I didn't realize that Nintendolife hired fanfic writers, thought it was all journalism here. Well if you hire fanfic writers, I can easily spin a BS yarn myself, consider offering me a position!
Reasonably, what would work best while retaining the massive roster of Ultimate would be to simply make an expanded enhanced Deluxe version of Ultimate. And if any changes were made that interfered with the established game (like say making Waluigi a fighter), then find an equivalent exchange that only aesthetically changes the established game (like in that same situation, going on to replace the Waluigi assist trophy with another Mario character that could essentially do the same thing, like say (super deep cut, but some relevance today thanks to the movie) foreman Spike from Wrecking Crew).
It probably wouldn't be all that difficult for Nintendo too put an emphasis that Switch 1 owners should consider keeping their first model system so that it can connect with the Switch 2 to be used as a second screen controller. Additionally, they probably could make an adapter that would connect a Switch 1 or Switch OLED screen with the Switch 2 to function in handheld mode, much like the DS and 3DS. I mean they should be smart if they went this route, so that a second screen is never necessary, but always optional to enhance an experience if desired.
Well now that the Nintendo/LEGO partnership has expanded beyond Mario, this gives me a lot of hope that we're going to see Zelda LEGO sets sooner than later here.
I wouldn't be shocked if these services remain active for quite a few years to come. Pokemon is it's own separate weird head to Nintendo that plays by its own rules, and when one single device can officially transfer pokemon from the OG Gen 1-2, and 4-7 games (gen 4 having to jump through some hoops to get to a player's game where they can get into Bank, and gen 1 and 2 having to be the VC releases for the 3DS) to the modern environment when nothing else really can, they're going to want to keep that kind of service alive until the modern solutions accommodate for all these past gens as well. (As an aside, a hacked 3DS can easily transfer pokemon from all of the first 7 gen games (gen 3 included) into Bank, all the more exemplifying how important that single handheld and its online functionality is to the entire franchise (at this point anyway)).
Whether it 'needs' it or not. I would bet good money that it'll have it. I mean here's an obvious example of how it will certainly have backwards compatibility: the digital apps like the Switch Online apps, do we really think they're going to have to start over from square 1 with all of those, and we'll have to wait 6 more years before GB and GBA get added into the Switch 2 with new versions that would perform more or less the same as they do on the Switch 1? Gimme a break.
Van Gogh only sold one painting in his lifetime. I can't imagine that he could ever fathom how influential and popular his works would become. I mean here we are in the 21st century and the most profitable media brand in the world is collaborating with your works of art. And that's just kinda par for the course when it comes to his works these days.
Even if Nintendo ever did find themselves in a situation where they desire to sell off the entire company, I just can't fathom that they'd ever do so with an American company. Nintendo is hugely important to the culture of Japan, and Japan is pretty protective and proud of their creations in general; and you can certainly sense that this is in line with the ideals over at Nintendo as well. So even if the price were more than right, I just can't envision that timeline where Microsoft actually purchases Nintendo; seems too far removed from the possibilities of this universe to ever play out in front of us.
Neat little bonus. But I think I'm gonna just save $10 on the game by doing the voucher program again and get it digitally along with Mario RPG which I also save $10 on. Since I was gonna get both anyway.
I wish we could get more Bomberman adventure games like both of the 64 games or even Hero. The traditional experience in R is fine, and in fact great to see after the series was questionable when HAL went under, but you play one of those kinds of games, you've played them all. The adventure titles were so much more interesting and fun.
@Saturn64 Considering Disney now owns Doug, that's never going to happen.
I don't get how there is still no Fairly Oddparents representation. I know there are licensing issues there too, but we aren't talking about a Disney sized-wall with that franchise, and characters from that series have appeared in many Nick games before as well.
I'd also think that there should be a Chalkzone rep by this point as well.
@Atariboy well that site is wrong, seriously, look deeper into it. It's the AC adapters for sure, and it's not hard at all to understand why.
