I can just remember the absolute awe I felt when playing Mario 64 and how sublime and revolutionary it was at the time. It’s sad I’ll never experience that again in gaming but am glad I was there!
It remains my favourite game to this day probably just because of how much it blew me away. A masterpiece from Miyamoto that many tried to imitate but never matched.
Then I got goldeneye and was blown away all over again! Great times.
I know NL didn’t rate DK up there with odyssey but I actually preferred it as it was just so fun. Both great though obviously I just think DK is underrated despite it being rated so high!
@StorminNorman ok I think well have to agree to disagree
It definitely makes it harder for scalpers which is great but the flip side is new customers can’t buy as they don’t have the 50 hour gaming history. That was my point no drama.
The only switch 2 hardware I’d like is the pro controller split in two that can be connected to the S2 console in place of the joycon. Never gonna happen but I can dream.
@LightSpirit yeah definitely. I’ve not played yoshi but from what I’ve seen and heard it doesn’t come close to Astro which is up there with Nintendo’s best in my opinion.
It probably boils more down to Japanese liking handhelds and the bigger switch install base I guess?
Third party was excellent, first party not so. For me anyway.
I don’t understand the limited ocarina showing. I’d understand the tease if it was a new Zelda but we more or less know what to expect with an OoT remake so why not just show it off? Strange decision in my opinion.
On paper it looks good but I can’t quite help but feel a bit disappointed.
Yeah OoT is great but no gameplay for a 2026 release? Watching Switch Sports Resort just made me miss wave race and pilotwings more!
Great to see the third party support which is looking strong especially from capcom though I’ve played or own many of those on PlayStation so aren’t for me.
Luckily there’s a mountain of stuff to play overall, I think my expectations were too high for this one.
They clearly knew about the problem and I can’t understand why they didn’t try and rectify it with a new design rather than continue to sell the original. Maybe they thought they’d get away with it and like the article states hoped it would lead to more joycon sales which it obviously did.
007 for me and agree the pacing, characters, story and gameplay are all ace. The tutorial is so well done and the best tutorial of any game I’ve played. Kudos IO!
@Grimley141 yeah agreed. I don't think I've ever needed a new battery for any device that hasn't been user replaceable. I get the EU's stance on this but I think the advantage is outweighed by the disadvantage in this case.
It’s pretty much all I wanted from a new Nintendo console. The hardware is great though I do wish they’d designed more comfortable and ergonomic joycon, I don’t find them comfortable to use.
Donkey Kong was my goty last year and loved it. I also enjoyed MP4 and Mario Kart. Sadly a lot of the 3rd party stuff I’d already played on ps5 so much of it didn’t interest me personally. It’s great the system is being supported with games like Cyberpunk and Pragmata though.
Overall I’m happy and just waiting on a new Mario or Zelda like everyone else. Oh and I’d love a new Pushmo or even a re-release of the old games, come on Nintendo!
I wouldn’t be surprised if this is slightly thicker in design to accommodate fixings for removable parts etc. I hope not and also hope the battery isn’t smaller in capacity for the same reason.
Yes please I'm ready for some Nintendo blowout. I've got loads I'm looking to get on playstation but my Nintendo pipeline is looking thin.
I'd love a new Wave Race (or even a remake along the lines of Starfox), some mainline Mario and/or Zelda and those Prime 2 & 3 rumoured remasters please!

Re: Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Description May Suggest A Faithful 1:1 Remake
I’m not sure why anybody would be expecting a reimagining tbh.
Re: Talking Point: Starter Pack - What Are Your Nintendo Switch 2 Essentials?
DK and S2 pro controller are easy choices for me.
I know NL didn’t rate DK up there with odyssey but I actually preferred it as it was just so fun. Both great though obviously I just think DK is underrated despite it being rated so high!

Re: Nintendo Combats Scalpers With New Switch 2 Purchase Requirements In Japan
@StorminNorman I didn’t say it wasn’t selling I said it’s not a good situation for first time buyers.
Where did you see stats showing the breakdown between new and returning customers to back up your claim?
Re: Nintendo Combats Scalpers With New Switch 2 Purchase Requirements In Japan
Seems like a really good way to alienate new customers.
Re: Talking Point: Switch 2 Console Special Editions - What Would You Like To See?

Re: Feature: Six Things That Need To Change In The Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Remake
I can't see this being anywhere near a FF7 style remake and not sure I'd want it to be. Just some QoL changes would be good for my tastes.
Re: Feature: Six Things That Need To Change In The Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Remake
Agree with everything Ollie has put here and there's one thing I'd like to see Nintendo use from Ocarina in new Zelda games - magic!
I miss having link being able to cast spells like furore's wind etc. Why did that even get removed?
Re: Japanese Charts: Switch 2 Sales Continue To Slip, But Tomodachi Life Holds The Newbies At Bay

