55 first-party Nintendo Switch games have also reportedly sold over one million copies now. While we already know the top 10 thanks to Nintendo's official data , this list also shows various other games that have reached one million sales - such as Fire Emblem Warriors and Bayonetta 2. You can see the full list in below (via @pierre485_):

"55 million first-party Nintendo Switch games have also reportedly sold over one million copies now"
Dang, Nintendo HAS been prolific this gen
Proud of Nintendo for bouncing back after being written off by so many….
Glad to see ultimate alliance 3 broke a million. I enjoyed that game.
I have some of 1st party games from the list above on 3DS and Switch but I enjoy more 3rd party games than 1st party Nintendo games.
Definitely no Zelda games founded in my collection.
Not bad for Super Mario 3D All-Stars considering its limited run. For now, they have been meeting demand. Eventually, copies will become more rare.
180,000 people bought 1-2 Switch at a time when they knew better and had other choices. 🤨🤔🙄😯🤷♂️
Warioware deserves MUCH MORE....
I'm glad Miitopia is a million seller on both systems.
Nice to see game builder garage snuck onto the list even though Nintendo instantly forgot about it.
55 has to be most first party Nintendo games on Switch — now I want to see the shorter list of games which didn't make a million.
Let's see.. at least in North America, there are 111 games listed as Nintendo in the eshop. Brain training wasn't released in NA and Ring fit isn't on the eshop but the other 53 games should be. There are around 24 listings which are DLC or free games or pre-orders etc so wouldn't show up on this list. So 34 ish games (at least in NA) didn't make the million sales cut. That includes mostly random games published under Nintendo such as boxboy but also just a few traditional Nintendo games like Famicon Detective Club.
@Rykdrew I've felt for a long time that WarioWare could be a MASSIVE hit for Nintendo if marketed the right way, given this generation's obsession with random meme humor. I know Nintendo is weird when it comes to YouTube copyright, but if they would incentivise big-name content creators to promote WarioWare the same way as other viral games like Getting Over It or my buddy @mystman12's Baldi's Basics, and it could be one of their biggest franchises. I could see it doing as much as 10 million units. But Nintendo would also have to sell the game at a lower price point than 50 dollars.
@FishyS that was the same thing I was wondering. Be interested to see how many didn't make the 1 million cut
Astral Chain getting 1.2+ million was nice for a new IP
@FishyS Great points! I like the experimental games like Game Builder Garage. And it released at a budget price too!
Incidentally, I did make a game in GBG:
Astro Joust: G-004-6LN-C5Y
@FishyS would be nice to see that list indeed. But you have to fit in a bit of a disclaimer there, since some games are published only in the west by nintendo. Dragon Quest for instance is published in Japan by Square Enix and those numbers would therefore not be in this list, or at least not the complete worldwide sales numbers. Same with Live a Live, Age of Calamity and Octopath Traveler.
@Friendly Age of Calamity and Octopath made the above 55 list anyways, but I agree a few of the 34 'leftover' games I counted are funny publication situations like dragon quest. Most of the others besides those and Famicon Detective are games I hadn't heard of or (possibly incorrectly) didn't associate with Nintendo. It would probably be hard to make a definitive list, but its clear the vast majority of games which are recognizably Nintendo on Switch made a million sales.
And of course no new numbers for Metroid Dread, I guess RGT will never get to play Baland Wonderworld sadly
Let’s go, Pikmin!!
Astral Chain has done well for what it is. I still wish it did better. Also there's New Pokemon Snap vs. BD/SP sales. Is it just karma for us Nintendo fans under-emphasizing graphics for 15 years? Well, we were right, they clearly do not matter to sell your game.
Though on a brighter note: Pikmin 3, despite being immediately forgotten on Switch, somehow got past 2 million in a year. Unless sales stop entirely after this, I feel like Pikmin 4 will actually happen at some point.
@FishyS Nintendo never reports on the sales of digital only games. So something like Snipperclips might have sold over a million but they will never tell us.
@Tandy255
Honestly, it's probably that high because of its limited run. Gotta love that artificial scarcity.
@BTB20 SnipperClips got a physical release though
@FishyS good call, was expecting them to do more with it... glad i was waiting for a sale..
Dang, 55 1st party games selling at least 1M is impressive. MK8D is in a league of it's own; over 45M(!!!)copies sold and still going.
The 1.58 million Mario Kart Live Home Circuit, must be much lower than anticipated.
We should have gotten new karts.
Still love that game
Good to see some sales updates for some of the smaller sellers on Switch. Very impressed that Link's Awakening was able to exceed 6 million copies sold.
@StAmbrosius
Given what Mario Kart Live is (a $100 augmented-reality remote-control toy car), I'd say 1.5+ million units sold is quite impressive.
@AmplifyMJ Yeah, I had forgotten about that one but it was just an example, so the point still stands. Digital only games from Nintendo don't usually get their sales reported.
@F_Destroyer
You are aware, those numbers are from Dec. '21?
I’m surprised A Link Between Worlds didn’t sell more copies, it really is a well made beautiful top-down Zelda game for the 3DS
A Link Between Worlds deserved much more sales, fantastic game. Wouldn't say no to a Switch remaster (although the 3D will be greatly missed).
Kirby and the Forgotten Land selling like gangbusters too.
2.44mio is pretty nice for XC2.
I assume it got a bit of a push thanks to Pyra/Mythra in Smash
Remember all the 'Nintendo is doomed' talk on the unveiling of the Switch? Yet it's the best console they have ever done and probably the best generation they have done (other than maybe the Wii / DS combo)
Most impressive (for me at least) is that Pokemon has been outsold by Mario Kart and Animal Crossing (!). The shear number of titles selling not just over a million copies (a success) but tens of millions (run away success) is truly staggering. I’ve got a feeling the Switch is going to be the Game Boy of this generation; selling consistently well past its technological prime simply due to convenience, price point and huge variety of games on offer.
