Re: Sonic X Transformers Collab Officially Teased, Photos Leaked Online

@Not_Soos @JimmyFleck Actually the toy selling was because there was a law change that originally prohibited to advertising directly to kids. once the law came off the books in the very late 70’s, it was a wrap and that is what let to the plethora of 80’s cartoons made with the idea of selling toys to kids. In essence, they were half hour commercial blocks with toy commercials playing every 15 mins. “The Transformers will Return After These Messages”, played so much that to this day I can still recall it. “And now We Return to the Transformers”
And then the Public Service Announcements, which were government mandated back then. GI JOE made them famous because of the slogan “Now you know and knowing is half the battle, GI JOEEE!!!”

In many way, we were indoctrinated.

Re: Californian Law Dictates Storefronts Be Honest About Digital Game Ownership

fpcreator2000

A lot of people are talking about "I get to own the content forever". That is not true. What the law mentions is that it tells digital storefronts to tell people upfront that what they are buying is a "license to use" and not a "license to own". This is the whole reason so many people buy physical games, and why Limited Run and similar operations are becoming more popular.

@Don Not really, as Steam requires online connectivity every so often to be able to play games and offline mode requires reconnecting to the servers after a certain amount of time.

As for the consoles of today? as long as you don't delete your content from the console, you should be fine. But, future updates and consoles may come with the ability to delete content remotely as Google has done for malicious apps in the past.

Re: Video: Early Gameplay Of Sega Revival Projects Leak Online

Streets of Rage Revival? How about letting the studio that made 4 make a 5th entry because that game was a Chef's Kiss.

And I can get down with a Shinobi remake since the 3ds version was beautiful and faithful to the 3rd game, but why no love for Shadow Dancer: Secret of Shinobi?

That dude screaming Sega at the end make me feel al warm and fuzzy inside. This want's to make me say "Welcome back Sega! Welcome back!"

Re: Surprise! New Splatoon 3 amiibo Are On The Way

fpcreator2000

@Zeldinion Right!? Now I need to dust off my Splatoon 3 just like I did Animal Crossing after discovering I can open more stores in Harv’s Island. With my backlog hell, I definitely need to go back and revisit Splatoon.

Edit: apologies for the thumbs down as i have big fat fingers. Tried to undo it but it does not seem to take.

Re: SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos Announced For Nintendo Switch

fpcreator2000

@LadyCharlie it more from my generation back in the day as the game came a few years after Capcom vs SNK 2 and was released on the at the time aging hardware of the Neo Geo. I was one of the last great Neo Geo title to be released for arcades. The game is good but it was late on delivery. It was SNK’s fault but at the same time, SNK was going through a lot of crap at during that time since it closed the got bought and finally was purchased back by some of the original staff members that revived the company to the good ol’ SNK we knew and loved. I think if given the chance again, SNK can make a much better snk vs capcom game.

Not to mention that the handheld Match of the Millenium was the superior game that was short lived due to the demise of the ngpc and snk.

Re: Random: "Barren" Pokémon Expo Is The Game Industry's 'Willy Wonka Experience'

@Ryu_Niiyama This! My company holds events yearly, and it’s a complete production behind the scenes even though it is mostly an academic conference with speakers presenting papers, but making sure all the speakers are going to show up and having plan b, c and d for those speakers that can’t show up. Not to mention, any extra event, such as keynotes and receptions have to be handled like mini-events.

Good intentions can only take you so far.

As for the ravioli sauce hobo? The event organizers need to iron out dress code and harassment policies. Talking about policies, consent policies for filming and taking pictures need to be added front and center on the reg. form. If you as an organize intend to document your event, you need to add an opt-in consent checkbox that is requires to register. Keep it open and honest.
