Not surprised to see it pulled. I suppose Disney wouldn't be cool with someone making money off of their own illustrations of Mickey Mouse. Still, can't we just let this stuff go? It's not like if I buy this Zelda guide, it's going to cause me to not buy an official Zelda artwork book at the same time.
While I didn't know such a puzzle had appeared in any other DS games, I did know exactly what puzzle this article would be talking about. Feel like everybody remembers that particular puzzle in Phantom Hourglass.
Thing about GBA titles, is that a lot of the best ones were just remakes or remasters of games already in the service: the entire Mario Advance series, Metroid Zero Mission, Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland, A Link to the Past, etc. Of course, games like Minish Cap, Metroid Fusion, and Kirby and the Amazing Mirror should still get a modern chance to shine, and we did get Mario Allstars despite all those games already being in the NES service, so I don't think those reasons should bar such great remasters from joining either.
I am so happy that Monkey Ball is back, and like back to its roots at that. It's exactly what I wanted for the series, and I think what most of the fanbase was hoping for as well. I hope beyond all the remake levels here, that they consider new stages via DLC, people want this, and once we have it, we'll simply just want more of this.
Well if it's SEGA, my first thought is Alex Kidd, but that doesn't seem particularly hype. Maybe Bayonetta? That almost seems fitting in a weird way. Knights would be a cool choice too.
It's either Rowlet or Cyndaquil. Sorry Oshawott, you're design never did it for me. I'd probably immediately jump on Rowlet as that little guy is an all time favorite starter for me. But that's just it, he was my starter in Moon. I didn't start with Cyndaquil when I played gen 2, but I almost did, it was a tough choice between him and Totodile, but I ultimately chose Totodile, as such it is a little attractive to go a different route and choose Cyndaquil. Come to think of it, I'm not sure I've ever gone with the fire starter, so that really has me leaning more towards Cyndaquil.
@HIGHscores85 the 3 games together can't be more than 10GB, even if remastered, it can't be more than 16GB. If they can't put all 3 on a single cart that'd be ridiculous.
I love that this trilogy may be getting a remaster. (Though maybe I'm alone here, but I collectively consider them the full GTA 3 experience and not so much a trilogy exactly, if that makes sense).
Anyway, I love this, but I can't help but want 3 and Vice City to also offer second campaigns by working in Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories. That to me would make it the true full GTA 3 experience especially when you think about how all 5 games are in the same style and were all on the PS2.
I'd agree that it cheapens the experience, but I would never call it cheating. I think if you get to the point that you want to do use something like this nonstop then you've probably long since lost sight in regards to what makes these experiences fun to begin with.
And Xenoverse 2 just announced a new fighter. Bandai Namco should have held a little DBZ games direct, I bet they have more plans for Kakarot too that they could tease, I know that one saw an update only 2 months ago, so the next one might be a bit of a ways away, but I bet they still have something they could show off.
I've been thinking that it's time for Spike's revival. Pauline has had her revival and now she's clearly joining the current Mario Bros roster. Wouldn't be surprised if Spike starts to appear in other games after this as well.
That thing is beefy, and I dunno what it is, but that top picture with it in someone's actual hands, it doesn't look so great to me. Like it looked nicer in the announcement images. When it's in someone's hands, it kinda looks like a mess.
@idork99 That's the dirty little secret about why the wait times are never very long even with 2 week checkout times... everyone has forgotten the library exists. And of those that do remember that they do, few recognize the full reach of the things they can do at their library. It's soooooo much more than books.
@sanderev I laugh at those complaints because I just reserve new Switch ports from the local library as soon as they release. In fact I just got an email today saying my copy of Skyward Sword HD is available to pick up, and I have 2 full weeks to play it for free at that. When it's a big brand new game that I want to play, I'll happily buy them, but when it's a Wii remaster or something similar, then the public library is my best friend lol.
