Is this digital only on switch 2?

I find it interesting considering the more powerful and power hungry chip Nintendo didn’t just make the S2 1mm thicker to house a higher capacity battery. I’m sure most of us would have preferred that to a lesser battery or maybe that’s just me!?

@Ramouz are you not thinking of mobile phones? When they’re new they run a lot of background tasks and yes your battery then normalises after a week or so.

Not sure that relates to the switch though?

Just did a quick test playing Mario kart medium brightness not connected to the internet.

Went from 100% to 91% after one championship in 16.5 minutes.

That would mean about a third of the battery depleting in an hour giving 3 hours total. Not great but could be worse!

Nintendo have nailed it with the pro controller 2. It just feels so nice to hold, the materials feel expensive and my fear of accidental presses of the rear trigger buttons doesn’t hold.

Will pick this up at some point for sure, especially to support the game being on the cart also. Well done project red.

I love the new pro controller it has such a nice feel to it. The materials seem a lot nicer than the OG pro controller.

I’m excited to try the new joycon as they definitely look an improvement over the originals (which I replaced with the Hori split pad pros) but I’m sure my pro controller 2 will be used much more than them.

It’s like Nintendo and other companies are making physical less attractive on purpose to entice digital sales which they have more control and profit over.

@Medic_alert I see and wow that seems a very backwards decision.

You could be right in that it’s not cost effective to make smaller capacities though that would go against the whole history of storage mediums where smaller always came first and were more prevalent.

It could just be Nintendo being Nintendo 😅

Is a shame they didn’t go for a 6, 5 or 4nm fabrication to improve efficiency and battery life.

I hope there’s an improved battery model at some point just like there was with the OG switch.

I love the look of almost everything the switch 2 offers, except game chat.

@Sindayl yes the Series S is underpowered for a fully fledged home console.

Switch 2 is in a handheld form factor so of course there’s going to be limitations with what can be achieved with the current tech available.

Only 22 days to go for the S2, can’t wait! 😀

I’ve used this feature on my iPhone for years limiting to 80% and in all honestly don’t think it makes any difference.

Funny enough I’ve been watching a lot on Apple TV+ recently and noticed how artistically shot many of the programs are. Love good cinematography so will probably pick this up for the art if nothing else!

I mean he’s not wrong in terms of amount of effort and investment is concerned. GTA is in a league of its own with an almost infinite budget.

However in terms of longevity I’d argue Mario kart could provide as many hours entertainment as gta online for the average player.

From my perspective I’d probably agree I’d feel there’s more value in GTA than MK if they were priced the same.

Can’t wait to play prime 4 on my switch 2!