When my buddy's Switch bricked when only connected to a third party charging cable and no dock in use at all. That was all the proof I needed. But again it's really not hard to understand why, not all USB-C charges are built the same at all. I bet if you try any 3 random charges with your phone, you'll find that they all give different charging times to reach 100%. That's the key right there. That website you linked is both outdated and honestly dangerous for this topic at hand.
Glad to see it, though I wish they'd give us more than one game at a time. And for that matter when they did give us 2 with Mario Party and Mario Party 2, why didn't they also give us 3 at the same time? The moves they make, so confusing sometimes. But I guess I get it, there probably isn't a ton of games that will be added to N64 online given its smaller library to begin with. Still, I'm greedy and I want more now lol.
@IceClimbersMain it has long since been discovered that it wasn't the third party docks bricking the Switchs, it was the third party AC adapters that were doing it. Use this dock with the official Switch AC adapter and you won't brick.
It's not the same artstyle that upsets me here, because its not like Cuphead owns that oldschool aesthetic, in fact all they were doing was imitating old art themselves. No, what bothers me is that it's the same exact gameplay as Cuphead on top of having the same kind of artstyle. It's about as close to plagiarism of a game as you get without being a true direct copy, there is no shame here. You know what I would respect though? Taking this kind of artstyle and making like a Metroidvania or like a Sonic-speed kind of platformer. That would be so much more interesting and so much less of a direct ripoff.
I'm gonna say that no matter what, even though you don't see many people mentioning or focusing on this, the Switch 2 should include a sensor bar. Too many games continue to release for the system that make use of pointer features in one way or another, and while gyro-pointing with the ability to re-center certainly works; it's a poor substitute for what a sensor bar with an IR pointer can accomplish instead (oh yeah and I guess you gotta build IR pointers into the new joy-con and feasibly pro controllers too, but that should be feasible all the same).
Oh snap, I'm gonna have to grab Doom Eternal at $10, that's insane. Still haven't beat Doom (2016) though, I think I got like halfway through. Perhaps I'll pick that up again now that I finally beat TOTK.
I dunno to what extent they intend to add DLC to TOTK compared to BOTW; but I do believe that no matter what, a Master Mode being added into TOTK is inevitable and will happen, even if they have no other DLC intentions this time.
That's because Picross was never huge across the world and has gotten even less and less appealing in time as greater more engaging puzzle games have come out, and continued releases of classics like Tetris ensures that the greatest in the genre aren't going anywhere either. You might as well be trying to pitch a new Pong game with a Nintendo crossover, there simply isn't going to be a whole lot of interest.
@Prizm Well if it was better in how rarely the legendary Pokemon were distributed, than the Author shouldn't be saying that 'Catching legendary Pokemon the 'old-fashioned way' was so much better.' Bad topic title if what they only meant was that the frequency in which these Pokemon were distributed was 'better'. However, actually reading the article indicates that is not the only point here at all. My critique was correct, the Author actually thought the means to obtain these legendary Pokemon back then was 'better' even though for so many reasons, it wasn't better. It was more of an 'experience' I guess in how you had to physically go somewhere or even more far back, physically send your game away, but again to claim that was 'better' is just a longing on the author's part to a feeling in their past that they can't recreate. They've let nostalgia cloud their judgement for what is actually a more streamlined experience that anyone with an internet experience can take part in, instead of having much larger physical barriers in order to obtain the latest legendary Pokemon on offer.
Better? Or simply nostalgic? Because the fact that in the earliest days you actually had to send your game away to get the legendary does not sound like any kind of improvement over the modern way. And then having to travel to the likes of a GameStop was a pretty lame barrier to it all as well, especially when many of the players of these games were children who couldn't simply drive to GameStop on a whim, and many likely struggled to convince their parents why they had to go stop at a GameStop just to get a free piece of digital data.