I genuinely don't get it. Especially with a title that has officially been repackaged time and time again. I mean I guess I get it from the perspective of, this stuff is worth as much as we deem its worth. But while I can look at the first copy of Superman and recognize that, OK, a digital version of a copy of that comic is going to be a different experience from the physical version. But when it comes to video games, once that cartridge is in the slot, the experience is no different from the digital ones you can easily experience today at little to no cost.
Of course, I'm aware that a mint condition game of this kind is never going to even leave its packaging, which to me is all the more of a case of, I simply don't get it. You buy this specifically for the collector's value that we've collectively given it, but it all just cycles back to me not understanding why it has any real collector's value to begin with.
I definitely will pick this up at some point, I'm just kinda sucked into games like Fire Emblem Three Houses right now that I'm not to interested in the more party and sports kind of games. But I imagine this is only the first of many updates, so by the time I'm ready for this game it'll probably be flooded with new extra content.
It's a great game, one that I think will still best be experienced on Wii U over the Switch given how the camera functioned in game, but it's great that it will be exposed to a larger audience with its Switch release.
I love new characters, but are they all purely aesthetic? Like does Sonic go faster or anything like that?
Regardless, what I hope we hear to come for the game is new courses in the classic style beyond everything in Deluxe. Even if that's DLC, classic Monkey Ball is what the people want, so I really hope they're considering adding more.
@RupeeClock It's silly, but they don't have to do it at all, I mean I don't get the feeling that if they didn't release these "special" versions that we'd receive extra games in their place. These seem to just be a little extra bonus that they just as easily could not have done at all.
I know the series is long over, but I'd love for Capcom to do another Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law game. To anyone unfamiliar, it was a real game made in the same exact style as the Ace Attorney games, and it was every bit as great as you'd imagine. Only negative as I recall is that Steven Colbert did not voice Phil Ken Sebben and Reducto in the game and had to use a soundalike, otherwise I believe all other show actors are there including Gary Cole.
@1ofUs Not sure I'd agree with that comparison at all. At least in BOTW 2's initial teaser reveal, there was some substance to dissect and get hyped by. This Sonic teaser was literally just him running through a field and nothing more. I think I'd say the far better comparison would be the Metroid Prime 4 or Bayonetta 3 reveal.
@JR150 I think Cyberpunk was probably an even better example.
Bomberman has definitely gotta be on the shortlist of assist trophies that would be next up to graduate to fighter in the inevitable followup to Ultimate. (Along with Isaac, Waluigi, and Skull Kid).
I definitely will give it a try, a Pokemon MOBA is a perfect pairing on paper, how it's handled in practice is what will determine if I keep playing or not.
Small complaint, but based on how Nintendo counts it, Pyra and Mythra would make variants 79 and 80 respectively and not just count as a single fighter morph for kirby.
Sega's double packs seem like odd choices, you get Mania and TSR in one and Forces and Monkey Ball Banana Blitz in another. Wouldn't it make more sense to put Mania and Forces together since they are connected in story (even if that connection is weak at best), and then Monkey Ball and TSR together since they're both more party-like games.
@OctoCallie20 not defeatist at all, I'd been campaigning for her to just be a premium Mii costume as soon as the first one was introduced with Sans. So for me this is the exact outcome I wanted for her. She's not good enough to be a full fighter in my opinion, I could list off at least 15 fighters I'd like to see actually join the roster before her. Bomberman is the only premium Mii costume that bums me out as I've always wanted him as a proper fighter. Of course with him in as an assist trophy, I didn't think he had any chance whatsoever when his Mii costume was revealed, so that one was a mixed bag of emotion when the Mii was revealed, but I imagine the disappointment you feel for Shantae's status in the game is similar to what I feel about Bomberman.
If you're curious, I have some other characters on my "I'd rather they just get the premium Mii treatment list" including Shovel Knight and Viewtiful Joe. Of course if one of them make it in as a Mii fighter, you would assume I'm a defeatist when I would be expressing my joy that they made it in the game in the capacity that I'd prefer for them.
@Onion honestly, I think the stage builder in Ultimate is pretty solid. It's not the most intricate stage builder to ever exist but there is so much that can be accomplished with what tools they did give us.
