Re: Nintendo Showcases Every Switch And Switch 2 Partner Direct Game In New Infographic

On reflection I thought that Direct was ok in terms of there are a fair few games I want to play, just most of that had already been announced. A lot of people seem to think this was in part fulfilling contractual obligations for some of those games and we will see other third parties (like the 2 Fromsoft games) in the proper direct.

@foursider in fairness there are a decent number of new games on that list. Just that most of them we'd already seen.

I’d like to see more new games announced as coming to Switch 2 alongside the other platforms. We’ve got a fair few already but would like more. I’m ok with ports too but I’d rather they stuck to a few big hitters. For example as much as I love them Capcom have 2 Resi ports on top of the new game. They don’t need more! But E33 is a great announcement. Same with Kingdom Hearts that as a port could be a tweet unless their is a trailer for 4 at the same time.

Re: The Fable Reboot Is Reportedly "Under Consideration" For Switch 2

I'm surprised Forza wasn't announced, considering the Switch 2 is doing record numbers in Japan and that is where the game is set.

I think with both a Switch port is possible the biggest issue is likely to be the sheer size of these games. I loaded Horizon 5 onto my ROG Ally and it was 140GB(appreciate this isnt optimised like a Switch game would be) and FH6 is 5 times larger!

@PikaPhantom I would love to see Trails a Fantasy Life in their have and continue to enjoy both immensely. But while they(Trails particularly) have reviewed well it’s hard to say they’ve captured any real momentum outside of their core audiences. They’d probably have more of a case if it wasn’t such a strong year.

@Jeronan no you’re not explaining anything you’re just trying to be right by moving the goalposts.
PS Cyberpunk has max brightness, midpoint, pq saturation and white levels. But again PQ on/off is still a control, rather than no control which apparently no game had a few posts ago.
TBH I don’t think we’re that far apart you just need to stop speaking in absolutes when that’s not what you mean.

@Jeronan you are as we weren’t talking about the ability to adjust. You said “there is no HDR in handheld mode”, that is categorically false and has been disproven. It then morphed into its not “true” HDR, while that may be correct it is more subjective. But for clarity the minimum requirement to be HDR is 400 nits, the Switch 2 screen is 450. As sub standard as edge lit may be for some it is still technically HDR.
Now turning off HDR absolutely does make a difference, it may be slight in some cases(particularly in first party games) but it is there.
Also having little no control over your settings is annoying but is an incredibly Nintendo thing to do. And the lack of controls doesn’t dictate if it is HDR or not, it just mean the big N thinks it knows better than you.
Lastly the first 3rd party game I tried CP2077 has HDR controls.

Obviously Switch 2 on an OLED TV is far better but it’s disingenuous to suggest it isn’t there in handheld.

Re: Capcom Spotlight Announced For Next Week, Here's A Teaser Trailer

@gb_nes_gamer Im sure they will, they already have two games out. My only pause is if their is value in them doing a big drop of back catalogue. RE9 looks like it could run on Switch 2 as we know RE engine is running well for SF6, if that happens do they want to cannibalise sales by dropping 2,3,4,7,& 8 in one go.
I'm sure they'll want Monster Hunter too. Could be they space it out a bit more.
