@LEGEND_MARIOID its a pretty elegant solution imo. I would rather they make it so any USB-C dock was compatible though.

@GinMiguel depends on the back compat situation. But assuming Switch 2 is early 2025 and has back compat, more ports are a great way to fill out the last 6 months of this year.

I think DLC is the way to go, but I have no issue with an ultimate version with (both) games and DLC for the physical collectors.
Although I think they should go to a single version, other than tradition (AKA gouging money from die hards and completionists) there doesnt seem to be a reason too these days.
I would rather they put more effort into a working game.

I’m happy with varied levels of polish, but they need to look at fairer pricing. Paper Mario a rare game that is difficult to own legally, with a pretty hefty remaster it is I think fair enough to charge for. But Luigi’s Mansion 2 is a piss take charging £20 more than the original release.

I loved wonder and I like they have taken a new approach. I’d like them to create another unique 2D game though, same way the 3D games have a hook.

@Angelic_Lapras_King Nintendo and Game Freak are why, there’s no plushies to sell you tied to it so they won’t release it. Nothing to do with gambling whatsoever

Average, but it really depends what they announce next. If we aren’t getting a Switch 2 this year and there’s not some more first party announcements before then it will feel like going out with a bit of a whimper.

I enjoyed Grounded when I tried it, but I do prefer these persistent games on the Switch so may well retry it.

@AstroTheGamosian maybe it’s just a case of expectation. A business update was never going to have blockbuster announcements, particularly as their hand was forced by leaks and a bit of internet hysteria.
It did what it needed to and calmed the rumour mill and pointed to exciting things coming up.

@AstroTheGamosian what were you expecting them to say out of interest that is more concrete?
4 games going multiplat(they mentioned partners announcing some of them snd the other consoles, so at least one is coming to switch)
Quelled rumours of Starfield/Indy going multi plat
Diablo dated for gamepass
New hardware coming this year
New games announced in June

That’s a lot of info for an adhoc event, but I do agree it did have a lot of management speak around it and the salient points could have been distilled into a tweet or press release.
But I think that might have been because they had to agree with Nintendo the messaging as they are the partner announcing at least one of them.

@SometimesGhost that wasn’t an announcement show, it was a “calm the f**k down internet” show.

But it does mean we are likely to get the rumoured partner direct fairly soon.

@UltimateOtaku91 the technical limitations are a poor excuse when you have things like the 2 Zelda games, Xenoblade 3, Witcher 3 and Hogwarts Legacy coming out.
The problem they have is their business model means they have to shovel out games to make money off of cards and plushies so can’t take the time to make a decent game.

If TPC made an open world pokemon game like this it would be huge.

Zelda 2 would be the ideal for a remake as its a bit of a forgotten game(compared to LoZ1, Awakening or LTTP).

RE would be my guess they’re on a pretty proficient run of RE games. Could be time for no.9, not sure if they could/would do a remake for 5 or 6

@sd7232 Retro Fighters did make something similar. Except it was a pack of Mini NES cartridges that you put Switch carts into. Completely pointless but brilliant all the same.

This thing looks great too, but it annoys me it seems that it is slightly smaller than a VHS.

@Olliemar28 but if they do that you want have to buy them all again! I am hopeful the rumours of it having a cartridge port are true and the same cart size!

@Axecon the name change is pretty well advertised(it was on the advertising screens at Premier League grounds for a lot of last season). It made news cycles too. And its not like it has a FIFA or anything else to compete with.

Indy or partner maybe, and a Pikmin one a bit later. Then hopefully more major announcements when they have their big in person event in September.

I didnt hate the idea of this until I read how bad the game playtested. A family game with mobile connectivity for multi player or multi screen options that is of the quality of wii sports would be fab. This is not that though, sadly

@Bolt_Strike I wasn't expecting one, I'd kind of assumed there event in September will be where any big announcements are made. Possibly with an indy or partner direct thrown in.

I dont really get these they look great and all, but why not have an actual playable Pac-Man cab?

I’d assume as Silksong is day one on gamepass it will be MS who gives an update(if it doesn’t come direct from the dev).

@VoidofLight yes if it had motion controls and HD rumble(which TotK is likely to utilise) I'd buy the compact joycons in a heartbeat

@Jacket_p DS are still really easy to pick up and other than a select few games aren’t too expensive yet.

I'd love to see more Zelda and Ganondorf and more Link variants.
Also the DK characters, they could even have a Diddy Kong Racing pack with tracks borrowed from there.

Never saw weapon degradation as an issue. In fact thought it added quite a lot to what the game was. It would be a shame to take it away.
What could be a good mechanism is the option to repair but have a point of no repair so if you let it fully break it’s gone.

@sanderev A tablet the same size as my phone at that. A Kishi would do the same thing paired with a phone and that potentially has data too.

Have I missed something or is it just a generic android device with a Kishi attached?

Cant complain at a free update, even if it sounds like the WC will be over before this comes out!

@Sisilly_G it looks extra stingy next to the Atari 50 that came out less than a week ago!

It needs more retro consoles, to be nearing the point where a Switch successor is likely to be announced and not have Gamecube or Gameboy series titles included is maddening. I can accept Wii or xDS games not appearing as it has physical restraints but they should ahve rounded out the service by now. Maybe a few Saturn and Dreamcast games too but I accept that could be more difficult.

@Dom_31 agreed I found it so off-putting as a kid I never played the early games.

@KindofaBigDeal agreed SA was a bit of a mess, but it was only 2 years after SM64 which is alos massively overrated. Any 3D platformer without a camera stick is just horrible.

@billiybob76 I wouldn’t expect them to change anything unless it’s the same day as the funeral but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was Nintendo out of any of them that did delay something out of respect. They seem to have that formal Japanese business culture about them and as a country (like us in the UK) that still have a head of state they would understand the poignancy of such an event.

I'd love to see them on their, but just hope this doesnt mean we are getting further delays on BotW2. Although I fear this may end up a cross-gen launch game for "Switch 2" rather like BotW did with Wii U/Switch.

@SteamEngenius I restarted my game collection with the Switch 4 years ago. MK11 is the only game I've traded in.
Edit to add I then rebought it on Xbox SX and the Ultimate version looks and plays stunningly well.

I’m convinced their won’t be one around not-E3/SGF they have a pretty solid line up for 2022 already assuming no slippage; Xenonlade 3, Bayonetta 3, Splatoon 3, New Pokémon. I think we’ll get one later in the year to promote those.

I’d love to see more on the Switch. I have Ultra SF2 and the collection already and would love to see maybe a 4 iteration(not a fan of 5) or a MvC game. Can’t see 6 going on Switch cloud streaming will be too laggy and the game would need to be nerfed for the new gen consoles to work.

Looks good, although all it did was remind me I want to play Cadence of Hyrule so I ordered that on cartridge!

Might get one or both, but not on the same cartridge.
I feel if it was ready both of these would have come out last year for the 35.