Like hey, I get if you have fond memories of this stuff. But to proclaim these outdated ways were 'better' feels awfully ignorant and flat-out wrong to me.
It's probably not on the agenda, but it would really help the next system stand apart from the original Switch if they gave the device the ability to play in glasses-free 3D like the 3DS. I would so love to see games like Tears of the Kingdom played in that way. Would also help give an additional appeal to playing handheld instead of docked.
"And why is it called 'Switch 2'?! Nintendo's more creative than that."
I'm praying that Nintendo does call the next system the Switch 2 if it is indeed the improved Switch that we all figure it will be. Let's avoid the tragedy that was the naming of the Wii U. Guarantee that system would have performed at least a bit better if Nintendo simply called it the Wii 2.
Would be so cool if this came out as like a 2-in-1 pack with Super Mario Wonder. I know that'll never happen, but they're gonna be coming out at just the same time, might as well just bundle them together to have them bleed all the more together in our collective minds, as you know they'll do.
@dkxcalibur to reach their own. But man, the 3D entries especially, stand out as top tier early collect-a-thon 3D platformers to me. I mean, no they weren't Mario 64 of course, but I would put them just below Banjo Kazooie. If you truly immersed yourself in those games there genuinely was a lot to love
Credit where credit is due, this false Harvest Moon title is the first one that to me is looking like it has earned the right to actually call itself Harvest Moon. It's still a little rough around the edges looking, but I certainly like the effort I'm seeing to make this belong under the banner of titles known as Harvest Moon. I think I'll always consider Story of Seasons to be the proper continuation of the Harvest Moon series, as that is the actual case; but I don't hate what I'm seeing unlike in previous faux Harvest Moon titles.
Gex was an underrated gem of a series. Kinda crazy it hasn't re-emerged with a new entry yet in recent years. But I'll absolutely take a collection of the 3. Though, I feel like it should also include both of the GBC entries, as they were quite different from their 3D counterparts.
@PtM first of all, I'm absolutely not a fan. Never thought much about Kobe at all.
More importantly though, I simply don't subscribe to the idea of guilty until proven innocent. Scary to think people are on-board with that kind of mentality. Hope you never find yourself with your name and reputation permanently tainted without any actual evidence of the crime in question.
@Nico07 Man, if you want a role model in the NBA today that is also quite possibly the best player in the league, then look at Giannis Antetokounmpo. He might be the most wholesome athlete in any professional sport today. I would absolutely say he's a great man to look to for fantastic role models in the NBA today.
@Magician Oh please, where is the evidence of sexual assault? He absolutely cheated on wife, no doubt about that. But the evidence is incredibly lacking to make genuine claims that he definitively committed sexual assault beyond the hearsay of one woman. And, no, I don't subscribe to the idea of 'believe all women all the time.' Women can and have lied, just as much as men, and when a nice little payday might be in store for anyone, it's not hard to see why the temptation may exist to lie to begin with. Now, if there were dozens of accusations a la Bill Cosby, then that would be a different story, but one instance of hearsay alone is never enough in my book. I mean, yeah, he was absolutely a piece of ***** to cheat on his wife, likewise for Tiger Woods, but cheating does not equal sexual assault without physical evidence.
No matter when in the fall it releases, it will be competing with Mario Wonder regardless. This might be one of the biggest Mario vs. Sonic releases to ever line up, and its crazy in just how similar both game concepts are at that.
Realistically, in terms of console games, they'll go over the coming DLC for Frontiers, we'll see more of Sonic Superstars. And maybe they'll show one new port or remaster. But I imagine that's pretty much it. I can't imagine a brand new full 3D game is about to be announced when Frontiers is still very much a current game with updates yet to come, and obviously they just announced their big new 2D game. So I'm not sure what more there is to hope for, beyond maybe an Unleashed remaster, or a Sonic Adventure Collection, or something like that. Perhaps there could be a new Sonic spinoff title in the works? A new racing game perhaps? I guess that's feasible, but I'm not banking on that.
