I got the update and... it's not worth it. The resolution difference is barely noticeable, in fact the game map is still a ridiculosly low resolution, and there are still frame pacing issues and some menus are still janky.

It's disappointing that you are sharing this artile as fact when gameplay (docked and handheld) that has now appeared online over the last day or so suggests that this video, and others like it, are totally incorrect.

There's a new video showing docked play and it looks good. I'm highly tempted as I have the original version on Steamdeck and to upgrade it is £35 alone, so might as well get the Switch 2 version for a little more.

Are they trying to make this the most unpopular Nintendo game ever? Also, "fast-paced"? We've all seen the promo videos... It looks like a slog.

This game was boring on PS5 and sold terribly. This Switch 2 port looks extremely lazy and is graphically a mess. It's not worth the £5 it sells for on the PS Store half the time, let alone full price.

I certainly won’t be paying £5 for this. It should have been free.

The different here is that Arms was colourful and fun. I bought it Day 2. This looks… dull in both senses of the word. I don’t think I’ll be picking this up. Ever.

Judging by the YouTube views on Nintendo’s videos, very few other people are interested.

So basically as it is now but you front load them instead of giving access one at a time? That’s good!

I never bought the second expansion as I tired myself out, and now I'm onto Hello Kitty Island Adventure, but I appreciate all the updates and the love the game gets.

Can't wait. I loved this on the Wii U and I'd say it's still my favourite XC game - the world was so immersive and the creature variation was so much better than other games. Also, graphically, I feel it looks the best - the Switch just couldn't handle the other games properly and they are blurry and low-res.

Really disappointed, but not surprised as every company is doing the same and putting up prices while giving customers less.

It's amazing how well this game is treated and the amount of content that's given out for free. Then you look at Disney Speedstorm...

I got it Day 1, put in 85 hours in a month and finished it all. I loved it! Can’t wait for the next one.

@NinjaNicky You can change the in-game time in the game menu. It's really quick and easy.

207 total hours. 58 on Disney Speedstorm. 51 on Disney Dreamlight Valley. 27 on Zelda. 14 on Pokemon Violet. 12 on Diablo 3. 11 on Fire Emblem Engage. 4 on Hogwarts Legacy.

I've only just gotten into this game, but at £24 it offers great value. I've played 35 hours in the last few weeks, and the content just keeps on coming - if anything, there are too many quests and tasks to keep up with. The best part is that they are all pretty varied (and sometimes quite long or weird and wonderful, or can take several days to find all the bits for) so you don't feel like it's boring filler content.

Also, unlike Disney Speedstorm, all that is locked behind Moonstones (paid currency) are cosmetics. You get access to all characters and storylines for free.

It updated and I'm miffed, but what can I do? I feel access to materials in TotK is lesser than in BotW, and that already wasn't exactly overflowing with stuff.

Must be up to 10 hours now. I'm taking it slow and feeling rather overwhelmed as it's actually much more difficult! It feels like Game+ from BotW as standard.

These prices are nuts. I got two Vue tickets for £7 (£3.50 each) the other month when I went to see it with a friend.

Wait, the underground area is the same size as the overground map?! Jesus.

I love that they are trying to sell an Ultimate version of this game for $120, and then they come out with even more monetisation on top?! For a LEGO game?

I used to have one of these. It was basically useless, but looked cool. Now I know why it was so useless. Good old Nintendo!

Just picked this up yesterday with Persona Q.

Demo is great, but will pick it up in the sale. For £43 it's a bit steep for a 10-hour non-replayable game.

It’ll be Pokémon Home connection. They said it was coming in early 2023.

The game has been out for 2 weeks and they are sprinting through these... Bit annoying to be honest.

Sonic Frontiers is down to £24.99 in many places. Pokémon is also available for £36.99.

Picked this up for £32.99 physical. Can't wait to get stuck in.

Alternatively, you can just go to the Poke Portal, select Tera Battles and then pick from the list rather than wandering around to try and find one.

@NinjaNicky When you have the Xenoblade franchise, Zelda: BotW/TotK, Doom, The Witcher, Dragon Quest etc. on the Switch all looking better graphically, you've messed up. The textures somehow look even worse than Arceus and that's saying something!

I'm playing it atm on my OLED. Is it the prettiest? No. Is the game any good? Yes. The retro "cyberspace" levels are actually really nice, and visually look great - very similar to the other consoles. Would I have gathered they made the Switch version more appropriate to the hardware? Of course. Does it ruin the game? Not really. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 ran at 360p and it got 9/10.

Looks graphically very disappointing.

Picked this up after initially not "getting" the game on Xbox in 2018, and this version is such a pleasure to play. It finally makes sense and holds your hand enough to make it enjoyable rather than frustrating. Graphically, yes, it isn't going to be PS5 levels of clarity, but on my Switch Lite (and even OLED) it looks great. I'm so impressed that they've managed to cram this into 3.5GB on the Switch. Absolute magic.

It plays like Starlink: Battle for Atlas and is graphically similar. If you like the premise, just go and buy it.

@Zach777 I’m aware of what the world looks like outside of towns and cities… and it isn’t a flat, treeless expanse of monotone colours. This game somehow looks like a backward step from Sword and Shield and Arceus, which is saying something given they were developed at the same time!

What have they done to Pokémon? Why is this game so barren? Why do the graphics look so poor - that picnic scene is just embarrassing. All of these new gimmicks are ridiculous and the storyline is utterly bonkers - a bunch of naughty school children and out to block off roads and you battle them on their boom-bus? Honestly...

This game looks worse than I feared...

Shame the character models are blurry and the overall graphic presentation is very basic and flat.

I can't wrap my head around the fact almost 50 million copies of Mario Kart 8 have been sold on Switch. It's massive and shows no signs of stopping.

I imagine BOTW2 Will launch on a new more powerful Switch console and be a bridge game between the generations like BOTW was with WiiU and Switch.

My most hated phrase is after each easy battle, you hear "When's the real battle happening, then?" in that Cockney accent. **shudders**

To be fair, the difference is night and day. Well done.

Kind of annoying that they’ve baked the DLC into the original game file size and locked it behind a paywall. I don’t want this taking up 10GB of space when I won’t ever be purchasing Sunbreak.
