I can just remember the absolute awe I felt when playing Mario 64 and how sublime and revolutionary it was at the time. It’s sad I’ll never experience that again in gaming but am glad I was there!

It remains my favourite game to this day probably just because of how much it blew me away. A masterpiece from Miyamoto that many tried to imitate but never matched.

Then I got goldeneye and was blown away all over again! Great times.

I’m not sure why anybody would be expecting a reimagining tbh.

DK and S2 pro controller are easy choices for me.

I know NL didn’t rate DK up there with odyssey but I actually preferred it as it was just so fun. Both great though obviously I just think DK is underrated despite it being rated so high!

It definitely makes it harder for scalpers which is great but the flip side is new customers can’t buy as they don’t have the 50 hour gaming history. That was my point no drama.

Where did you see stats showing the breakdown between new and returning customers to back up your claim?

Seems like a really good way to alienate new customers.

The only switch 2 hardware I’d like is the pro controller split in two that can be connected to the S2 console in place of the joycon. Never gonna happen but I can dream.

I can't see this being anywhere near a FF7 style remake and not sure I'd want it to be. Just some QoL changes would be good for my tastes.

Agree with everything Ollie has put here and there's one thing I'd like to see Nintendo use from Ocarina in new Zelda games - magic!

I miss having link being able to cast spells like furore's wind etc. Why did that even get removed?

@LightSpirit yeah definitely. I’ve not played yoshi but from what I’ve seen and heard it doesn’t come close to Astro which is up there with Nintendo’s best in my opinion.

It probably boils more down to Japanese liking handhelds and the bigger switch install base I guess?

Yeah but queens blood is superb, as long as that’s back I’m happy.

While there were a lot of mini games they didn’t bother me at all. Looking forward to Revelation!

Loved this on vita but it’s priced a lot higher than I was expecting for some reason thought it’d be 20!

I voted ocarina, murumasa and stellar blade.

Third party was excellent, first party not so. For me anyway.

I don’t understand the limited ocarina showing. I’d understand the tease if it was a new Zelda but we more or less know what to expect with an OoT remake so why not just show it off? Strange decision in my opinion.

On paper it looks good but I can’t quite help but feel a bit disappointed.

Yeah OoT is great but no gameplay for a 2026 release? Watching Switch Sports Resort just made me miss wave race and pilotwings more!

Great to see the third party support which is looking strong especially from capcom though I’ve played or own many of those on PlayStation so aren’t for me.

Luckily there’s a mountain of stuff to play overall, I think my expectations were too high for this one.

This is indeed a stellar game but won’t be double dipping on switch even if it is tempting!

Can't believe they didn't show gameplay, especially as it has a 2026 release date. Disappointing.

Sadly not interested in this due to the lack of SP but hope it turns out well.

@Teksette yes in my opinion Nintendo repairing the joycon for free was an admission that there was a problem.

Shame they didn’t see fit to be honest and transparent about the whole thing. Would have gone a long way with their fanbase.

Please can we have a new Pushmo Nintendo?

They clearly knew about the problem and I can’t understand why they didn’t try and rectify it with a new design rather than continue to sell the original. Maybe they thought they’d get away with it and like the article states hoped it would lead to more joycon sales which it obviously did.

It would be weird not to have these on Switch for sure. Hopefully they'll be part of the Direct tomorrow, if not that seems a big oversight to me.

007 for me and agree the pacing, characters, story and gameplay are all ace. The tutorial is so well done and the best tutorial of any game I’ve played. Kudos IO!

@Grimley141 yeah agreed. I don't think I've ever needed a new battery for any device that hasn't been user replaceable. I get the EU's stance on this but I think the advantage is outweighed by the disadvantage in this case.

It’s pretty much all I wanted from a new Nintendo console. The hardware is great though I do wish they’d designed more comfortable and ergonomic joycon, I don’t find them comfortable to use.

Donkey Kong was my goty last year and loved it. I also enjoyed MP4 and Mario Kart. Sadly a lot of the 3rd party stuff I’d already played on ps5 so much of it didn’t interest me personally. It’s great the system is being supported with games like Cyberpunk and Pragmata though.

Overall I’m happy and just waiting on a new Mario or Zelda like everyone else. Oh and I’d love a new Pushmo or even a re-release of the old games, come on Nintendo!

Have played mostly docked and don’t think I’ve even left the house with it yet so it’s mint!

I loved my N64 but for some reason never got round to DK64. Maybe now’s my chance!

I wouldn’t be surprised if this is slightly thicker in design to accommodate fixings for removable parts etc. I hope not and also hope the battery isn’t smaller in capacity for the same reason.

Yes please I'm ready for some Nintendo blowout. I've got loads I'm looking to get on playstation but my Nintendo pipeline is looking thin.

I'd love a new Wave Race (or even a remake along the lines of Starfox), some mainline Mario and/or Zelda and those Prime 2 & 3 rumoured remasters please!

Really enjoying Bond so far is a really good game!

Loved Rebirth on PS5 but not going to double dip. I'll be there for Starfox and Elliot though and maybe Denshattack.

This could put the switch version on par with pc in terms of controlling speed and accuracy. Nice!