As an aside, what do you think a Sonic Adventure Collection would include? Would it just be 1/DX and 2/Battle? Or maybe they'd go all out and just include the 4 mainline 3D games of that era: 1/DX, 2/Battle, Heroes, and Shadow the Hedgehog. That would make a really sick collection.
@RainbowGazelle I'm really not sure how else you could adequately showcase a game like this. Its going to have to be a cheesy video in one way or another when your game is so much less focused on what's actually happening on the screen and so much more focused on how the player is physically interacting with the different minigames.
I could see this being a big thing at conventions or team building activities at corporate retreats and stuff like that. I like what they're trying to do with the series, has a very Jackbox Party Pack feel to it.
I'm also curious if the smartphone connectivity might lead to other first party Nintendo games utilizing it in the future, allowing for a return of asymmetrical gaming options that the Wii U was trying to introduce.
@smithyo I think that'll depend on age. 20 year old and young 30 year old ladies that love Pokemon probably would really dig those shirts. I mean I absolutely know a few women that would love it if their boyfriends wore such shirts.
@BlueKnight07 it may not be an Oscar winner, but it's absolutely a shoe-in for nominee for best animated feature. I'd be shocked if it doesn't get that nod. But we have the next Spider-verse movie this year too right? That'll be a tough one to beat, no denying the visuals of that first one alone real put it on a whole nother level from the competition. I'm expecting the same with its sequel.
Good to see an almost entirely positive concensus. You won't always win everybody (just look at the baffling negative BOTW reviews), but if the bulk of your audience loves what you've delivered, then you're on the right path.
They'd do us all a favor to just forget that Blast was a game. Also wish they used the Master System version of games where available like Sonic 1, 2 and Chaos.

Re: Nintendo's Upcoming Party Game Everybody 1-2-Switch! Showcases "100 Players At Once"
@RainbowGazelle I'm really not sure how else you could adequately showcase a game like this. Its going to have to be a cheesy video in one way or another when your game is so much less focused on what's actually happening on the screen and so much more focused on how the player is physically interacting with the different minigames.
Re: Nintendo's Upcoming Party Game Everybody 1-2-Switch! Showcases "100 Players At Once"
Re: Original Stitch's Pokémon Shirts To Close Down Next Month Following Business Termination
@smithyo I think that'll depend on age. 20 year old and young 30 year old ladies that love Pokemon probably would really dig those shirts. I mean I absolutely know a few women that would love it if their boyfriends wore such shirts.
Re: Talking Point: What Is A 'Traditional' Zelda Game, Anyway?
Zelda II obviously
Re: Five Nights At Freddy's: Security Breach Gets A Surprise Switch eShop Release
Really striking while the iron is hot by putting this series on the Switch now.
Re: Round Up: The First Impressions Of The Super Mario Bros. Movie Are In
@BlueKnight07 it may not be an Oscar winner, but it's absolutely a shoe-in for nominee for best animated feature. I'd be shocked if it doesn't get that nod. But we have the next Spider-verse movie this year too right? That'll be a tough one to beat, no denying the visuals of that first one alone real put it on a whole nother level from the competition. I'm expecting the same with its sequel.
Re: Round Up: The First Impressions Of The Super Mario Bros. Movie Are In
Good to see an almost entirely positive concensus. You won't always win everybody (just look at the baffling negative BOTW reviews), but if the bulk of your audience loves what you've delivered, then you're on the right path.
Re: Sonic Origins Plus Reportedly Out In June, Adds Amy Rose And 12 Game Gear Games
They'd do us all a favor to just forget that Blast was a game. Also wish they used the Master System version of games where available like Sonic 1, 2 and Chaos.
Re: Nintendo Expands Its Switch Online Game Boy Advance Service March 9th
@Vil It'll come, likewise for Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2. I'm sure there are more N64 games to come on top of those too
