Amazingly I haven’t played MK since the Wii U so am ready for this!

I used to be bothered about this but actually digital buttons are better for most situations like if the button is assign for attacking motions as it’s more instant.

It’s really only racing games that suffer.

I think we all know Nintendo don’t give anything away for free any more, not even gold coins, so I guess this isn’t much of a surprise either.

Have loved the DK games since the SNES and got this pre-ordered already, can’t wait!

I’m sure it’ll be a lot closer between S2 and PS5 when it launches. At least after the initial hype has calmed down anyway…

I hope by increasing the games by 100% in price (£35 to £75 where I am) Nintendo are expecting a 50% decrease% in unit sales?

@Vil couldn't agree more and it's sad we'll never get such a revolutionary experience like Mario 64 back in the day. It totally blew me away and to this day is still my favourite game, simply because of how incredible it was at the time. Flawless!

Mr Bowser it’s not the hardware price we’re complaining about, I think most people, myself included, feel it’s good value for the tech it contains.

It’s the game prices we have issue with. In the uk I pay about £35 for a switch 1 first party game, the £70 you’re asking for Switch 2 is double that - a 100% increase which is quite frankly insane.

The questions I have are:

-where the fudge is a new wave race?
-as above but pilotwings.
-as above but excite truck.
-will odyssey get the S2 upgrade treatment?

@Old-Red yes is a little ironic Nintendo were all about accessibility and now are making gaming a lot less accessible thanks to their game pricing.

I managed to get a pre order in as I want to play prime 4 on the new console.

Other than Mario kart and donkey Kong there’s not much else I’m interested in considering the game prices. Cyberpunk for example I may pick up on ps5.

@MK73DS they won’t use 64gb cards for key cards. If a game is say 70gb they won’t ship 64gb of it on a cart and then you download 6gb.

It’ll be a key code to unlock and download the full 70gb.

That’s great Nintendo but I’ve seen literally zero people talk about this issue. Game prices on the other hand…

I was disappointed Nintendo didn’t add achievements at first but actually now I’m cool with it.

On PlayStation it made me change my playing behaviour in that I’d just waste time collecting pointless stuff for the sake of it just to get a trophy. That would take the enjoyment out of it for me not to mention waste my time.

@Orpheus79V I, not sure, I can buy a 128gb sd on Amazon right now and I don’t have nintendos buying power due to bulk purchasing. Prices would definitely be cheaper for them.

Don’t get me wrong I don’t want more expensive games either but I’d rather pay an extra 10 and have the whole game on the cart than paying 10 less for a pointless key card.

It’s pretty much the same experience I paid half the price for Mario kart 8. That was £35 not £70.

@KociolekDoSyta I’m sure Nintendo can and will extend the maximum size to say 128g or 256gb if they need to.

@Zealv2 there will be other capacities as well, not just 64gb. So a game being 10gb won’t ship on a 64gb cart. Probably 16gb.

There’s likely 4gb, 8gb, 32gb too.

@jojobar oh yes definitely I think the hardware pricing is fine for the tech/specs.

I’be had quite a film of Zelda and I’d much rather we got a remake of wave race from the GameCube. Or better yet a brand new entry.

It’s definitely sad that after such buzz from the direct the shine was taken away with the key cards, game prices etc.

I’ve still pre-ordered but I can’t see me buying even half the amount of games on switch 2 as I did switch 1 at these prices. Even then I’ll only buy the game if it’s on the cart. I’ll refuse the key cards all together.

@NintendoSwitch2 @Princess_Lilly why? 3rd parties often get dimension specs etc in advance so accessories can be designed for launch. Hence how we got so many accurate leaks leading up to yesterday…

@Lone_Beagle yes correct but our wages haven’t gone up in line with that so effectively it’s more expensive than you outlined.

Metroid and donkey kong will be my first Switch 2 games, can’t wait!

It may end up like arms but for my tastes at least this looks a lot more fun!