OK, so as a test, I just tried level 9 Kazuya in a 3 stock battle. No items, Final Destination, I played as King Dedede, and I just beat him first try with 2 stock to spare and I only lost my first stock in a sacrifice play that killed us both. And I'm not even a particularly great Smash player, I get by, but I know I'm nothing special lol. So I dunno if I just got lucky or if these people are just exaggerating. (I saved the replay of the battle by the way if this really was a fluke on my part)
For the right price, I will one day pick this up. I'm all in favor of more AR gaming experiences and this is such a brilliant entry to the genre, legit probably the best yet.
Now if the Switch was strictly a home console, I would argue that there is no need to put any streaming services on it in this day and age, any modern TV will have access to nearly every streaming app you can imagine out of the box.
But the Switch is also a portable, and sure, we can use our phones for these streaming apps too, but that requires pulling out another device entirely, so I do think there is an appeal for such a service on the Switch, at least for when you're on the go and would appreciate being able to both game and watch something, long road trips and flights seem like good places where this would be ideal.
The item description change is really the only major complaint I ever had against Skyward Sword, so for that to be fixed is really all I needed to hear.
I mean if we count 2.5D games as 2D, that is games made in 3D but presented from a 2D side perspective where you don't move with depth but rather only traverse from the left to right side of the screen or vice versa, like Metroid Dread here is, then so too is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. And is anyone going to try and argue that Ultimate isn't worth $60? Cuz yeah, I'm not gonna agree to that.
I'm impressed that the trade of 2 completely different kinds of collectors items from different mediums are worth roughly the same at around half a million.
Picross is fine, but it gets old way too quick for me. Conversely, something like Sudoku, which I'd argue has a lot of similarities with Picross, can keep me engaged for long periods of time.
If I didn't already have it on my PS4 for free, I might have got it here. It is fun in it's own right, but if you're looking for a traditional Worms experience than WMD still remains your best bet at this time.
Nintendo must have some sort of specific plans for F-Zero in the future. You hear stuff like this every so often when the series comes up, that a game was pitched for the series but turned down.
I know the argument is that Nintendo doesn't need another racing series when they have Mario Kart, but I really don't think that's the case, just look at Nintendo with the Tactical RPG genre, they currently have 3 of them that are active: Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, and Mario + Rabbids. Granted Mario + Rabbids is handled by a third party, but so was F-Zero GX and AX with Sega, so the argument that Nintendo can't have more than one series in a genre (outside of platformers obviously) doesn't make much sense at all.
I think Nintendo just has something else in mind for F-Zero, maybe they've even been working on it and it's been in development hell or something. I dunno, but I trust Nintendo's judgement when it comes to the series, even if it has been forever since we last saw anything from it.
@Jokerwolf I was never really a fan of Waluigi for Smash, but then one day someone explained that his moveset could be a celebration of Waluigi's purpose to fill out rosters in Mario Spinoff games, as he was created for Mario Tennis on the N64 for that specific reason.
Once that was pointed out to me, the possibilities did actually become exciting, moves could be based on Mario Kart, Tennis, Golf, Party, even that DDR for GameCube where Waluigi was the final boss.
I mean I'm not sitting here rooting for Waluigi, I never have been, but if they did him proper with a moveset like that, then I really wouldn't be angry at all if he did end up making the roster. Still, he's far from my first choice.
@Bizzyb well you're wrong to use the word literally, because I'm all on board. But I get your sentiment. It would definitely make most sense as a bonus bookend fighter to compliment Piranha Plant. But even if Sakurai made it the actual final fighter of the pass, I'd be all on board. I'm sure he wants to celebrate Smash with the last character, and while fighters like Crash, Rayman, or Doom Slayer would be exciting, they lack any real oomph of finality. And I think Sakurai wants and deserves that finality, so if he were passionate about such a final fighter even if most the players weren't excited by the fighter, I would hope that most of us could at least respect why he would choose such a final fighter, and allow it all the same. Again, I absolutely would.

Re: Sakurai Says Smash Bros. Ultimate's Next DLC Fighter Really Will Be The Last One
