fire Emblem: Three Houses this weekend. I played with the Black Eagles cast my first time around, but the second time, playing with the Golden Deer cast, has still felt like such a fresh and exciting experience. It's definitely my favorite switch game.
This article was such a fun read. Pioneers of Olive Town is actually going to be my first Story of Seasons game and I can't wait. I already pre-ordered the physical version!
@zool I've only played 1 and 4 so far, but I definitely recommend starting at 1, because even going from 1 to 4 was a bit of a learning curve for me. Both games have great casts though, so you really can't go wrong regardless!
@The_Pixel_King Yeah, the water looks especially rough in handheld mode, but I haven't had any performance issues so I don't mind a little jankiness. Still a really fun game to me.
I'm mainly focusing on Disgaea 4 Complete+ this weekend because I'm trying to play all 3 of the games on switch before Disgaea 6 comes out in the summer. I'm having such a blast with the series! Besides that, I'll probably play a little bit of Ys VIII because I'm also trying to finish that before Monstrum Nox comes to switch.
I'm glad Xenoblade is getting the recognition it deserves! It's one of my favorite games of all-time now. Overall the rest of the top 10 is amazing too. 2020 was a great year for gaming, all things considered.
Been playing it on my phone since I don't have a gaming PC, so I'm especially excited for this! I played it for an hour earlier, and it's already such an upgrade visually, being a lot bigger. I also really appreciate how you can use buttons OR touchscreen for each task. I've been alternating between whichever feels right depending on the task and it's much more fun than on mobile. Only somewhat annoying thing is typing, but I'm getting faster typing with the touchscreen lol.
I don't mind that it's similar to BOTW since that's regarded as amazing. I still think I'll have a good time with this game, because I'm usually not as harsh in my opinions as other gamers lol.
I'm glad it looks good on switch because I already pre-ordered it there lol. This is going to be my big Christmas game, and I can't wait to get into it!!
I finally joined the switch world this year! Much later than I would've liked but at least I had an assortment of great games to buy from my day one, aka August 2020 lol.
More developers need to give the Switch a chance! It's a great market. As for the game, I'm just waiting to see a review before I decide whether I'm getting it or not, but I'm definitely interested.
This is definitely one of my favorite switch games thus far! I loved everything about it, and I just hope the next main series entry will be able to live up to it.
I didn't play the original but this looked interesting... just not sure if I can justify the $60 price when there's other games I want much more currently. Maybe I'll get it on a sale if that ever happens.
I personally use the handheld more when playing individually, because I guess I'm used to doing so from the DS and 3Ds. But playing docked is ABSOLUTELY necessary for multiplayer in my opinion, so I don't understand how anyone could argue we should get rid of that feature. Plus, when a game has really good graphics it's amazing to see them on a bigger screen!
I've never played this series but I've always wanted to get into it. Can any fan of the series tell me where a good place to start is with the games available on the switch?