Forbes in 2016 - writing the switch off as a failure. Haha.
Astral Chain sales always make me sad actually.. it deserved so much more (not sure why, but that game really clicked for me).
@MichaelP Sure thing, Metroid is 3+ million now, but unless there is an official statement from Nintendo, he won't play Baland
38+ of those titles have surpassed 2 million sales (39 easily if you count Mario Strikers which has very likely surpassed that number). I think that's a more impressive metric considering the Switch's current install base and number of games on the platform. And the top 19+ have all surpassed 5 million sales, (I don't think there's a console that has ever reported this level of success)
so happy to see Fire Emblem Three Houses close to 4 million but sad that Astral Chain is only 1.2 million
I can't wrap my head around the fact almost 50 million copies of Mario Kart 8 have been sold on Switch. It's massive and shows no signs of stopping.
Would’ve been nice to get Dread’s updated numbers
I wonder what the threshold is to consider a game a success. ARMS did reasonably well considering it was new IP and the user base was pretty small.
Dude if MK8DX sells anymore copies I legitimately think we won't get 9 until like 2025 or 6 😔.
@Kang81 True. However, at the moment, eBay copies of Super Mario 3D All-Stars are still available at reasonable prices. I don’t think scalpers came out ahead on this one (yet).
Hmm. I would have thought New Pokemon Snap would have done a little better than that. Still not bad I guess
How does Nintendo decide which titles to update sales numbers for?
@Gamecuber Mario kart is always the #1 seller on a system. (Helps that it was bundled with the console for years) Animal crossing's sales were boosted by the pandemic.
The real surprise is SSBU outsold BOTW.
(Pokemon consistently sells well but it's never at the very top)
@SMUGSLOTH69 I mean, 8 is getting DLC content up through 2024.... So
@Dilly-Mick So you're tellin me if we even get a "Switch Pro" in the end of 2024 or beginning of 2025 it won't be launching with a new Mario Kart 😭.
@Dilly-Mick Mario Kart is always a solid seller on systems, but not the best seller. I’ve just checked; it is the top seller on Wii U and Switch (which is the same game anyway) but Wii was Wii Sports, GameCube was Smash Bros Melee, N64 was Super Mario 64 and SNES was Super Mario World. That’s why I’m surprised that it is the top seller on Switch as it has usually been top 5 but not first.
I agree with you about Animal Crossing and the pandemic; it was heavily advertised in the UK at the time.
Absolutely impressive!!!!! I will be buying many more Switch games this fall. My favorite Nintendo System ever! 😎 💯 👑
And Splatoon 3 will be the next 10M+ Switch game.
MULTIPLAYER GAMES TOTAL SALES:
300.550.000
STRICT SINGLE PLAYER GAMES TOTAL SALES:
131.710.000
It´s multiplayer games moment, baby!
Congrats Nintendo!
1/2 billion games!! Wow...only one (deserved) Flop (Cruis´n Usa)? Just wow!
Taking a look at the list, I don't see Tetris 99 or Snipperclips Plus. I'm guessing they're not accounting the physical versions of those or they aren't million sellers.
I don't see DC Super Hero Girls, Sushi Striker, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore or the other 2 Nintendo Labo kits either.
About the rest of the games.
Then there's the digital games (including those that are F2P): Pokémon Quest, Pokémon Cafe ReMix, Super Kirby Clash, Kirby Fighters 2, the recently released Kirby's Dream Buffet, BOXBOY! + BOXGIRL!, Part Time UFO, Bayonetta 1 (maybe this one will change once the physical versions rolls out), the two Famicom Detective Club games, The Stretchers, Good Job!, Cadence of Hyrule (physical version published by Brace Yourself Games) and Flip Wars. Though these last two would probably belong in the next category.
The NSO apps and Tetris 99 wouldn't necessarily represent sales, as you can download those even without a subscription.
Then there are third party-games published by Nintendo that aren't on the list (either they're not million sellers or the sales are accounted by their original publishers, much like Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle): Dragon Quest XI, Dragon Quest Builders, DQB2, Live A Live, The World Ends With You Final Remix, Go Vacation, Bravely Default II, Fitness Boxing, Fitness Boxing 2, DAEMON X MACHINA.
@Gamecuber Mario Kart 7 is the top seller on the 3DS.
@HammerGalladeBro The third party game published by Nintendo get their sales reported by Nintendo if they top 1 million copies sold in the regions where Nintendo published them. Octopath Traveler for example sold 1.9 million outside of Japan. In Japan it was published by Square Enix.
As for the Fitness Boxing games, both were reported by their developer Imagineer, who published them themselves in Japan, to have sold 1 million each.
Btw, there are 4 Labo kits in total, so 3 that didn't reach the million mark.
@BTB20 my bad; I didn’t check handheld sales. Still, as it stand Mario Kart has only been the top seller of this generation (if you count the Wii U and Switch as the same gen, but I don’t want to get into a debate about that!)
Skyward sword and tropical freeze sold (almost) 4 million each. Man, easy money for nintendo. Games barely changed, especially skyward sword..
@rockodoodle I wonder that too. ARMS sold more than a lot of other games on the list, and Min Min made it to Smash, but I sometimes get the impression they were expecting it to be the next Splatoon.
@judaspete sadly, my guess is we won’t hear from this franchise again…. I wish it had a story mode and more developed background