Re: Final Fantasy Revelation Will Contain Even More Minigames Than Rebirth
Yeah but queens blood is superb, as long as that’s back I’m happy.
While there were a lot of mini games they didn’t bother me at all. Looking forward to Revelation!
Re: Japanese Charts: Switch 2 Sales Continue To Slip, But Tomodachi Life Holds The Newbies At Bay
Astrobot really deserves to sell more than 100k, come on Japanese gamers!
Re: Preview: Tomb Raider: Legacy Of Atlantis Sees An "Unfettered" Lara Put The Survivor Era Behind Her
@ducttape12 the devs are AI
Re: Talking Point: What Do You Think Of Link's New Ocarina Of Time Design?
@WhiteTrashGuy haha 64 at the end of odyssey would have been incredible!
Re: Talking Point: What Do You Think Of Link's New Ocarina Of Time Design?
Sort of unrelated but I’d really love a Mario 64 remake like this probably more than any other game… Please hear me Nintendo!
Re: Talking Point: What Do You Think Of Link's New Ocarina Of Time Design?
Liked the design. Didn’t like the lack of gameplay.
Edit: subtle but brilliant subtitle, kudos!
Re: Vanillaware's Underrated Wii Gem Returns On Switch 1 & 2 Early Next Year
Loved this on vita but it’s priced a lot higher than I was expecting for some reason thought it’d be 20!
Re: Nintendo Direct June 2026: Every Announcement, Game Reveal & Trailer
I voted ocarina, murumasa and stellar blade.
Third party was excellent, first party not so. For me anyway.

Re: 'Stellar Blade' Brings Style And Sauciness To Switch 2 "This Year"
@Bizzyb that’s cool as there’s neat nier dlc for fans of automata!
Re: 'Stellar Blade' Brings Style And Sauciness To Switch 2 "This Year"
This is indeed a stellar game but won’t be double dipping on switch even if it is tempting!
Re: Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Remake Is Real, And It's Launching This Year
Can't believe they didn't show gameplay, especially as it has a 2026 release date. Disappointing.
Re: The Duskbloods Is Still Looking For A Release Date, Even After A Direct Appearance
Sadly not interested in this due to the lack of SP but hope it turns out well.
Re: Nintendo Fined €35 Million Over Widespread Joy-Con Defects
@Teksette yes in my opinion Nintendo repairing the joycon for free was an admission that there was a problem.
Shame they didn’t see fit to be honest and transparent about the whole thing. Would have gone a long way with their fanbase.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Direct June 2026 Predictions - What Do You Hope To See?
Please can we have a new Pushmo Nintendo?
Re: Nintendo Fined €35 Million Over Widespread Joy-Con Defects
They clearly knew about the problem and I can’t understand why they didn’t try and rectify it with a new design rather than continue to sell the original. Maybe they thought they’d get away with it and like the article states hoped it would lead to more joycon sales which it obviously did.
Re: Switch 2 Absent From Persona 4 And 6 Trailers, And Fans Are Concerned
It would be weird not to have these on Switch for sure. Hopefully they'll be part of the Direct tomorrow, if not that seems a big oversight to me.
Re: UK Charts: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Makes A Solid Debut On Switch 2
@Markatron84 you're right, it's been edited, Xbox was showing 9%.
All is well in the world 😂
Re: Nintendo Direct Announced For Tomorrow, 9th June 2026
@WheresWaveRace no man there's now 3 mentions of Wave Race now I mention also wanting a new one! Or even a remake would do...
Re: Nintendo Direct Announced For Tomorrow, 9th June 2026
@Shmicko that would be 4 purchases from me right there!
Re: Nintendo Direct Announced For Tomorrow, 9th June 2026
Oooh I love it when it's such short notice. Hope it lives up to the other 3 shows!
Re: UK Charts: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Makes A Solid Debut On Switch 2
Platform split for Mortal Kombat is 109%, just sayin!
Re: One Of 2025's Best Games Is Getting A 'Nintendo Switch 2 Edition' This Month
@neogyo ah nice I didn't know that. The audio in Ball x Pitt was strong!
Re: 007 First Light "Year One" Roadmap Revealed, Reconfirms Switch 2 Release Window
It deserves to be a success so glad to see it selling well so far!
I rarely bother with DCL but I might be swayed on this one...
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (6th June)
007 for me and agree the pacing, characters, story and gameplay are all ace. The tutorial is so well done and the best tutorial of any game I’ve played. Kudos IO!

Re: Talking Point: One Year On, How Pristine Is Your Switch 2?
Have played mostly docked and don’t think I’ve even left the house with it yet so it’s mint!
Re: Nintendo Confirms Switch 2 Revision For Europe
@Gabe250 yes you’re probably right, it’s the easiest and cheapest option I suppose.
If anything it needs a bigger battery!
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's N64 Library With Another Game
I loved my N64 but for some reason never got round to DK64. Maybe now’s my chance!
Re: Nintendo Confirms Switch 2 Revision For Europe

Re: LEGO Batman: Legacy Of The Dark Knight Finally Punches Up Switch 2 Release Date
After the state of play yesterday I'm not sure september is a great idea!
Re: Review: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (Switch 2) - Some Rough Edges, But Still A Great Game
The visuals were up and down on ps5 as well.
Re: UK Charts: 007 First Light Leaves The Competition Shaken
Really enjoying Bond so far is a really good game!
Re: Video: 11 Exciting New Games Coming To Switch 1 & 2 In June 2026
Loved Rebirth on PS5 but not going to double dip. I'll be there for Starfox and Elliot though and maybe Denshattack.
Re: Call Of Duty On Switch 2 Includes Joy-Con 2 Mouse Support, Cross-Play & Cross-Progression
This could put the switch version on par with pc in terms of controlling speed and accuracy. Nice!
